I'm 14 and I had a flip phone. It was my first phone and it was a Samsung. It flipped up and it flipped to the side for texting. For its time, it was pretty cool. I'm much happier with my g2 that I'm using right now to type this. Although it's not perfect. It's getting a little old and has no external storage, but it will last me another year or so.

I was born in 97 and my first phone was a flip phone each text costed 99 cents and each minute on calling costed $1.30. If you used up all your minutes on either if you did both and used it up in a week your phone was useless using internet was super expensive. At 7:30 calling was free and if you had someone with the same carrier as your phone calling and texting was free. Back then I could forget my phone and it was whatever

Major pro for the flip phones was that it was WAAY easier to text under the desk. You never had to look down and therefore tip off the teacher. There were only 9 pads, you could feel where you were on the phone and you memorized the letter order pretty quickly It was all muscle memory.

+georgejungismyhero did you have to pay extra for T9? Because if you did then my parents never would have allowed me to buy it. They were reluctant enough giving me a cell phone at the time and wouldn't allow me to buy anything extra for it including ring tones. They also made sure to buy the the cheapest, most basic cell phone at the time, it didn't even have a camera. I was very grateful to have it though I got pretty quick with texting, and of course never texted whole words.

This vid is probably fake. I was born in 95 and i had the RAZR v3 and a samsung flip phone. I wonder if they know what a sidekick is?

These "teens" are 18-20. It's that sad. My 13 year old sister knows what a flip phone is/how it works.

As far as what is considered an adult some say 18 others argue for 25, I've also heard of 16 somewhere. Ultimately it depends on where you live.

I'm younger than all of them and I remember the flip phones then the sliding phones. I remember when the first iPod came out and how wowed I was by how good the touch screen was. Some sliding keyboard phones had touch screens but you had to push so hard. Wow I feel old.
