HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

Welcome back to another BigStackD Friday video. Today something a bit different that I haven't done before where I melt down a whole heap of sprinklers sent to me by someone that works in the landscaping industry on the other side of Australia. I never really thought of these as zinc but they certainly melted great and you can never have too much zinc 👍🏻. It's amazing to think what's in some of the things people would just throw away and not even think about but at least now everyone will know certain sprinklers are made of this metal. Now sit back relax enjoy the video and as always have an absolutely awesome weekend and see you all you beautiful people next Friday😁👋🏻

Fresh cast zinc really is a thing to behold. It's maybe even a bit shinier than aluminium, but with a mysteriously deeper lustre. It's a very short joy, however - literally within an hour or two it's already settled a bit from its most glorious moments. A bit like freshly baked bread, I suppose.

Wow the Zinc is quite remarkable! I might have to send you some I’ve got a bucket of zinc wheel weights that is almost full.

Another well forged video from Down Under - complete with grilling, dogs, and the perfect pour(no matter how many re-melts it takes). That chop put my lunch to shame, lol!

Very good and relaxing your videos. It would be nice if you transformed the metal into something useful as well.

I have obtained zinc from some antique egg shaped salt shakers from a thrift store, after melting them on my stove.

You seriously have such a cool channel and my 2.5 year old grandson always goes crazy when the “dog dawgies” come on. His words not mine. Anyway thank you for putting these out for us. They are enjoyed more than you will ever know. The end just finished him off, have had to replay dog fight club several times now and I wish you could hear his true belly laugh! It makes me giggle right from the belly too. Thanks for giving this grandpa some great memories with little man!

If you mix pennies from the USA and from certain years, you can make fine brass with custom contents of copper and zinc

Once when I had no source for brass I did this to pour a guard for a custom fillet knife I forged.

That #BigSnackD moment had me droooooooooooolin' 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Mmmm.... Lucky boys.... Got some of that tomahawk... So jelly.
Lol at that bit of blown-off crucible... I saw it and wondered if it may have been a bit of a bolt or maybe a part of pop rivet from the forge or something... Glad to see it was nothing to worry about. Nearly 83% of the way to the goal.... Keep it up! So.... Close......
Maybe it is time for a large scale sneaky melt? (Still waiting for you to melt the ice cream truck. Haha!)
Much love to you and yours, @BigStackD. 🤘🤘🎉🍻💥

Zinc is very easy in the mold. To drop in a wire. And attach to metal water or fuel tanks. You will be very happy you did in 20 years. Replace when gone.
