  • In this video I cover which Race/Ancestries to choose when building your party for the Palace of Ice DLC. Spoiler Snow Dwarf is a good choice!
    ABOUT THIS CONTENT
    A journey into the Northern Peaks
    Although the heroes of Caer Cyflen managed to prevent the Soraks' attempt at reopening the Rift to unleash their foul god upon Solasta, the threat is far from over. With the Kingdom of Gallivan suddenly declaring war on their neighbours, there is little doubt that these insidious foes have agents everywhere - and that they always had contingency plans well prepared.
    The Palace of Ice DLC is a high level 10 to 16 campaign that will take your party into the frozen lands of the Snow Alliance. The allies of Caer Cyflen need your help now more than ever, for Soraks are not the only foes that have been sighted lately. Other ancestral creatures have joined the battle, and there is little hope for victory without experienced adventurers to face them.
    This adventure features:
    2 New Ancestries. The Gnome and the Tiefling are now available in the Character Creator!
    A continuation of the Crown of the Magister Campaign. Unveil the Soraks’ master plan and put an end to this threat once and for all!
    Returning faces. Import your save file from a previous campaign to continue playing your previous party at higher levels, and meet characters from both CotM and the Ruins of Telema demo! Note that you can also create new characters if you so desire, as they will start at level 10 in Palace of Ice.
    High-level encounters. Ready yourself, for you are not facing just goblins anymore! Get ever stronger up until level 16 to defeat the mightiest of foes!
    Co-op with up to 4 players! Just like the two other official adventures, Palace of Ice is ready to be tackled solo or with friends.
    New Dungeon Maker content:
    Four new environments: Mountain Caves (indoor), Dwarven City (indoor), Dwarven Settlement (outdoor), Snowy Hills (outdoor)
    New monsters: Monsters from Palace of Ice will be available to use in the Dungeon Maker
    [FREE] New World Map System: Place your locations on one of the three existing World Maps (Crown of the Magister, Lost Valley & Palace of Ice), link them together and add some spice with Random Encounters during travel!
    [FREE] New NPC Follower System: Create follower NPCs who can join the party (controllable) to give them a hand during combat!
    Free content update for all!
    Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Halflings and Half-Elves are all receiving 6 new faces to choose from for free (3 Male / 3 Female)
    Level 12 - 16 are now available in the Dungeon Maker! Note that the Crown of the Magister and Lost Valley campaigns are still locked to level 12 max due to balance reasons.

    I've been playing Solasta with unfinished business DLC and the sorcerer with that DLC is the strongest striker in the game if you pickup some certain feats: spell sniper ( warlock ) to pick up eldritch blast and double it's range, eldritch adept to pick up agonizing blast invocation, potent spell caster to add cha bonus to cantrips, which stacks with agonizing blast. Then you also pick up the powerful spell metamagic, which adds one more dice to any spell you cast for 1 sorcery point. 6d10+30 eldritch blasts that cost 1 sorcery point each. Having disintegrate as your cantrip basically, and the rest of the spells can be utility like shield, counter spell, misty step, twinned haste and stuff.

    I have been finding gnome wizard to be really good. Shadow gnome allows you to become proficient in a ton of stuff with like stealth and crafting. Or rock gnome with spy background you can craft with proficiency like 5 different things right away.

      Yeah, Gnomes are the way to go for casters for sure! Cheers!

    The Rock Gnome was never meant to have DEX +1 but to have CON +1.
    That error was corrected with the first hot fix of the POI DLC and so the Rock Gome now has +1 CON.

      Yeah, glad they changed that for sure! I was very confused lol. Cheers!

    for melee focused character dark vision isn't really necessary as long one of your caster cast light spell cantrip on your armor,the spell last for 1 hour and didn't required concentration

      I agree, but is nice not to waste a turn on light spell. Cheers!

      @@VaniverseGamingyou don't waist a turn in battle, if you cast light out of battle, while you're exploring.

    A Dragonborn Sorceror with Draconic ancestry gets potentially 2 resistances. Say--- Gold Dragonborn with Green Draconic ancestry gives resistance to fire AND poison.

      Funny, one f my builds that I have a video on is a Dragonborn Path if Claw Barbarian. 9 DR is so much fun. Cheers!

    my favorite race are the dwarves..they are so good in so many classes ..even those who are not "best in slot" "cookie cutter" ...a dwarf wizard for example ...i always at least one dwarf in party ..nd in palace of ice they got even more usefull....May Durin bless us

    with dwarf heavy armor training does its mean i can have medium encumbrance without penalty since the penalty is -2 moving speed?

    • @VaniverseGaming
      @VaniverseGaming  Před rokem

      Correct, the penalties of Heavy Armor do not apply to them. Cheers!

    Darkvision ring isn’t attunement anymore so it’s much less of a hassle than it used to be.

    • @sebastianstark8517
      @sebastianstark8517 Před rokem +1

      I get the attunement system and why it's there, but really wish it was limited to one attuned item per slot. I find it annoying that I always have way more items that require attunement than I can use at one time.

    • @VaniverseGaming
      @VaniverseGaming  Před rokem +1

      I do not disagree. I feel they need remove attunement on more items so you can utilize more legendary items! Cheers!

    you ve said at the past that u dont like sorcs that much....i prefer wizards too (specialy the court mage) but the sorcs twin spell can litteraly brake the game...i recently made a 2 draconic sorcs2hoodloom rogue grp just to test my theory on twin haste twin invisibility and its absolutely BROKEN...at fights that i can prepare its not even a chalenge at highest dificulty..but even in ambushes or fights that happen before you can buff ur grp is still extremely powerful. u can always twin haste your hoodlooms and twin invisibility your sorcs...or mix this as u like

      Thanks for the comment, this is good information. Old habits die hard I guess. I love twin spell as I think that and some of the 5E subclasses make sorcs great. In Solasta I think the subclasses are lacking, and not being able to multiclass hurts my want to play a sorc. I always liked the Druid or Wizard since you seem to have a spell for everything, but with a Sorc you lose that variety. I just do not know if meta magic makes up for it from a fun standpoint. If I am giving up spells I might as well play a Warlock lol. Cheers!

      @@VaniverseGaming The reason why this works is the fact that its a video game with some patterns that you can abuse a way or another...and the fact that you have certain knowledge over the campain...if this was real dnd ...it wouldnt probably work...Also the game gives you access to many items and consumables to fill the gaps your party may have..but i agree that the best grps are those who have the most possible solutions for every ocasion
