The Lauten Eden Is a monster of a Tube Condenser. It's one of the best value propositions in a microphone I've come up against in a long time. Going after versatility in the market is a huge asset to engineers or artists who want a lot of very different sounds at their fingertips without purchasing all those mics individually. TO ME. This mic feels like 3 mics. A Neumann U47 tube, A Neumann U87 (kinda), and a Sony C800G.

Awesome video! I'm looking into a microphone upgrade for vocals and this review helped tremendously.
This is a killer vocal microphone its for sure on my list one day! Nice video bro!
Thanks!
Great channel
Sounds just like my $500 GT55 mic
Nice!!! I love Lauten Audio. I’m using the Atlantis and it’s my favorite mic. I also have the la320 which is great, I’m saving up for the Eden now
I need to try an Atlantis!
@@RecordingStudioLoser this was the best review I’ve seen on the Eden, I would love to see your thoughts on the Atlantis. I may learn something lol
Thanks man. I definitely took time with it.
This is the best video I've ever seen on the LT 386 l a u t e n audio microphone thank you for your video annual knowledge about this wonderful microphone I've had my mic for several years everything you said is exactly the way this microphone records❤ full circle recording studio🎉
Well thanks!
I got me the LA-320 tube condenser and it has crazy mojo.
Talk about LA Atlantis!! Nice video!
we'll see lots of things i need to purchase first!
The way you describe the Eden is how I feel about the Atlantis! It’s a huge mic but I love it more in the neutral position than Forward. I hope you get to compare the two because your reviews are excellent. I use it with bae 1073 no compression or with cl1b for circuitry
I have a pair of their LA 120s. They live on my drum kit as overheads, with the lowpass at 15kHz
Wow what a wonderful breakdown of your time with the Eden! I have the Atlantis for voice over as I do it for video games and animation. It .... Look, this might be heretical to say but i think it tops the U87. Not by like a country mile or anything but it's just ... I can't put my finger on it but the sound just SOUNDS nicer. Truer. Like, how you THINK you sound in your head, the Atlantis captures that.
Been requested to use both the forward and gentle setting for voice over. not the neutral yet even though it sounds glorious the other two settings seem to hit the spot a client wants over neutral. You'll really like the Atlantis once ya get one. I would suggest though. Get it soon if you want it. The prices will sky rocket. Lauten is becoming popular. a fair few studios are starting to use em' over Neumann.
I've had mine for a year now and I think I'm just starting to really open it up more. The funny thing is that I started with just dialing back my hardware on my recording chain, but recently I added a Carnaby 500 which adds lots of color, cranked up some more compression on my little devil and really really cranked up the saturation on my Neve 542 tape emulator, the blue silk button on that really adds some magic. While I mostly agree with everything you said about the the mic, after awhile I found it to be a little sterile, depending on the artist or the song. Using extra gear really brought it a new life and I hear new sounds out of it all the time just being more aggressive with my hardware. Think about it, like when you mentioned how well it handles aggressive EQ, and we all know that hardware typically sounds better than plugins so imagine the possibilities. I hear my client recording takes with even more confidence now the rest of the gear is pulling out more transients in their voice. Lastly, I wouldn't say it sounds like a C800, but it does have a modern sound in the F position. I would say it's more consistent and reliable than C800, but when done right the C800 is unmatched in it's ability to cut thru music. With that being said, the Eden sounds great, especially on a great performance.
Interesting. How often are you using it with no low cut.
I agree with all of it with the low cut is engaged I’m pretty guilty of leaving mine wide open.
@@RecordingStudioLoser I always use the low cut, which at times before I think may have been too much, but with the Blue Silk engaged on the Neve it give the low-end some real weight so I definitely don't need any more low end.
Like I mentioned in the video. Try it without using the low cut. That’s the saturation knob. You can always cut low end later. That opens the mic up like crazy.
I have an Atlantis. It’s beaten the 87 and is My fav mic I own. I don’t have as many as you but you saying it competes and beats the 017 in some cases says alot.
Lauten will be legendary I believe it.
One day I’ll grab an Eden.
Soyuz is beautiful. Can’t wait to try them.
Thanks as always Jeremy.
Btw I’m still waiting for your response on those kali monitors!!!
Response to on kali. I feel like I missed something!
@@RecordingStudioLoser there was a video. Mayb your studio tour w Andrew. You didn’t talk about your monitors or anything but I thought I saw kali sm5c and I been looking at them. Was asking bout those but Mayb you don’t have them and I was just wrong lol
Oh they are Dutch and Dutch 8cs. I may be changing that soon tho
@@RecordingStudioLoser makes sense thanks. What you thinking about getting
I have the Atlantis which is the FET version of the Eden; it's replaced most other mics in my locker and gets used on about 60% of vocals recorded here. The other mic that gets used on the other 40% is a Pearlman TM-47 - which as you might guess is a 47 clone and it sounds awesome. But again, the Atlantis does the job most of the time for most songs. I'd love to hear what subtle differences the Edan has compared to the Atlantis.
I need to get an Atlantis. I’ve only heard good things!
Thanks a lot for your insights on this mic! I got the Clarion and also two BAE 1084s and now I‘m wondering, if you ever tried the Eden together with a 1084? If yes, which setting worked best?
I’ve got the Atlantis and i love that thing. It’s a beast for sure but it nails the 3 flavors. I’m super curious about the Eden though because it’s Tube. I wanna hear the difference
You and me both! I haven’t heard the Atlantis
I looooove my Atlantis. Lauten is really a giant in the mic space.
Wonder how it compares to the Soyuz 017
Would love to have this mic and for its versatility I currently have a tlm 49 how would you compare the 49 to this because when I record the 49 that’s a stunning mic
does this actually change capsule response or circuitry? or is it just eq/filtering?
Same capsule. Different signal path. Totally different circuit.
Something completely whacky to try, and I may get roasted for this… but since it is a bit on the slow side with transients, what about pairing that with a faster small diaphragm mic and blend the two signals? Mix and match?
This or the Soyuz 017 FET for male Neosoul, Pop, Rnb, Folk vocals?
And how does it compare to the Soyuz 017?
I have the same type of video with the 017 if you want to compare. Same vocalists and songs. czcams.com/video/b07Iu2KEhEQ/video.htmlsi=7sTtcO0VlU2LUpMl
I have the Atlantis. Is the eden worth the "upgrade"?
I’ve never tried the Atlantis not sure
This artist you record, Giza ; where can she be found ?
Her stuff isn’t released yet. She’s making moves tho
Word man. If you can remember during her next session, let her know she has Love From Brooklyn !@@RecordingStudioLoser
I screenshotted Your comment and sent it to her. ❤️ she’s super cool. Super humble.
@@RecordingStudioLoser Thanks dog ❤️ Yeah, she's going to make an impact. Happy Holidays by the way 🎄
@@symdega She will for shure!!! She's Awesome!!!
Instead of using it as a snare mic, i'd throw it in the "crotch mic" position-- thst way it'll get you the glorious snare sound and still be out if the way of getting smacked by accident.
Oh it’s absurd. For sure.
I wish I could afford 3000+ dollar mics, lol
Give The United Audio u87 a try its 2 mics in one and its on sale for 500 its a killer vocal microphone.
Save save save!!
@@donsoulo4617 it's not that easy, it's not that easy, it's not that easy :)
@@NoeAnton once you figure out how to make your microphone work for you (make you money), taking out a sweetwater credit for 18 month 0 percent apr deal and paying 200 a month won't sound so crazy
@@outlawedbeats I'm not in the US, I'm not eligible for that kind of thing. There's a few distributors locally, and the price gets even higher with import taxes. But I get your point. I'm happy with what I can do with the mics I have for now though, nothing as fancy as this thing but I have an antelope Edge Solo and an Aston Spirit which both bring me great results. :)
The rapper didn’t sound too good. His vocals sounded muffled and smothered.
On which setting
