Bought a used 62" 287L Toro back in 2010 for $1750. Kept it and rebuilt it and fixed it. Then used it for 11 years and made good money with it part time. Still have it to mow my own yard.
You've got an absolute steal for $400 if all is well and sorted Given it's worth multiple times price you paid But unfortunately Sellers are Not always forthcoming so Best of luck mate.👍🙏
Got my 52 inch scag for $350. It ran but was in rough shape. Deck had rust holes in the front, it had sat for 5 years straight. I brought it back to life and it’s still my best mower. I have brand new mowers and still the 52 is my go to everyday mower.

Im a commercial landscaper and a Scag is the best mower ive used by far. It doesn't skip in high grass and its fast. You can cut at top speed if u want

I literally just did this with a 14 tiger cat 52. I paid 2500 for it cleaned it up spent 200 in new parts like grips sticker deck guard etc and sold it for 4900. A very good mower for sure

Use a thermo heat gun "infrared" and check exhaust pipe temp. Or a crayon, candle, all will keep you from getting the crap shocked out of you.

Not being there, kind a looks likes you have no spark on the left cylinder. Trace that ignition back and you'll find the problem I'm sure... I'd say you still got a great deal in my opinion. Thumbs Up!

I’m amazed at how little you paid for this ZT. I’m teaching myself small engine work and have a lot of free or very low money equipment to work on and flip. I’ve recently decided to learn all I can about zero turns. Around here I rarely see any for sale for low money and none free. Could you please tell us the exact circumstances surrounding this machine? How did you find it and why was the price so low?
I’m planning to make a video soon on how I find these deals, honestly most of the time it’s as is deals, you buy it and without really knowing how much work it will need, sometimes you win sometimes you loose 🤷♂️

Scags are one of the best cutting commercial mowers, especially with the Velocity Plus deck, and are very reliable. All mower brands have their own issues but a fair bit of it stems from guys that don't maintenance something until it breaks.
12k for a new one in 2023 that's for gas I think the diesel was pushing 20k
Why not power wash before you start? lot better to work on clean parts!!!
I buy a broken zero turn fix it use it all year sell it next year and buy another repeat. Done it for about 8 years now.

@@Rein_Ciarfella I got a buddy who buys trade In mowers from local dealers he don’t wanna do major repairs on them so I’ll usually buy one or so from him I’ll usually pay 3-5 hundred for a nice zero turn

@@busyboy7635 300-500 to buy the mower pulse repairing them then I sell them in the spring of them next year for 1500-2500. I make money on mowing my yard😎.
Not everything is a "barn find" just because you've seen popular videos with that in the title.
This mower was literally siting in a barn for many years, the picture in the thumbnail is of this actual mower just the way it was sitting when I came to pick it up.
Either lying or its stolen. That mower, in that condition, would sell for $3k easy.
Not lying and not stolen, bought it from the original owner, just blessed with a good deal 💪
@@Ace.Fisher Must be. I paid $750 for a 2006 Craftsman 42 inch (not a zero turn obviously). Granted it was almost mint, just needed a carb cleaning.
Id love to have a zero turn, but Iv seen scags almost exactly like this one used and people ask at LEAST $3k, Iv seen alot more. They go for what, like $9k new? Mower prices are out of control, much like everything else
