I had very high expectations but the reality or I'd say the dark side of Canada was unbearable for me... non-existing Social life is what makes a lot of people to leave in my opinion.I had been told all of this before I went but I didnt believe and didnt listen and so I learnt hard way unfortunately.Well, whatever, we all have a different taste for everything in life...just want to add that before Canada I had lived in London for many many years and I have to say Canada doesnt even come close its 2 different worlds why did I always think that the grass is greener on the other side is beyond me.

Also the social life, night life, the atmosphere of city is just out this world whereas in CAN everything seemed dead I could not possibly handle it mentally.Also very few to almost zero job opportunities, cost of living is incredibly high and it doesnt match with two jobs, no education or even things like driving license is accepted unless it was issued in Canada.All these things just added up on my situation...

I did the same thing when I moved to Australia, and now when I move to Ecuador. There is an element of safety being with people who know the neighbourhood, and have chosen to live there.

    Unfortunately, Airbnb has been "invented" 2 years AFTER I landed in Canada. So, no I was not able to use it.
    But I was able to negotiate a 2 weeks stay at a cheap hotel (sheets changing and cleaning only once a week). I even used the hotel address to open a bank account. I also moved alone, with absolutely no help, and no one picked me up at the airport. Everything was exactly as planned months before landing in Canada. The only problem that left me speechless was "references". If you want to rent an apartment you need references. If you want to apply for a job you need references.
    How do you resolve these references in a country where no one knows you? I have faxed them! I asked former employers and landlords from my home country to fax references to a Canadian landlord where I filled out a rent form. It worked!
    I also used the emailed version -they sent me a copy by email - to get a job.

    I'd really like to move to Canada and work as any job, literally, the economy i much better than my current country, let's say, I wanted to work as security. My biggest concern is how to legally be allowed to stay and work in Canada until I get the legal citizenship, I don't know what papers I need, I don't know anything, and my plans are really big. It's as if, I had a can of food to eat, but nothing to open it with.

    But wait, you didn't mention how you got inside Canada. You just applied through the Express Entry program and got enough points to enter and later started looking for a job? Or did you have an invitation from an employer beforehand?
    Maybe you will not be able to see my comment, but if anyone can, please tell me :)
    P.S. I am going to receive a Master's Degree in 2 years, and my English skills are excellent, and I even speak some French, but I have no long-time job experience. Is there a chance for me to enter Canada via Express Entry or are my dreams unrealistic?

      I had received an express entry visa to enter Canada. I did not have a job offer - I started looking for a job after I got to Canada, and was lucky to get my first job relatively soon - it did require for me to move to a smaller city for a bit

    Are there any pros of moving to Canada after doing a healthcare degree ?

    • @MakeThatChange
      @MakeThatChange  Před 2 lety

      Depending on which country you come from, you might have an overall better salary and lifestyle with the degree. Depending on where your degree is from you may also expedite getting Canadian equivalency and get a job in healthcare. I would say that if you are truly passionate about healthcare and see yourself doing it no matter what, then it's definitely worth it. Some are not happy with the work-life balance and pay for doctors in Canada, that is why many opt in for moving to the US after getting their citizenship in Canada

    Is there anything positive about moving to Canada? I hope to see a video about that. I don't understand why I hear some foreigners still considering to move there when I've seen nothing but videos of all the negative stuff and why people should leave Canada. I'm a Canadian who's born outside of Canada and have lived my entire life outside of Canada. I've only been back for vacation. But in a year's time, I may have to make the ultimate decision whether to move to Canada or stay put in Asia. All those negative videos out there are pretty scary to hear about bad healthcare and rising cost of essentials.
