    Most of the reason for nose heavy jumping is the length of the take off ramp. the 4 seaters wheelbase is longer than the take off ramp. ideally you want the whole vehicle to be on the take off ramp slope before any wheels get into the air. this allows the suspension to equally load. And yes, rebound settings and throttle input have a factor too.

    Smaller tires like 30s would prolly give it a better 0-60 time

  • @GuardianGrove
    @GuardianGrove Před 5 lety

    Maybe the long wheelbase causes the jumping issue? On jumps that size, at that speed, it looks like the front end was already leveling out before the rear tires even left the ground. The only solution is more throttle! ;). Great video. I love the Turbo S but it's way too wide for my purposes.

    • @URBANAMERICANTAC
      @URBANAMERICANTAC Před 5 lety +3

      The face of the jump needs to be equal or longer than the total length of the unit. Also, letting off the throttle when on the jump causes bucking too.

      I will agree that CVT is not the most robust tranny to use, however i think they still are a good choice because you can really find a good spot to run the motor while running it hard. With a gear transmission, you will have to find the right gear and rpm to rum a section at. With a CVT, you basicly just look at your speed. RPM is usually constant. They also seem to be easier to crawl though rocks with. Maybe one day we will get better belts that can withstand anything we throw at them.

    I know, I know this is great to watch, but the truth is, showing this action in commercials is what is 'helping' to keep our hospital's E.R.'s busy, isn't it?
    Right now in our area , at least, the news media are all about ATV collisions and injuries to younger children,..and some adults too, who think they are children while riding ATV's.

    • @kenrodriguez9645
      @kenrodriguez9645 Před 5 lety

      Reg Sparkes One of the reason UTVs are preferred is because they have a rollcage and 5 point harness. ATVs are notorious for rolling over and falling on the rider. A roll in a UTV you might a bump or bruise, but no way will you have broken ribs, crushed lungs, broken vertebrae, broken hips, etc.
      Aka, you’re barking up the wrong tree if safety is your concern. UTVs are actually pretty safe.

      Reg Sparkes Ok. Just understand that your public safety warning on ATVs was posted to a video specifically about a UTV, where no ATVs were present in this video, nor were they talked about, or implied.
      I get your message, but I think it would be a better choice to address it to the offending party. It would be like trying to tell Vegans the health risks of eating meat... no one here is riding without a roll cage and 5 point harness, man. ATV injury rates are significant, UTV injury rates are minuscule. This is a UTV Video.

    Omg tfl STOP QUOTING MARKETING CRAP.
    Useable wheel travel is a marketing ploy they came up with to have a larger number than can am x3.
    All useable wheel travel is, is ground clearance at maximum suspension extension. They made up a stat cause their numbers don’t look as good next to the XRS
    Rzr turbo S has 19 inches front and 21 inches rear travel. The x3 xrs has 22 inches front and 24 inches out back.
    Have some journalistic integrity and research what official sources are telling you, and not just parrot them.
    Anyone can read a brochure, but people are actually coming to you for REAL information.
    The ONLY way that a stock turbo s will have 25 inches of ACTUAL legitimate useable wheel travel (defined as suspension articulation measured at the wheel without binding or locking or otherwise inhibiting any other vehicular dynamic) is never. It would have to have a catastrophic suspension failure to articulate 25 inches.
    I’m going to trademark Legitimate Useable Wheel Travel* now.

    • @rhull3939
      @rhull3939 Před 5 lety +1

      Not true. As an example, when going over whoops the wheels will keep in contact with the ground for the stated wheel travel. Maybe 13 inches down, 12 inches up. You can use that wheel travel in various circumstances. It's 2 ft 1 inch that the wheels will move to keep contact with the dirt. Not that complicated. Stop being a hater.

    • @KTMcaptain
      @KTMcaptain Před 5 lety +1

      Robert Hull you clearly do not understand what is going on.
      Your example is a true 25” of travel. Polaris made up a new term, which is essentially ground clearance at full droop. It is not a measure of suspension articulation.
      There suspension only travels 19” front and 21” rear... and they make it seem like it’s 25”s when IT ISN’T. While can am actually does have 24” of travel at the rear.
      You might be ok with continuous misleading advertisements with few correcting the record, but I’m not.
