- A break from the rain and cold led to me going out for a short hike around the Weardale/Teesdale area. With bright sunshine (but still windy) I ventured out to ascend two hills, namely Long Man and Five Pikes. After ascending these two summits I return to the car via a very picturesque small valley, Sharnberry Gill before heading off to video a little special factoid about something in the local area, but what could it be?
Total Distance3 :- 4.98 miles (8.01km)
Summits achieved :-
Long Man 1755ft (535m)
Pawlaw Pike 1601ft (488m)
Five Pikes 1568ft (478m)

Hi Duncan. Did you do this over the Easter weekend? If so, I was out struggling across Snowhope and Outberry Plain on a wild camping weekend. Inspired by your videos. Bumped into another hiker as I reached the road back down to Westgate and one of the inevitable topics of conversation, your inspiring videos. All the best!

Thanks for all of the lovely vlogs. I am a new subscriber and we are travelling up to the area at the end of this month. We are coming with a couple of dogs (that will be on lead) a couple of campervans and looking for suggestions of easy walks as one of us has a bad back and another one of us has a ankle injury. Any suggestions on where to stay and which walks to do would be much appreciated.
