SUPER RARE Lawn-Boy Dual Engine Rider - Let's Get It Running
In "Jesse The Know-It-All", Taryl takes on the front mower part of the Lawn-Boy Loafer. It sure needs some work as well and Taryl goes over that tricky recoil rope so you can get yours going again too if needed. Lot to know with these old 2-Smokers but Taryl's once again, got you covered.
Before and After the fix, local impatient landscaper, Jesse, shows up again in a hurry. This time he wants to tell Taryl how to fix his equipment instead of letting the master work. See how it all plays out here as he pushes Taryl to the limit in another hilarious, yet informative, how-to video!

    I found a 318 finally. It's broken down in an old lady's yard. I think I can get it for $300. She wants to sell it, and I want to buy it. I haven't seen it yet but my uncle says it was running one year, and wouldn't start the next. I've got a spare engine for one, so I won't have to buy parts hopefully.

    I bought only one Stihl chainsaw.. It was worse by far than any Poulan I ever had. I was never able to use it. It flooded. It was hard to start. If you pull it a while the plastic pawls in the recoil would break. It was heavy to carry and had to be started on the ground and put your foot thru the handle. My foot wouldn't fit. I still have that boat anchor. I paid over $300 for it new. From my view I don't get where people consider them higher end. I thought I was buying a reliable saw (MS 250)..PFFT. Never again.

    No wonder that customer didn't do it himself. He may have noticed two completely different panels in the pictures and realized that something wonky is going on!! It almost looks like the fix for that choke would be worse than the problem it was intended to fix. I would expect to see that thing again real soon Taryl. Did you notice that it is a Kohler engine? They are not so good!

  • @Myself-yh9rr
    @Myself-yh9rr Před 4 hodinami

    Did it come with a new sticker without the choke on the throttle lever? If not that section can probably just be cut out. Then there would just be a somewhat odd gap in the sticker.

    My riding mower doesn’t have a fuel pump and it takes the white filter always has from the factory i think you got them backwards. Also ive tried the 30 micron one has it was cheaper but it starved the carb no matter what i did so i stuck with the b&s white filter

    Whellni think people mess with my engine when my carbaratpr leaks our the bottom but when I looked on there its sealed and all but then I realized the neadle is pointed at the float and the neadle valve has a notch like piston ring notch on your piston where your piston rings go whell it fits on the floor catch and the neadle point goes up where the gas comes in and fixes the leak and runs great afterward just makes me wonder who's flipping the neadle valve pins in those carbatators coming brand new in those bicycle eningine kits

    I still have and use a Sears trimmer that I bought in 1980. All the local shops that used to be here are gone, I don't know of any that remain other than a few guys who do work out of their house garage. People buy cheap equipment because its all they can afford. They can't afford $140/hr labor to fix it either. All of those small blowers, trimmers, and even chainsaws are a royal pain to keep running and service. They must hire second rate engineers to design their products. It can't be any easier to assemble new than it is to repair. its not only older department store brands that are hard to service, Stihl and Husqvarna also made a few that were a royal pia to work on. My Stihl 032 comes to mind and any front loaded model from back then. Early Homelite and McCullough saws were pretty bad as well but they got worse as time went on. The one thing I can say for Stihl is that at least parts are available. Carb wise though, many brands, at various price ranges all tend to use the same carburetors, often its the only thing I save off a cheap piece of equipment. They come in handy if you don't feel like spending the money for a new carb. Its often a matter of whether something is worth fixing or not. I certainly wouldn't buy a $20 chinese carb to fix a $10 trimmer, but if a recycled carb does the trick, its a win.

    A bit nervous to watch lacking the chain stop/guard we're used to having! I'd think also about drilling the airbox cover and ptting a rubber plug in it. I wonder how well the chain sharpener worked, how long did the chains last, would our modern squaretooth chains work, & why were they discontinued?

    If I buy another mower I definitely will be more careful than last time when I bought a Husqvarna 46" rider with the Kohler Courage engine that lasted 61 hours before I had to replace it. My stepson was mowing the grass and I'm sure he was running it wide open trying to set a new record for getting the mowing done. The replacement is being babied keeping the rpms low so hopefully it will last me. It only has about 90 hours on it so far. If it craps out, I'll be looking for a twin Briggs to put on it.

    What are the emissions when you burn your house down, and perhaps the whole neighborhood, when charging the batteries? When charging, you put out H2, hydrogen gas, which is toxic to life on this planet, is violently explosive at concentrations above 7%, and burns like the Hindenburg at concentrations above 70%. Lighter than air, the gas accumulates above your head. You can't get the batteries wet, or mow wet grass with them, or charge them outside at temperatures above 80 degrees. What's more, they are hazardous material (no kidding) in every State but Louisiana, so you can't throw them in the trash either. If they were the cat's meow, they wouldn't have to push or incentivize them.

    😮... THIS IS CRAZY BROTHER... I grew up with a lawn boy loafer .. it didn't have a motor in it it was one of my granddad's old tractors... I push that thing all over the woods it had a really nice gearbox... I wish I still had it... Because I'm trying to build a dump truck.. I'm using an old 1980s Craftsman MTD transmission... In a 6.5 Craftsman Flathead vertical style lawn mower engine with the free drive system.. I'm going to use the pulley that's on that motor in the motor, to power that transmission... And I've been trying to figure out how I'm going to put it together... And I started thinking about the old Lawn-Boy loafer... Like I had when I was a little kid
