  • The city inspector said "NO WAY" we could mulch down those azaleas in front of the home! But Little Munchie said "hold my beer" and took care of it no problem! This city violation was EPIC and the back was another funked up fence line that had to be mulched down too!

    In regards to all of the people talking about who is responsible for cleaning the property up for the city to work on it. I don't know this specific situation but I'll tell you my experiance.
    I own 20 acres in west Texas. The power company, Oncor, has a substation on the back of my property and an easement for the power lines. I cannot build any permanent structures in Oncors easement but Oncor is responsible for all mowing and maintenance on that easement. Oncore also built a road from the main street back to thier substation which they are responsible for maintaining. I do mow the sides of the road once in a while but that's mainly just because I want to, not because I have to. I also have an easement for 5 oil and natural gas pipelines that run through my property. 5 different oil companies share responsibilities for mowing and maintaining thier easement. A few weeks back, Sunoco gas needed to do maintenance on thier pipeline on my neighbors property. While trying to figure out how they were going to get heavy equipment to the pipeline they saw my road back to the substation which leads almost exactly to where they needed to go and asked me for permission to use my power line road to get back there. I said yes and they insisted on paying me for the use of the road because there was a chance that they could damage my fences pulling their equipment through. They did have to take down a section of barbed wire fence to get to my neighbors property because they didn't go far enough back to find the gate but they rebuilt the fence stronger than it originally was.
    I don't know what's going on with the property in this video but in my opinion, my experiance is how it should go..

    • @shvrdavid
      @shvrdavid Před rokem +3

      In many jurisdictions, contesting fines will only insure you get plenty more of them.... As an example, that house appears to have been empty for more than 30 days so it could be forced to be brought up to all current codes, costing more than the property is worth.. An easement is property someone owns, not the city. The owner has to maintain it, and can never use it for anything. Just about every jurisdiction has the same laws on it and the owner is responsible for all maintenance, even thou they can never really use it for anything... No one ever truly owns their property anyway. They just pay taxes on it for the right to retain it and do what the local jurisdictions says they have to do with it. And that has done nothing but get worse, practically everywhere....

The city then bills itself, forwarding it to the V.A. to be paid in full.

    I doubt those azaleas were any code violation. So my question is why would the owner want to destroy them? They needed a little trimming is all.

    That's an amazing machine. I don't think I've ever seen one out this way -- but then, we don't have such underbrush to get rid of.

    Could have sold those big Azalea bushes for $800-1000+ at most nurseries. Same with the rhododendron…they take 60 years to get that big.

    That's awesome. I'd love to get my hands on such a thing to reclaim my fenceline.. But then again, if I had access to such a beast, I'm fairly certain I would no longer have a fence and a large repair bill... lol
    Nice work!

    Why did they want such beautiful mature bushes removed? Takes forever for them to grow that big, just trim them.

    I am also curious where behind the house is the violation ? The area you clear is not on the property of the house in question or the neighbors behind the home. Seems like the city did not maintain the right of way area between the properties and they laid the blame on the home owner to get some work paid by the owner.

    • @boogerhooks
      @boogerhooks Před rokem +1

      Where do you see property boundary markers?

    • @LambrettaJet200
      @LambrettaJet200 Před rokem +2

      Fence line in both properties also if the city is doing work in that area it is in a right away. Government don't do work on private property.

    • @danielbailey6910
      @danielbailey6910 Před rokem

      Hopefully home owner was not charged for that since it was not on their property

      @stephenkoop1020 the fence lines

    • @boogerhooks
      @boogerhooks Před rokem +1

      @@LambrettaJet200 Fence line doesn't equal property line. Owner could have built their fence to enclose the lawn, and just didn't feel like clearing the brush.
