- Hello Folks and a Happy Easter to you all wherever you may be. I hope you all had a fun and Happy Easter weekend and here's hoping our UK viewers didn't get stumped by the clocks changing! However, here we are with the second of this week's reviews and we are in Scotland to look at ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND UK (EGPD) by Gary Summons, lead developer at UK2000Scenery. Gary's latest product comes hot on the heels of their release of Aberdeen by AURASCENERY and as I am a fan and regular supporter of Gary's efforts, we will check out his version here.
This version is also feature rich and comes with many of the static aircraft and helicopter models found at this popular Scoittish airport. The static models are optional and can be removed if you wish to. Also note that you need the latest UK2000 COMMON SCENERY LIBRARY (link included with the purchase and below) to see all the models. The install is remarkably small at just 137MB too. Join me in the review and see what you think.

A very good review as ever Lee. I've used Gary's scenery back to FS95 when I first came across his Gatwick scenery. As you say he's adapted really well to developing for MSFS2020 scenery.
Thanks for the comments Terry. Yes, gary has always been a good developer. Great to see him still working on UK products. Lee
Another very useful review thank you. A small detail I know, but for me both versions need lighting in those hotels, they look closed down at night, it takes away a bit of the immersion. The surrounding Asobo buildings put them to shame after dark.
Hello Gary and thanks for watching. Yes, I completely agree. The lighting could be better off-airport but not all devs do it. But I agree with your comment actually, I like to see as much immersion as possible. Lee
Sadly, Just bought Inibuilds Aberdeen Dyce scenery 4 weeks ago.. Looking at your great review on Gary's EGPD I would say it has the edge, as Inibuilds has no Helicopters modelled (Bristows) A big mistake, Helicopters are a huge part of this North East of Scotland Oil Capital.. Another thing which is a huge mistake and I live three miles from this airport, I can hear Helicopter Rotors running all day when the wind is right.. You can not go to the passenger flight terminal without hearing and seeing Helicopters...Both sceneries have no sounds of helicopters, which is a big mistake but I have no idea how difficult that would be to do? I did contact Aura and they took it onboard?
Hello and thanks for watching and for your kind comments. You could ofcourse always wait for the sales; Gary's product might be available in a sale. That said, you are correct about the helicopters. Actually sounds can be produced separately within the Sim - notably the sounds which can be heard in SimWings's Nuremburg scenery (see the review on my channel) and if you listen closely as you pass over my Airbus A320 in this video, you can hear the FEGP Unit, so it can be done. I guess we await developers stepping up their game here and thinking about such things as ambiant sounds which the Sim does provide options for. ll the best - Lee
@@TheVirtualAirlinePilot Thanks Lee I will watch that video, infact I had no idea you had so many wow, quite a list for me to get through.. I think Location sound is a thing developers are missing and I had put it down to it being difficult or impossible to do.. At the moment I am struggling to get my autopilot for Fenex A320 to engage and I have watch countless You Tube.videos. Most You Tubers when instructing a new aircraft, tend to not instruct but show off their speed or waffle.. Which makes it a long effort when trying to copy them... What I mean in my opinion is, what is required is a slower step by step with no waffle to show how to set a complex aircraft like the A320 up for flight, so you as a simmer can quickly copy step by step when learning. Just my opinion.
@@alwatt9367 The autopilot issue is supposed to be fixed now! What I would do is, first remove any V2 liveries from your Community folder; Next, completely un-install the Fenix (make sure you have downloaded or have access to the V2.0 EXE file first and also ensure you have your login name and password for the Fenix Manager). Reboot your PC. Next, go into the small ICON bar at the bottom right of your taskbar and shut down any programs that are running and then disable your anti-virus for 10 minutes.
Now reinstall Fenix v2.0 Reboot the PC and ensure your anti-virus is active again. Last thing to do is to go into MSFS and check your autopilot settings. Make sure you have the autopilot ON/OFF correctly assigned! And before leaving the Controls menu, check for any rogue assignments.
Remember that the autopilot can be engaged right after lift off - but I always set it ON around 1000 feet or so AGL. I hope it works for you. cheers. Lee
Is there interiors lee
Hello Andy. No. Gary has used high resolution parallaxing to give the illusion of interior modelling, but The Terminal is not developed inside. If you use the drone to go inside from Landside, you'll find an empty shell. Probably the best example is the NATS Building. Lower the light to just after DUSK and check out the windows. This effect is what Gary has used on this product mostly. Lee
@@TheVirtualAirlinePilot I have all his airports, the plus side is the downloads are very small , for the Xbox it's perfect and stable
@@Andy-oe8bi Enjoy it! Lee
