    I got my tinnitus from being in hospital when I was 16 in Canada was born there . With a high temp 106 for 1 week, when released from hospital 10days later I slowly developed tinnitus and was full blown by the time I was 20 and continued to this day with some minor hearing loss. Thanks god for that !

    I suffer from 30% hearing loss in both my ears and have dealt with struggling with conversations for a long time. I’ve now been using AirPod pro’s for around 3 months now, predominantly in the workplace environment and can honestly say they have been a revelation. I just couldn’t accept paying upwards of $2 - 3,000 per ear for hearing aids knowing this tech was just round the corner. I’m glad I waited. Cons (not really cons when you look at the overall savings and benefits) are start alerting they are running out of charge around the 4-5hr mark but I generally stick them back in their case at lunch time. The case acts as a mobile charging station so by the time you get back from lunch you are good to go again. I just stick the case with the pods on charge at night like I do my phone. Another thing that might concern some is the need to purchase an apple phone or tablet to set the AirPods up correctly. You can get a relatively lowly spec iPad for very cheap nowadays brand new. You just have to make sure it can be updated to the latest iOS software. Another pro is you’ve now got a pretty cool tablet as well. All this is still magnitudes cheaper that pretty low spec hearing aids - you know, the kind you have to put batteries in and cant listen to music through or are noise cancelling for example. It’s a no-brainer 😉

    You are an amazing specialist! I was considering getting Air Pod Pros, since I haven’t used any headphones after getting tinnitus. I completely agree with you. You don’t want to mask the tinnitus (get used to it). I can hear mine now with complete silence and most of the time it’s literally repeated background noise that doesn’t bother much at all. Still hoping for a cure, but habituation is the next best thing.

    I am intending on buying the Apple AirPod Pro and downloaded Mimi a few minutes ago. I’ve had tinnitus for many years and my husband’s method of speech is to speak loud enough at the beginning or a sentence and then drivel off to nearly inaudible and I find it most annoying to always be asking him to repeat. Right now I am using JVC around the neck ear pods which I like as I am retired and am always listening to lectures on CZcams for personal enrichment and it helps not having to deal with that tinnitus.. Watching a movie is annoying at this point as I cannot make out the dialogue and my husband does not like closed caption so in order to not annoy him, I forget the movie entirely and watch something on CZcams which I can hear. A lot of movies audio goes from whisper quite to ear damaging loudness and this make the ringing I hear, all the worse, I don’t want more hearing damage. Looking forward to enjoying Apple AirPods with my iPhone I already have.

    • @Entertainment-ev6ob
      @Entertainment-ev6ob Před 2 lety +1

      @@mkinkade7103 you get tinnitus from listening to music too loud. Doesn’t matter if it’s AirPods or earbuds. The major factor is that they provide no caps to the sound you put in your ear and just let you get tinnitus without any warnings. It wouldn’t be such a big issue if tinnitus had a cure but the fact that this shit has absolutely no cure and they don’t notify you in any way is insanity why nobody is talking about this. What’s even more insanity is that your ears will slowly degrade without letting you physically know it doesn’t want to hear that loud of sounds. It’s like touching something that’s hot and not feeling it until all of your flesh is burned off. Why doesn’t your ear acke in pain or anything??? As far as you know what your doing is ok.

    •  Před 2 lety

      @@mkinkade7103 This actually happened for me having the left apple airpod pro a lot in my ear in transparency mode but majority of the time without sound on. So for a long time after this happened I didn’t use my airpods, but read about an issue online where someone got them replaced by apple because of a manufacturing defect. So yesterday I did the same and also got mine replaced for free. However I’m not confident using them again because of that my tinnitus is still present, however rather moderate. So question is now if I should trust the replaced AirPods Pro and start using them again and follow the recommendations in this video or if I should completely stop using AirPods Pro…

    I have a question:
    If a patient gets a "hearing-improvement" device (e.g., Airpod Pro) other than the expensive prescription hearing aid, and as a result is able to hear very well and is no longer socially isolated, would that prevent dementia as good (well?) as a $$$$ prescription hearing aid?
    Please note the key words "...able to hear very well and is no longer socially isolated..."

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  Před 7 měsíci

      It's hard to give a definitive answer. The best treatment for hearing loss is a prescriptive hearing aid. While an Airpod Pro may seem like it's helping in the same way, it's not likely that it would be stimulating the neurons in the audiotory system the same way a more expensive hearing aid would.
