Normal Mechanics: Let's replace some parts
Tavarish: *Let's rebuild the whole damn car but even better*
Build it better
@@randomisus8711 New Channel idea?
@PJ Almighty Better than really broken
@PJ Almighty usually he takes a car that's destroyed, and restores it to better than facotry condition
Tavarish If we send you cars from autotempest are you going to send spam to our email addresses or sell our data to advertising companies? Thanks.
So, basically he's building a new McLaren in his garage with some parts from a wrecked one
just how he likes it
*dingdingding*
@@KororoTheGreat He gets people like us to watch it... It's more like WE like it.... As if we didn't like, he would not be doing it
Two. TWO Wrecked ones! Ha Ha Ha.
It's rapidly turning in to the ship of Theseus
This just turned into a really expensive LEGO set at this point lol
@DMoney Industry I think he'll finish it before Rob Dahm starts the 6-rotor build.
fr i know i couldnt afford it but i still wouldnt buy that car now how it is for half asking😂
I don’t get the logic of oh, I’ll replace my broken part with another broken part.... hmm I personally would have looked for a part from a car that crashed in the front only
@@mudflap135 it's simple. He can replace a few rivets and do a bit of welding far easier than he can unbend a frame thats warped in multiple directions
I Am Sekou
Exactly if you buy a Mclaren you better have mclaren money to fix it, it’s not a Honda but it’s not impossible to find a better part. Just saying
I think I could finish my entire project car for the cost Tavarish spent on one body panel.
John Miller What’s the project?
Facts. The race ready chassis we sell are 13K euro😂
lol yeh i'm honestly interested to know what the project is
I could do a big turbo build on my sr20 se-r for a quarter what this project would cost
And buy yet another project
Tavarish and Jared: this car needs more crash protection.
Mclaren engineers: don't crash it, it's that easy.
Tavarish!!!
The only crash protection a McLaren owner usually has is money for a new McLaren lol
His name is Freddy not Tavarish. That is just the youtube name.
i told my gf about tavarish today
"oh so he like buys broken cars and changes some of the parts?"
"well, define 'some parts'"
Return her to the store 🤣
Yes, yes sweety thats exactly what he does.
Ha! How much of the car can you replace without it become a "new" car? Does keeping the VIN plate count?
She's not wrong.. just.... Totally understated and not as easy as it sounds.
Haha. I’m sure my wife would say the same.
It’s not exactly my cup of tea, but still enjoy the content
“Fix” & “Mclaren” & “budget” all in one sentence. Ha. LMAO
That is most certainly a Trichotomy as none of those three go together.
@@kruleworld Lets assume just for the sake of the argument, that we don't have a million dollar budget.
...that nut removing trick was NEAT :)
That's a very old trick ;)
@@Damicske AND NOT A CLEVER ONE FOR LOAD BEARING PARTS THAT YOUR GOING TO DTRESS IMEEDIATLEY AFTERWARDS, YOU SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASE THE STRENGTH OF ALLY TEMPORARILY BY ABOUT 40% AFTER REACHING THOSE TEMPS...
@@deadprivacy good thing he was replacing those bolts otherwise, they would have broken for sure. The heat transfer to the aluminum part is done at a rate of 1°c cm^3/min for 50°c cm^3/min applied heat. This would mean that the temperature of the alluminum would not increase above 110°c which would actually serve to increase the strength of the cast part as the temperate decrease would be more rapid than when originally cast.
I can't believe that it worked. Every once in awhile even a blind pig finds a nut
Who tf learns to weld on a mclaren?!
Ma boi Tavarish does
HksF16 u mean Jared
I’d love to be able to say I did. I mean come on that’s just cool
@@Squirrely23 sorry i forgot who is da real MVP
HksF16 yes sir
Jared is a great addition to your builds... Make him full time if you haven't already. You both gel well together!
McLaren's got to be one of the few cars you could do a frame-up restoration and it would actually hurt the value according to the car snobs.
But at the end of the day he'll have a working McLaren so LOL
Many cars depreciate from restorations. Collectors want everything to be original.
That no one would ever buy.
There are only a handful of collectible Mclarens, like the M6GT, F1, Senna, P1, speedtail and the future Elva.
No one give a shit what you do to the other models, the 12C sells for like 30% of its original price.
A “restoration” is when you take a car that isn’t necessarily totaled and bring it back to its former glory. Like a classic car parked in a garage for 35 years.
This is an auto salvage. Lots of companies salvage cars. Primarily body shops. And when they’re done, it doesn’t say “restoration” on the title, it says “salvage” and in virtually all situations a salvage titled vehicle will cost significantly less than one that wasn’t put back together by someone other than the original manufacturer. This isn’t abnormal at all.
@@Geetee3991 maybe restoration isn't the best word , but saying ”im going to do a salvage” doesn't sound right...
Buys a broken Mclaren...then says "we are trying to do this on a budget" 😂

Pretty extra to learn welding by doing it on a Mclaren

Lol
Jared is the jack of all trades damn near master of them as well, you guys make a great team, looking forward to more of these videos.
12:06 "Thats when the tip goes in" I knew exactly what you were talking about!!
Tavarish: "Make it as good as it came from factory"
McLaren Engineers: "Am I a Joke to you?!"
Gaaaaaayyyyy
McLaren build quality isnt the best tbh
Assembly workers and robots do the actual building, so ye quite possible. Assembly workers dont even need any qualifications.
@@007lutherking there are no robots on the McLaren production line. The parts, including subframes and at the time the carbon tub (since this car was built they’ve opened their own carbon fibre facility for their road cars) come in from suppliers and subcontractors and McLaren assemble them by hand.
great series. can actually watch this even if it went like 30mins. per episode. 👍👍👍
"We believe in you"
Tavarish, and the help of Jared of course 😊😊. You can put it together like the lamborghini mercialago!! 😘❤️❤️

Tavarish. Great episode. Cool time lapse shot. Best part, dude said it was really hard to weld. You said you would have figured it out. Great positive outlook. Its why you sit there today. Keep up the good work.

I love when Tavarish releases content it's always quality and quantity. Well worth any kind of wait!!!
Agreed but wish he would use a gimbal. The shaky cam is hard on my concussion.
Freddy you and Jared, really make a billion dollar car repair seem as approachable as fixing up an old c10 pick up, and entertaining. that why Ive been following since the begining man. So awesome
Wow! Some excellent fabrication skills guys. I gave up learning ho to weld Aluminium as it was so dependent on correct angles, temps, etc... It’s great that you’re willing to learn anything in the process of a build.
$14,000 somehow sounds "reasonable" for a new McLaren frame.
its not even new
@@danielkerkotchian I didn't watch enough to hear that.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that. 😅

This is an amazing rebuild but lets be honest budget is out the window..LOL for the regular Joe that is.
Love watching your progress in this build!! Thanks for sharing!!
Great job Freddy! This is my second favorite build of yours so far! My first is your Lamborghini Gallardo of course. Looking forward to seeing this awesome McLaren drive!
Everyone has to love Jared. He spreads so many positive energy, even if your project fail it wont be a loss of time
So tavarish are friends with Chris from b is for build, and he went and buy a frame when Oscar can do a oem job for him. Smart man
I dont think its that easy to to create a frame that can actually withstand proper forces. The cars might be expensive but part of that cost comes with quality. If anyone could just build a frame for a mclaren, it wouldnt be bought because anyone can do it. Also, i would suggest you watch Vtuned garage. Hes pretty good at body craftsmanship and he struggles building an old mustang. My point is, some parts, you cant just build every part yourself and expect it to work out as wished. For show and max V of 30 mph, you can surely build any frame.
@@newmemer8070 I wouldn't say 30 😂😂 15 20 on a good day lol
it will cost more than used subframe
You mean Freddy.
I am really enjoying this build it will be great to see it finished. Love the tip about removing studs, I have also heard it helps if you put a washer under the nut. I love these builds when you get to the point of assemble.
Please make a WEEKLY... or monthly Jared video! It isn’t that we don’t love you tavarish. It just that we want more Jared!!! Thanks
Oh, looks like he’s rebuilding one car with parts from a recked one!
**Rich Rebuilds has entered the chat**
Curtis Carté Rich is a complete idiot. I don’t think Tavarish would even respond to him. He has a reputation of being impossible to work with. He had one good video series with his Tesla and then thought he was CZcams famous and started trying to hustle in on bigger channels. They can’t stand him. He has a bad know it all attitude and has been caught out lots of times talking utter rubbish. He turns up at events uninvited. Walks in on people while they are filming. Generally just makes a disturbance wherever he goes.
@@chrismason6857 you sound like a stuck up stuck up fan, one like Stan.
Ngl $14000 for sounds good, thought that that would probably be like 50 grand
My entire project car so far cost 15k (car+wheels+tires+ turbo+intake+manifold)
G’day mate, CZcams recommended your channel, so I decided to take a look. It’s probably the only time CZcams actually got something right. I really enjoyed the content. I wish you the best of luck, in regards to whatever you’re trying to ultimately complete, to your poor, butchered McLaren. Cheers mate from Western Australia!!!
Absolutely fascinating series, you have a big fan now!
9:06 nobody gonna talk about how the hammer and music got synced up
It could be called the "Monster of Larenstein" or the "Frankenlaren"
You would think the tail of a long tail car would be longer by at least a little. Also something very satisfying about removing those bolts. Genius idea.
Another EXCELLENT video...you got chutzpah....putting the welding torch on that frame with no experience...great job...and your side kick is a really big help to have around....I know of some other builders on CZcams that could use some one like Jared!

Great video - especially the music for the sped up sequence - bravo - otlichna!!!
The nut trick is so awesome... the heat really helps breaking it loose as well... I did the same to a rear brake adjuster that was seized on my Mini cooper project. :)

Jared, Freddy, excellent work. I was "welded" to my screen watching the aluminum welding you guys were doing. Great work! I've always wanted to try my hand at welding, but like you, Freddy, it was a little overbearing, but I should try it one day! Great inspiration, Freddy!
Whats the music that starts at 7:33? Its different than the track listed in the description. Great video as always! Thanks!
Fantastic work guys. Thanks
I’ve used that weld a nut on a hundred times. Seems a little easier when being done with an aluminum frame.
Good video . Great background music during the first welding scene . Mellow

Awesome vid guys. Loved the music too!👍👍👍👍
I fucking love this channel. Tavarish is so inspirational and simply motivates so many people to muster up the courage to take on a DIY project. Great video!!!
I have to say I do enjoy your videos and today Jared was awesome...a true true friend.
I just learned to tig weld cast aluminum on the 6 speed going in to my 840ci, I've done everything in this video just getting it back on the road correctly.
what a great friend you got there with jared. indispensible and an asset to the channel. Do not lose him.

I use that broken bolt technic but I'll weld a flat washer to the bolt first and then weld on the nut. It gives the nut a larger surface to weld too.
Learning so much from you and Jared; don’t be scared of expensive cars. Just do it!
Wow, I'm so excited to see this done!!

9:55 Jared casually cleans his nails out with a wire brush. The man is clearly a machine.
9:05 Hammering in sync with the cool sounding track. Also got an 'Iron man' vibes going on there.
My apprentice at first workplace had a "every week, you gonna learn something smart" And this was like 4th or 5th week - Welding nuts to broken bolts... such a good thing to have in your mental tool shed
I wish I could fast forward to see the car finished. I am anxious to see it done. This is a great build.
Tip for getting out broken bolts use a pneumatic metal engraving pen. The vibration of the engraver will cause the bolt to free up in many cases. I have used this many times with great results
14:00 i had always wondered if the Cantina band from Tatooine ever released a followup.
I've been wondering about this song the past few videos, I finally found it:
czcams.com/video/WYD8cD4HgSk/video.html
Try using around a 5 cup with a regular diffuser style gas collet for aluminum, the much smaller diameter will help with visibility of the puddle. Aluminum has a very low reactive nature so doesn't need a huge amount of gas coverage.
Well done on the Tig weld ! For your first time you did great Freddie!
Welding a flat washer onto the broken bolt first then welding a nut is a better method. The thin flat washer allows you to get really good penetration on the broken bolt, the weld the nut to the washer.
Can't wait to see this beautiful machine finished!! Also 13:20 sounds like it could be the Mos Eisley Cantina Band 😂
