- Today we're unboxing and taking a look at the newest ofering from the Hasbro Black Series line of full-size Star Wars helmets: Axe Woves. This Mandalorian was originally part of Bo Katan's group as seen in the second season of the Disney+ streaming series, The Mandalorian, and returned for a larger role in season three. Let's see how they did with his dome piece!

Black series need to give us an AT-AT driver or TIE fighter helmet.
I like the Mandalorian style but it would be nice to see a new shape.

I could not agree with you more, Ace! Can you imagine the money they would rake in if they did the AT-AT or TIE Pilot helmet?! And I know they can do complex helmets like this well, as we have seen the Darth Vader helmet from them and most recently, the Captain Rex helmet, which was stunning. Let's get it done, Hasbro! haha! Your Thumbnail hooked me and you cracked me up with the “Hit With Rocks” line. If this helmet does pegwarm, might be worth picking up for a custom project.
Thanks, SteveO! haha! As you can probably tell, I just have a loose outline in my head of what I'm going to say, not a polished script. So, sometimes, I accidentally stumble upon something pithy or dry in humor to say. It's rare, but it happens! haha! And yeah, if you are going to pick this one up, I'd try to see if you can get for less tan full price. It's pretty underwhelming in my opinion.
This is one that I'm definitely not rushing out to buy. Its fine and a bit of colour is always a nice change in Star Wars collectables, but I don't really care about Axe Wolves. I might buy it if it goes on super clearance. We need Paz Visla and Moff Gideons from season 3.
Absolutely spot on, Colette. I agree with you. The rich blue color of this helmet is cool... but not "rush out and get the helmet at full price and display it" cool, that's for sure. I am like you. I would liked to have seen a helmet from a more prominent character. This one is the very definition of "re-paint for profit." I wouldn't mind picking this one up, but tbh, I don't care too much for the stripe around the top portion of the helmet, but the color is nice and so is the weathering, and scratches, especially around the front of the helmet. Nice review, Paul.. I'll wait to see if this one drops in price before I purchase it, though
I think that's a fair assessment, Cirespeed. The blue on this one is rich and nice to look at it, and is definitely the defining feature of the helmet. And I, like you, am not really excited about that circle around the crown of the helmet either. Definitely one to wait for a sale to pick up in my opinion. I wonder if we’ll see a constant repaint of phase 2 clone helmets (which I wouldn’t hate), but seeing Rex coming out, which is unique, makes me excited
I think that is a VERY safe bet to make, Tom. To date, as you are aware no doubt, we only got that "Ahsoka Clone" repaint. I'd bet good money we get at least two more. I'm guessing the 501st blue for sure and probably a Kenobi 212th yellow/orange or a Windu purple. And yeah, I'm with you! I can't wait to get my hands on that Commander Cody helmet to see how they did. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video!
@@PaulsCollectibles so many options for repaints. 501st, 212th, Windus battalion, commander Gree, coruscant guard. Captain Rex, Commander Cody and maybe Commander Wolffe could offer really good modifications.

Nice review Paul. Hasbro is going to get as much out of that mold as they can...still, as repaints go, I think this one looks pretty good!

Hey, Ryan! Thanks and yeah, I'm ordering these out of reflex at this point so I ended p with it. It's really not all that exciting for sure. Hopefully I'll have a much larger display room at the final house and will be able to set out all these extra helmets. For now, this one is going back in the box and into storage. It's always good to see you and I hope things are going well for you as well!
It's a great looking helmet, from a great series, trouble is once I got my hands on the BS Boba, I stopped there, other more deserving helmmets need my cash more, great review as usual
Hey, Simon! Thanks for chiming in on one of these Black Series videos. You make an excellent point. Once you have the Boba Fett, the Mandalorian, and the Bo Katan, you pretty much have all the Black Series Mandalorian helmet molds. The repaints are nice, and I do enjoy the rich colors they are using, but if pressed, I could do without them. As a matter of fact, except for the aforementioned helmets, the rest of my Mandalorian Black Series helmets have been packed away to make room for much more deserving helmets to be in the display case. The name of that purplish colored one you called the (night wolves). you were thinking of night owls. but that helmet was death watch. axe woves helmet is a night owl helmet.

Yeah, Zachary, it was hilarious. I got to that part of the video and my brain just froze up! haha! Some times that happens, and I'm like, "what did I just say?" @@PaulsCollectibles exactly, I have the complete Star Wars helmet collection by De agostini, (small helmets) and there’s 80, and that was before the Disney TV shows. There’s so many to choose from that are much better. Keep up the great work

i am a recent collector of these helmets, and i am already sick of the lack of effort put in with these repaints.
Yeah, I can totally see that, sir. It seems at this point, for every one great, awesome and intriguing new helmet we get, they throw three to four half-effort repaints at us. Maybe the character isn't likeable to you but many fans were asking for his Black Series and Vintage collection figures for a long time to complete the Night Owls.

Yeah, isn't that hilarious?! Except for Din Djarin and Bo Katan, you can see the "Boba Dent" in the interior of EVERY OTHER Mandalorian style helmet I have! haha! Thankfully they at least kept it off the exterior!

I had to draw the limit at four. Now I make hard decisions on what gets displayed and what doesn't. It sure isn't easy! haha!
Pretty much a hard pass for me. Very little effort put into this by Hasbro and I certainly wouldn't pay full retail at release for it. At the end of the day Axe Woves is just not an iconic enough character for me to want this. The Rex helmet? I was all over it at preorder, but this ......meh!!!!
It would be great to see some of the more Iconic helmets made, but that would involve new moulds and investment in tooling wouldn't it Hasbro!!!!!🤔
You nailed it exactly, Paul! This is the very definition of "the least effort for profit" for sure. And I too am VERY excited about the Rex helmet as well. Can't wait to get that one in hand! And there were so many characters to choose from in The Mandalorian, it's clear Hasbro took the path of least resistance here. If only they DID watch my channel and read the comments here, right Paul?! haha!
