I would assume that more people ended up immigrating during biden's time im office because they applied towards the end of trump's term. So it's to be expected that the immigration would be finalized a year or so later.
My wife and I are hoping to make the move to Canada sometime soon for a better qaulity of life and a fresh start in a new country

I moved here when I got offered a job in Calgary (the most American city in Canada as I am told). The people in Calgary are easy to strike up chats with and I see lots of different ethnicities and cultures (as a caucasian). I guess because Alberta is the energy province and has that in common with texas is why they say Calgary is like that. But, I notice many people from all over the world make their home here (so it must be welcoming which is not typically american). The weather is for sure interesting.... ;) [apparently, reading is not essential]
we have oil, that doesn't make us like Texas no more than oil makes Saudi like Texas. We live on the edge of the Rockies so the weather can change fast.
Services and applications or paperwork for citizens was stalled under trump years. The country was rotting away. Finally, good work and programs are functioning again. Lots of US Citizens came here during the 70's too. Rarely does one go back. Health services, programs for all ages, no income tax on a Lottery win or any other win, extra safety from firearms, and workers are protected with PAID vacation, holiday, maternity time, or injury rights. Great videos from your channel ! cheers !

Job security? You mean working for Tim Hortons for 15 CAD/h? There are hardly any good jobs around here (Nova Scotia). You have to be self employed or have your own business and both come with its own challenges and there is certainly no job security in it. Teachers are probably an exception and they are doing extremely well here (I dont think there is any other job that pays so much money for the time working and it is indeed a safe job and excellent pension and union).
Thank you for this. As an American who has moved to Canada your video is spot on. I often struggle to summarize all these topics when people ask me about the move, now I can just send them this video. The only thing I would point out regarding the political aspect is that I personally find that regardless of who is the current President, the same political climate and political issues remain ingrained into the fabric of the society and culture itself.

I'm an American but would rather live in the United States. Because Taxes in Canada are way Higher, the Healthcare system gets really packed. It gets very cold there in the Winter, while here in the U.S., we have very Warm climates, like California, Arizona, South Carolina, Florida, and Texas. Same! We’ve been interested in moving out of the US for years. Political climate and horrible healthcare were tops but now we have two girls and I can’t ever see myself sending my children to any public school in any part of the country. The education system has been a joke even when I was a kid but now it’s absolutely dangerous and backwards. There’s just way too many pros to leaving than to staying. We’d love to visit and consider Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Europe in general, even New Zealand but Canada seems more realistic but definitely want more real accounts of American emigrants.
I would like to hear from American immigrants on that as well

Stay home you wont reget it once Biden is gone. TRUDEAU IS WORST. I am an 82 year old Canadian and would love to live in U.S.A. without Biden.
Canada changed rules this year, so non imigrants can not buy property in Canada no more
How goes your search? Property anywhere in Canada on the lakeside tends to be very, very expensive.
Interesting.
Thanks for putting out this informative video..
Reason 1 made me fall of my chair.
Last i read, some americans humorously commented that they'd move to canada if trump got elected. Never heard that for biden( and his number is higher).
IMO,
This could be a function of underlying seasonal factors outside of the presidential victory of Biden.
Better if data is analyzed pre post victory of Biden for a shorter time frame, say month over month to validate if insight no 1 is true : More immigrants enter canada due to biden's victory.
What do you think?
It could be that immigration takes a while and by the time the new president is selected the previous wave of Americans move (those who started immigration because of Trump). But we couldn't find more solid confirmation on that. If anyone finds anything, it would be an interesting read 😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
For sure, Canada has more imagration pathways and better quality of education 👏 👌 👍

There's probably a lag on how US election cycles affect immigration, since one doesn't just up and move to Canada one day, it can take years to line up the pieces. My wife and I do consider the possibility of political violence in our calculation to move to Canada, at least as much as any frustration with policy or political deadlock. One thing I was surprised to see not make the list was climate anxiety. Maybe people just don't understand how bad it's going to get, but Canada is poised to be a great place to ride out a hotter planet, for ourselves but particularly for our newborn daughter.

100%. For my wife’s health issues, we go to India each year for treatments. Healthcare here is so bad that last year there was not a single medicine available for kids for whole 8 months. We had get the medicines couriered from India or cross the border and get those from Buffalo.

I was surprised at the Biden v Trump numbers. Though there have been lots of scary regional political decisions during Biden
We were surprised too! It overall feels like more of a lagging/compounding effect
I'm not overly political but I admit the political climate here in the US is wearing on me. Both sides act like bitter sports rivals that can't stand anybody across the aisle. That extends to more politically active voters. Of course I don't know what it's like in Canada though I have seen the UK parliament and how crazy it can be there
Agreed
Things are much more civil here !
Although Canadian media does love to pick out the rare moment when Canadians behave in extremist ways. Don't believe it when you read it, those moments are rare. Most Canadians can disagree with each other politically and still enjoy a civil dinner together.
Your comparison of immigrants during Trump to Biden eras is seriously flawed. REmember, these applications take time and have you examined each one to know when they were initiated? Also, an applicant can be simply fed up and leave for fear of Trump returning to power in 2024 and leave US & A despite their favourite candidate being in power at the White House. Remember, Trump's 2024 campaign still dominates the news 4 years after he lost.
That’s exactly what we mentioned in the video.
Just better up here dog

I want to move to canada because i live in jordan and i honestly feel depressed being here and i want to study university in canada
A) just dug up a little, your number seems to be flawed, B) still, almost all the top-notch successful people have moved to the USA be it businessmen, investors, fashion, music, movie, sports celebrities or top surgeons, engineers, astronauts. So, what exactly are you talking about? Lol
The title and the video are self explanatory, please watch again if not sure what it’s about 😉
Mostly people from subcontinent have moved from Canada to USA after getting citizenship in Canada for money climate and less taxes
@@rohanutep81 agreed! It’s not mostly but for sure almost all the successful people move to the USA. For smarter people Canada is a part of journey and not the destination.
@@raihanabbasi3535 Well at least for people who think they are smarter...but if things go south for you, you'll probably go north if you can because of the softer landing. Medical bankruptcies are virtually unheard of in Canada.
@@marymacdonald7810 here’s a quick one - there’s a reason why the USA has 10x more people despite being smaller in area. Crappy weather, Communist style government won’t help the most. Canadian governments can pretend to be good all the time though. Lol
If you want to move to Canada, you should really check out the taxation of your wages,,provincial tax, Goods and Services Tax, gas tax, carbon emissions tax and income tax. In the end you will probably ending up paying roughly 50 % of your earned money to taxes. I would advise you to stay away from Canada.
Reality is - all developed countries have taxation. Some choose to live in a third world country just to avoid high taxation. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s a lifestyle choice.
C'est quoi un américain?

I think people are still considering the move out of the U.S. since 2016. Even with Biden, the risk of a Trump victory in 2024 is real.
it feels like there are systemic issues with the US that stretch beyond Biden or Trump. The fact that those two are the only candidates to choose from, is alarming.
So lets Americans go to Canada , and we go to America😂😂😂😂😂
😁
we have secretly controlled Hollywood for decades.
I think you are giving a skewed look when comparing Immigration numbers during Trump and Biden Administration.
Since the Trump Administration. There are two major factors , which contribute to Canadian Immigration from U.S.
The overturning of Roe vs Wade. And aggressive Anti 2SLGBTQIA Conservative State legislation.
Both of which can be traced back to Trump Administration/ GOP far Right influence.
You’re right Tom. There’s also a lagging effect to election results and immigration that stems from it
It also takes two years to become a Permanent resident if I am not mistaken. So since you only did 18 months. All those people would have had to have moved during the Trump administration.
Safety is my number 1 reason. I don't want my (future) children to be murdered here in the United States. It's likely they will, statistically, so I am being proactive and researching international options before I have them.
Do all immigrants who move to Canada.
Thanks for the 24/7 Traffic.
Overcrowed grocery stores, malls, concerts or any other event.
The destruction of community centres, hockey arenas, grocery stores and hospitals, just to build more condos.
The elimination of any culture of community. All local pubs gone.
No need for amenities that the city has to pay for like pools or arenas anymore.
They keep using the excuse "aging population". What ever that means?
But I think we have that covered by doubling populations in major cities.
What zoo do you live in? I cannot think of any Canadian town or city that does not have functional Arenas, community centers, City Halls and grocery stores that I can zip in and out of easily. Yes traffic may suck in some cities but that is not unique to Canada. What on earth are you going on about?
@rwilsonweir5697
All these things are true.
And all have happened in Surrey.
3 grocery stores, all within the city centre are gone.
Since this post is 3 months old, there is an update. The last bowling alley will be closing soon.
The recreation centre with a pool and Gym are schedule to be torn down soon.
We also lost a roller skating arena.
The 7 story outpatient hospital is a condo tower.
Instead of concerts all the time like they had in the 20th century, we have a cover band playing in a pub considered "an event" now.
Maybe you think society is better in the 21st century. But from my perspective there is way less culture now.
Of course they cancelled the Santa parade again.
Actually Vancouver only has protest parades now.
No more sea festival.
Italian days is a day.
When there actually is a concert, you pay $500 to see singing and dancers, but no band.
I couldn't care less where the immigrants come from. They could all be Irishman each carry a million dollars. It doesn't matter.
Packing more people into the country solves nothing.
Why should I have to pay for housing with my tax dollars for other people.
I don't like socialism.
Like they say:
"Socialism is great until you run out of other people's money."
@@rosssmith8481 Well that is very disappointing to hear. I actually used to live in South Surrey back in the early 90s and White Rock was delightful and while Surrey was beginning to grow it was a functional community. Sad to hear that so much has changed.

It’s a well known fact that the US has the majority of 400 ponders waddling around. Canada needs to watch itself, but it still can’t hold a candle to American lardos!
The video lacks nuance. There are good and bad things about both countries. I've seen enough CBC Marketplace to know that Canada is not perfect either.

We are still concerned about how Trump is affecting our nation in HORRIBLE ways. Yes, Biden won, but will that be end of Trump?
This is scary. It just goes on and on. The USA is in great danger.

Now let’s see how many Canadians move to America? Oh wait, America won’t give you permanent residency. It’s not as easy as in Canada to become a permanent in America.

the bigest reson why i would move to canada is my rights as a Trasngender adult here in the us is being threatened
💯💯💯 Canada is more liberal!
As a gay person, I moved states in the U.S. to get to a more welcoming area. I still would prefer living in Canada because the politicians seem to despise those in the LGBTQ community or they stay silent on the issue. Mass media likes to keep the issue going as if it is a two-sided debate on whether or not gay, bisexual, lesbian, or trans individuals should have any rights at all. It isn’t a question, in my opinion. I don’t really think either party truly stands up for LGBTQ people at the end of the day. Democrats seem to be quiet most of the time. Republicans openly bash the LGBTQ peoples.

That's probably true for minimum-wage jobs, but for jobs requiring a university education the pay is lower in Canada while the taxes and cost of living are higher.
@@sexygeek8996 do you have a fb or messenger or email?.
@@sexygeek8996That's true! But the higher taxes and lower net compensation (of rich Canadians) buys universal healthcare, relatively safer cities, and peace of mind!

I didn't feel any safer in Canada than in the U.S. so I'm not sure what peace of mind you're talking about. At least in the U.S. I am allowed to defend myself and my property and I don't have to wait for months to see a doctor.
I'm chilling in Canada as an American who moved here in 2018. We got PR last summer citizenship n 2 years. Health care is MUCH better as it is free to low cost.
