BEST BAND EVER? Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall - Live | Reaction
The LFR Family, LLC.
~Tapping into Your Potential Where Others Saw None~ - Hudba
Back in O.C. Calif when I was 27 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"...
I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Scott Page” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen.
All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS
Best Pink Floyd Songs performed live for me are "Comfortambly numb" and "High Hopes" (the first one for the final solo and the second one for... everything) both from the PULSE concert back in 1994 (Its the exact same consert on this video)
Agree
I think that the best version of Comfortably Numb is Pompeii 2016, that final solo is just something else
Agree
I really like "Run Like Hell" from this same show. It's an encore that closes out the concert with a bang. Highly recommend it.
For those who do not know where the name “Pink Floyd” came from…… Syd Barrett - original founder of the band had two favorite Blues Guitar Players in his record collection, two black men, “Pink Anderson and Floyd Council”. One came from North Carolina, (Pink) the other came from South Carolina, (Floyd).
I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION… Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
On The Turning Away live from 1988 is one of my favorites.
I saw that live in Toronto 1987..... AWESOME show
@@AliasMark69 Lucky you!
Seen them live 3 times. Tickets are expensive af but worth every penny in my opinion. To be honest though, I was only 8 when I saw them the first time so i couldn't fully appreciate their artistry but been a fan for nearly 25 years since.
The Pulse concert is the greatest concert that I've ever seen performed by anyone, period.
Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are both amazing and very different (from each other).
RUN LIKE HELL from the Pulse Concert is outstanding. Buckle your seat belt.
“One of these days” and “Run”
Pink Floyd - High Hopes - Live PULSE
Great song with a great performance from a great band. Keep Floyd comin. They have been my favorite band since my dad introduced them to me when i was in middle school.
“For Millions of years mankind lived just like the animals, until something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination, we learned to talk” - Opening line in “Keep Talking” - Pink Floyd. I consider it one of the all time greatest songs ever written.
That line is by Stephen Hawking and it's his voice that we hear in the song (that's why it's so "metallic").
Of all the work on exploring the universe the late Hawkin did, this to me will remain the most directly relatable and profound.
I don't come across black holes or Hawkin radiation on a daily basis. And even if I did, I'm not clever enough to understand the impact.
But "talking" I do relate to. And it is what most of us live our lives by.
".. unleashed the power of our imagination..."
Just think a moment about how powerful and astonishing the ability to communicate is. Be it verbal, written, or physical.
It is something to be valued, cherished, preserved, encouraged.
But it does _not_ justify sloppy grammar or text-speak spelling when the "long-hand" version is just as easy to type.
im tlk 2 u.
Wake up. Enjoy communicating. It is glorious.
lots of animals communicate verbally. I mean we don't necessarily understand their words unless you study certain communities for example dolphin pods. This quote just seems like some pseudo science circlejerking
@@Vexelpops1 You said it yourself. Animals "communicate verbally."
Is this 'talking'?
Think very hard about this. Because I think there is a difference. And a very profound one.
I am not communicating verbally with you now. I am not making animal noises which represent specific meanings. But am I talking to you in the way the original quote can be interpreted?
@@Vexelpops1 I believe that the quote was trying to point out that the human being, despite having the ability, is unable to communicate (or does not want to), especially when there is a need for it.
But this is my guess.
Beginning of this concert outdoors with the helicopter noise. With 4 sets of 28 speakers around the stadium the music was swirl in circles . people wood be looking up because it sounded like they where there. Opening of Roger Water of Pink Floyd's song of "the wall' concert will give you a taste of what the concert like. you tube " in the flesh' ( live) ( from Roger waters " The Wall" ( digital video) very rare to see a vid. from this concert that isn't a bootleg. Guarantee you will want to see the whole concert. MANY awards from this.
The only real way to experience this song, is not watching a live vid.
You Must Watch the MOVIE "The WALL". not a video, not a live performance, not a single.
The Movie of the Entire Album from start to end.
IT IS THE ONLY WAY.
Keep up the journey my Man.
Is a joy to see.
DEFINITELY one of the best bands!! I’ve always loved the lines at the end when the Headmaster yells “If you don’t eat yer meat you can’t have any pudding; HOW CAN YOU HAVE ANY PUDDING IF YOU DON’T EAT YER MEAT!!!!!”
As an older lady that was listening to these as they came out and many times at the skating rink, I hope your dream comes true cause ain't nothing like listening to PF and dancing around the rink! This Pulse concert was so good had to see it twice in 2 different states. I've seen and skated to a lot of bands but they don't get any better than PF. Seen Zeppelin too and no comparison IMO.
You were that girl. My life is complete!
Hi Ms Detroit, are you married to The Dr, D 😉 at our age I hope you get it. But same here Saturday night and Friday night roller 🛼 skating on Long Island. Thanks for taking me back there if only in my mind. We are as you said "older" but not Old.
I saw them on the Pulse tour. BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!
Will NOT picture myself skating while listening to this song.
pink floyd is my favorite band for over 40 years best live was when i saw them in concert best ever :)
I saw Pink Floyd Live in 1987 at Tampa Stadium and then again in 1994 at Clemson Stadium.....AWESOME!
Hi from KC. I really enjoy your reactions please keep them coming. For live concerts there is Pink Floyd and then there is everyone else a couple notches below. No one comes close to the sensory overload that is a Pink Floyd concert. The best period!!
I was there in 1980 Nassaua colissuim!!!! Only 4 shows in 4 different places in the world!!! I was there 15 years old!! As we were coming into the stadium people handed out 300 dollars asking for our tickets.. You know how much money that was back then?? ALOT!!! Did not give up my ticket
I think Van's reliving his life dancing on roller skates being master at his own party in his head!
Watch the song “sorrow” live at Pulse concert
My favorite?? "Coming Back to Life" from the PULSE concert. 3 guitar solos.
My favourite "Live" Pink Floyd show is "Comfortably Numb" at the Pulse Concert in 1994.
My 3 favorites are "Comfortably Numb" and "Sorrow" at Pulse 1994, and "High Hopes" in Gdansk (David Gilmour solo concert).
Pulse concert any song. Coming back to life and learning to fly and comfortably numb come to mind. You're correct this is a great skating song!
Check out Run Like Hell from the Pulse concert! You will love it. It’s the finale of the concert you are watching.
Wish you were here, keep talking, sorrow, fuck it, everything from this concert. Every song is incredible
Truth!
This song has so many memories. In hs we had a walkout after winning state basketball... A bunch of us called the school to sing this to whoever answered the phone... Good times.
Shine On You Crazy Diamonds is a must.....
Pulse concert, "Run Like Hell", and "Sorrow"
Also, you're absolutely right, great skating song!
Comfortably Numb In the PULSE Version, the guitar solo is the GOAT.
Or The TURNING AWAY in the Delicate Sound Version Live
you're right , best band of all times 😎👍
Pink Floyd number one ..........Zep number two in my book; I love Coming Back to Life...........same Pulse concert................also Sorrow........
Run like hell from the same concert, pulse 94,best concert I’ve ever seen or ever will.enjoy 🏴
My fav live clip is about 22 mins long. It's the Floyd reunion, I believe it was at Live 8, in the early 2000s. They did 4 songs. Epic seeing Waters and Gilmour together on stage again. Sadly, the drummer (I believe it was the drummer, apologize if I'm wrong) died a few weeks later after the reunion.
Pink Floyd IS my favorite rock band EVER!!!!
The Wall album changed my life, there's nothing like it before or since
Another great one is Pigs, three different ones, and Brain Damage which flows right into the song Eclipse from the Pulse tour.
The Pulse concert is my favorite of theirs.
You should react to Pink Floyd's movie "The Wall" it's trippy af
The live show alone is why Pink Floyd is at the top of the over 50 concerts Ive been to since the mid 70s . My top 5 concerts ever Pink Floyd in Detroit then in Cleveland then in Toronto then in Buffalo then In Detroit again lol For Pulse and Momentary lapse of reason where they dropped a bed across the arena into the back of the stage. Dogs of War is my fav a dark side of Pink Floyd you dont see to often
Roger waters the wall tour...I think what you want to look for is roger waters the wall" the trial".10/6/2010 last song and then the wall they have been building on stage through out the show..they tare it down with a bang! Super cool live experience.
I I flew away on roller skates with Pink Floyd in my Walkman .
Hello,
Way back... Tenerife... listening to this on a Walkman.
I was into Floyd from the beginning.
Once heard... never forgotten!
What an appreciated reaction.
Take care...
Tony.
All of them
Pulse tour live which is what this is from
Comfortably Numb
Great Gig in the Sky
All of them !
Skating to this song been there done that😊Good times for sure back in the 70’s and early 80’s😊
The PULSE performance of Comfortably Numb (video) is excellent.
Pink Floyd Shine on you crazy diamond
Their shows were amazing!
I grew up in Detroit. I used to skate a LOT....never thought of this as a skate song. But now that you mention it....I can see it.
Check out how long the Dark Side of the Moon charted...........think it is a record.
The only album to knock it off of the Number 1 spot was Michael Jackson's Thriller album.
Sorrow is amazing. One of the greatest solos at the end!!!!!!
You got hours and hours of reactions in front of you, my friend :)
If you like the Floyd, and you want to hear more of them live, you can pick anything you want from the Pulse concert and you won't be disappointed.
Some of my first memories of this song are at the local skating rink.
Yin & Yang
Pink Floyd & Led Zeppelin
You don't have to compare.... Just enjoy😉
Pink Floyd live performance to watch: "Final 'Echoes' performance with Richard Wright" in Gdansk. This is a song from Floyd's 1971 album 'Medle'. Pink Floyd's David Gilmore and Richard Wright's last time performing it before Richard passed away and it's brilliant!
absolutely agree.
Pink Floyd run like hell
Pulse concert is my favorite
"LEARNING TO FLY" and "COMFORTABLY NUMB" are top of the line live clips. But if you are not a FUNKADELIC FAN. You have easily overlooked a iconic performance by Dwayne "Blackbyrd" McKnight playing lead guitar for the Parliament-Funkadelic backup singers in their breakout performance as "THE BRIDES OF FUNKENSTEIN" Live in Houston. The song is "BIRDIE". Blackbyrd one-ups every Hendrix stage antic that he was known for.
I actually did roller skate to this song, at the Bowie-Crofton roller rink. LOL
I seen this live at Earls Court on the 2nd night and still have my ticket stub along with so many other Floyd tickets
The entire Wall concert..at the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood....sadly no longer there...but it was great in its day. Home to the Lakers as well. When the Wall comes down at the end of the concert was pretty epic...have been to maybe a 100 concerts in y life. my three Pink Floyd shows rank up near the top....all great.......
Comfortably Numb from the Pulse concert.
Pulse from Earls Court London
Pink Floyd - Delicate Sound Of Thunder 1988 LIVE concert
also remix version from 2019
Thanks. Your reaction was very enjoyable to watch. Good times. I found you through your Sublime reactions. Thanks again.
That's actually a really beautiful image ;)
You and you're beloved skating around to Floyd
Nice :)
Pink Floyd is definitely one of the best groups ever. I believe if everyone just listened to a few specific ones from them that they would learn so much. I was lucky enough to see them in Tampa back in the early 90s (Division Bell tour) when I was 15. One of My Turns and The Trial are my favorite from The Wall album. But honestly the entire album is a masterpiece.
And they played this one every weekend at the ice skating rink. 😁
Pink Floyd's best live performances: "Comfortably numb" (1994)... 'Us & them' (1994)... 'Learning to fly' (1989) ... 'Run like hell' (1994) ... 'One of these days' (1972) ... 'Dogs of war' (1989)... 'Sorrow' (1989)... 'Set the controls for the heart of the Sun' (1972)...
If they happen to come your way, Brit Floyd does an amazing tribute to Floyd in all of their shows. Worth the $50-$60 ticket. I've seen them twice and both shows were over two hours and they usually carry a Floyd-type theme such as doing the Wall album or going back in the day and performing Dark Side. Super talented band .
I agree. I was so skeptical of a Floyd cover band but these guys are as close as you can get to a Floyd show. I’ve seen both multiple times.
Comfortably Numb live from 1994, from this same show.
I have roller skated to this song lmao.
favorite: "comfortably numb : live pulse 1994" - but you did that already ..... try "one of these days" and "run like hell" from the same show.
If you haven't checked it out yet, I suggest 'Sorrow' from the Pulse concert.
In your own time watch the Pulse 94 concert all through. It's amazing. Saw them in Pasdena 😎
Saw them in Cedar Falls, Iowa. We were hanging in the parking lot, no tickets, one of their chauffeurs let my friend and I inside for free!
@@nordogvids it was the best concert ever!!
The best way to experience the wall is the full album in 1 sitting for the story.
Van, you gotta see live at Pompeii. Pink Floyd, plays in an ancient stadium that is empty.
Pink Floyd 🥰❤️😍
The best live Pink Floyd is seeing them June 28 1975 Hamilton Ontario Canada. Other than that can't pick a favorite video since anything they do is good.
Hey Van. Love your podcast. You have to watch them play Run, live in Pompei. It’s amazing.
Do 'Comfortbly Numb' live from the Pulse concert. It's unreal.
Omg skating! I grew up roller skating in the 70s! I went like 3 times a week! And yes this was a great song to skate to! I was one of the fastest girls on the rink when they did the “all girls” skate! My big brother worked there and I got to stay late after closing many times while they swept and cleaned up. I felt so special. Man I loved it!!
I had no fear back then but now at 53- I’d be afraid of breaking something because my mind would say yes do it but my body would pay the price. Lol
I’m sorry you couldn’t afford to go skating. I was lucky in my life to have a family that was comfortable until my early teens but became poor when the steel mills closed in my area. I’ve been on both ends of the spectrum and can relate to both sides of the fence so to speak.
To me this is more relaxing, having some good smoke and drink and chillin with some friends.
You should check out the Australian pink Floyd show so close to the real thing and are always touring world wide, they even performed at David Gilmore birthday
They're considered one of the famous British group and many songs they released such as ON THE TURNING AWAY, HEY YOU
next one from Pink Floyd - On the Turning away ( live to the Delicate Sound of Thunder concert 1988 ) and Coming Back to life ( live to Pulse concert 1994 ) = 3 guitar solo 😎👍
This brings me back to my high school days I can remember this song while driving to school playing it load thinking I was really kool!! But I wasn't really kool!!
Oh Yeah, “High Hopes” from Pulse, mostly because of the Peddle Steel Guitar.
High Hopes from Pulse is epic mate get it done !
Check out"Comfortably Numb" from the live Pulse your in 94.
This is what we grew up on. Both my husband and myself, our dads freaking ROCKED! My husband can listen by ear, plays guitar and bass.. he picks it up so easy, I'm jealous 🤣🤣
If you have not yet, please review High Hopes from the Pulse concert.
Bro, you should watch the movie. Trippy visuals. In my late 30s was the first time I watched it sober lol. Grew up in the 70s so I remember this well.
Perfect skating song indeed!
Yes Friday night skating ⛸ disco is fabulous I live in DUNFERMLINE SCOTLAND we went to either Edinburgh ice rink or Kirkcaldy ice rink skating ⛸ it was fabulous ❤🌟❤ but it was before Pink Floyd but great anyway ❤🌟❤
Oooh VAN!!!! I have ALWAYS said if I won the lottery I would build a kick ass roller rink and run it; that’s my dream. I Still skate! Saturday night is adult night at Roller Jam in Staten Island; has a bar too!!!! 🛼🛼🛼🛼🛼 Best song I ever skated to was there about 3 years ago; a Timmy Regisford remix of Gladys Knight and the Pips “Got to use my imagination” at about 1:00 in the morning; Heaven 🔥
Comfortably Numb live Pulse tour
