- Hi there folks, on this video I am going to show you all a fantastic way to get your hands on one of the best weapons in the game far earlier than you should, the US556. I always look for ways to keep ahead of this game in terms of advantages, and this one is fantastic, as the US556 is one of the most accurate weapons you can get your hands on in Days Gone. A huge shout out of thanks has to go to @PS5Secrets & @greyghostgamerz for their information provided in their fantastic videos on the method used to get there I needed to be to create this video.
- Hry
Great video, Borislav, and thanks for the shoutout! Without delving too much into spoilers, I would encourage those who make it to this region early like this to explore around as much as possible! As long as you keep gas in your tank, there's no specific reason to rush back. There are many cool things to discover including an area that will be inaccessible after certain events transpire later in the game. There is also an MMU to be cleared, and I'll let your viewers ponder the significance of that fact.
An absolute pleasure with the shout out mate, you thoroughly deserve it. I've already subscribed to your amazing channel, and when I get the time, I'll check out more of your videos as there's a LOT of them that have caught my eye. Once I found out about this amazing way to get to the Iron Butte area really early, I had to put out this video as I was always very aware of the US556 location, and the chance to show getting this bad boy early, was to good an opportunity to pass up. Thank you my friend, and I liked how you finished your comments.
I came across your channel last week and found your videos very interesting as i didn't know you could access a locked region before unlocking it.
8-Bit Terror also made a video on early Iron Butte access recently. But to the best of my knowledge, only Borislav has shown us how to pick up this weapon early without grinding for Level 3 trust at Hot Springs.
At this point Boris has blown this game so wide open his name appears in the end credits!
Lol, I would love this to be true, but thank you Marlon for the very kind words as always. Always appreciated.
@@borislav247You do have a supporting role in Last of Us 2, in the Hillcrest section. I had to smile when I saw your name in the notes about WLF resistance.
Lol😂
Boris mate, what an awesome find!
You might remember how long of a post I put on Reddit about getting the US556 early, but "legally"...
This weapon is the most penetrating, precise and damaging anyone can get in early regions, so it can be a game changer to have it while we don't kill enough hordes to grab the IDF Pup (which has much more expensive ammunition, and we can do so just prior to heading South because of locked hordes).
Despite only being able to replenish its ammunition in camps or using the saddlebags, it is much more worthy to have it this soon (to deal with aggressive wildlife, any sort of freakers, human enemies and even hunting) than any later. How easier so many stuff (infestations, ambushes and other random encounters) can they be with such a balanced all-round weapon!
I don't think I'll replay the game to do this myself any soon but knowing these news regarding alternative in-game strategies are always very cheering.
Thank ye so much!
A very informative amount of extremely accurate information Amauri, thank you so much for that. Always love to read you're very kind comments my friend.
I love this game so much. I play it over and over and over. I can get so caught up in the scenery and the soundscape is impeccable. I wish they would make a sequel.
You and me both my friend. And you're so right about the scenery, it is truly stunning.
same here,i am currently on playthrough #53
@@gomerblackmagic man that’s awesome! It never gets old and I’m always finding something that I missed the previous play through.
Nice little piece of information for those in need of a better weapon
Thank you Darryl. This is what I will do when I finally do a NORMAL playthrough, lol.
@@borislav247 I'd watch a normal playthrough definetly just to see how you would play like the majority of gamers would. I suppose you would make the game look ridiculously easy but certainly very watchable. I'm actually on a second watch of your survivor 2 playthrough, part 31 already, to accompany my own 2nd play. I'm also letting all ads play to completion, you deserve it my friend for all the tips and guides you have given to all.
@@darryl280 Very kind words indeed Darryl, thank you. And, at some point, I will show a full playthrough where I will show what I consider to be the best way to get through this game in the easiest way possible. This will show all my priorities, decisions, and they will be well explained. Will be a nice one to do, but this will be a project for next year my friend.
Wow, this is proper crafty tactics at its finest.
Plus, the early exploration advantage option is cool 😎
When I play this again, I will definitely do this.
Thanks, Boris, for the amazing advice 🎉
Oh Angela, exploring this area is a truly surreal experience when you don't have as much trouble to deal with, especially as certain areas change a touch later in the game (Not giving away spoilers for anyone reading this). Just a shame there ain't more good weapons here, but I'm looking all over Days gone for any more high end weapons like this, as most of the good ones, you simply get from killing & looting the marauder & ripper heavies.
Boris when you got the bike into position on the approach over, I loved the excitement I got knowing I was going to see something new. Over a thousand hours playing and I've just grabbed ol iron tooth for Tucker. Thanks for sharing
An absolute pleasure my friend. Thank you for watching.
You can also explore the other side of the dam. Something i thought before was not possible. Of course, after you and boozer blow up the dam. It becomes inaccessible. Great video my friend!
You most certainly can CS12. Thank you for watching my friend.
Hello friend! I'm sorry I've been away... Summer activities with the kids. Lol
I look forward to catching up with your videos I've missed today! The extreme play thru..
I caught a few, and as always its a treat !! I'll never be able to take on that.. lol
I hope you and yours are well and enjoying your summer ⛱️
As always , I appreciate you, my mentor ! ❤️
Never apologize for spending time with your family my friend, that is what life is all about. I'm all good my friend, and actually on holiday at the moment, so getting some relaxing time in to my life. You take care Kahn.
Plus it gives you a chance to set a few traps for the carlos/jessie mission... always a good idea!
As usual, nice one boris. I'll be trying this one. 👍
It most certainly does Will, as you can easily get over to the complex given that certain things haven't happened yet. It's a surreal experience visiting this place before you're supposed to. Areas like the dam and Carlos's HQ are strange to see and visit, lol.
@Sparrowhawk1962 That is a great idea. A few well placed proximity mines and bombs would make the dam sniper mission much easier. 😊
Getting both US556 *and* SMP9 (from killing hordes) in the early game??
So powerful. No excuse not to take on hordes 😄
Nice info.
Hey Cap, appreciate you commenting my friend, but I was a bit confused by it. The SMP9 can be unlocked by killing hordes very early, but the US556 can't (as it's simply not a weapon that gets unlocked through killing hordes). Once you reach Lost Lake, the maximum amount of hordes you can possibly have taken out is 8 (4 in Cascade & 4 In Belknap). And the next weapon to get unlocked through horde kills is the Auto Shotgun (10 hordes required for this one). Eventually, you do get the IDF Pup (but you require 20 Horde kills for this bad boy). Getting a chance to get the US556 so early after reaching Lost Lake, is the big advantage, as it's very close to the IDF Pup in terms of stats, but obtainable far sooner than you will ever get the IDF. And you have it for the entire duration of the Lost Lake missions (unless you change your primary weapon of course). I may have not taken your comments correctly my friend (especially as I know you are very knowledgeable about Days Gone), but just wanted to clarify that this weapon can only be got through purchase at Hot Springs or picking it up in the Iron Butte region. All the best CK.
Ha ha …thanks borislav, just reached lost lake in my second play through and you dropped this. This gun is wicked. Love the feel and sound of it..
Oh fantastic, that is good timing indeed mate.
That’s really cool Boris 👍🏻 awesome video my friend
Thank you Shannon. This is something I will use myself when I attempt a normal playthrough, lol.
Jeez mate, i wish i knew that about 40 replays ago. Intead i grind for that bloody MWS and then the auto shotgun.
Great vid. Thanks.
My friend, things are about to get even better, as I release a video today showing how to get an MG45 as well as the US556, to basically turn Deacon OP weapons wise, as well as showing another really cool advantage.
@borislav247 Looking forward to it. Love that accent as well as the tips and tricks
Boris my friend you are the oracle👍
Lol, thank you my friend.
This is fantastic. Can't wait to try it. I've got a game save from the entering lost lake mission.
Superb mate, then you are good to go with this one, and the early trip into Iron Butte region has more than this to offer, which I'll be showing in another video soon Allan.
Boris, we need a route into Iron Butte coming south from Tuckers. Getting an AR that early would help tremendously.
Rest assured my friend, I thought about this too, and I'm working on it as we speak, lol
That would be amazing! The Cascades are annoying to traverse without fast travel, but Iron Butte is much more open and easy to navigate. Being able to take that route without dealing with the ambush camps first would be great.
Lol. Motorcycles are incredible. Someone should climb Mount Everest on one.
LMAO, love it.
Hats off to you once again Boris, very nice..
Thank you SP.
I think that you can also open the Nero checkpoint that is on the other side of Rogue Camp. If you have fast travel available, this makes getting back into Iron Butte early easier.
You are a smart man my friend. Another gent has mentioned about this, but didn't give anything away to get people thinking. You have clearly thought JB. I was playing this on Survivor II, so couldn't check this out, but this should be possible.
Lol, I wasn't thinking about spoilers, but you are right on that point. Still, I think that anyone looking into getting into Iron Butte early probably has already finished one playthrough. 😊
@@JBost-en9tq Very true mate.
awesome Brother, you know im a sponge for anything DG
The legends of Days Gone channels always are my friend. Thank you as always for watching GBM.
I always knew about picking up the us556 when you go fight Carlos at iron butte but I never knew about getting this early
Well, I'm delighted you know about this now. It's also a fantastic area to simply check out without most of the enemies you normally get here.
@borislav247 I don't think I'll abuse this since it's a bit of a cheat but really cool to just explore the area, especially the dam and the other areas that get destroyed. 👍
Thanks for this helpfull video !
An absolute pleasure mate.
Incredible find , it's just amazing how you and other hardcore gamers find all of these exploits. Just a thought , since missions aren't active , would you be able to fast travel back as I didn't notice any infestations ? Brilliant my friend !
Thank you my friend. I can't take any credit for the method to get into the Iron Butte area early (PS5 Secrets & Greyghost Gamerz showed me this one their videos), but I immediately knew a fantastic opportunity was here because I knew about this weapons location, hence the video my friend. And you are a smart man. No infestation zones showing at this point, but there is a Nero site here. I never tested the fast travel option as I was showing this video played on Survivor II, so it would be disabled for me, but I think the fast travel will be possible, and the ability to place early traps, could make some future missions in this area very interesting indeed, lol.
Just got back from Scotland and lots of videos to binge watch!!
Superb TD, and you got some fantastic weather by Scotland standards for your holiday.
@@borislav247 yeah we did, it was fantastic weather. And I have around 4 hours of your videos to watch, that's even better...
Thats great to know for another playthrough enjoyed that video did you do that on one of your extreme playthrough saves regards ian
Lol, you have a good eye Ian. The bike will have given that one away, lol. It most certainly was one of my saves from my extreme playthrough.
TY! Saved. 😉
You are too kind sir, thank you.
Thank you bro! great explanations., any other weapons that we can get early like this?
Oh I'm looking for them all now my friend, and any gems I can find like this will be shown to you all. There must be more than this in the Days gone world. Plenty of low end guns can be picked up, but I want to find the good ones, lol.
I was thinking about the ammo and explosives caches hidden in the hills surrounding Iron Butte. I can't remember if one of them has a good primary weapon though.
Thanks Borislav 247!
An absolute pleasure NS.
Awesome...
Thank you my friend.
Hell yes! I despise the MWS. TYVM.
Amen to that my good friend, lol.
Can you make these for all the best weapons in the game? I'm planning an extreme playthrough with rules slightly different than yours. I can't buy weapons but I can use any weapon found out in the world.
I'm going to do my best to find out the locations of every weapon that can be picked up in Days Gone my friend, as they can't have just placed one like this, but not bothered with any more. When I find more, I'll let you know my friend.
It would be hilarious if Cloverdale has a hidden weapon somewhere. Now if a certain someone can figure out a bike jump past the fence... 😂
I just arrived a Camp Hotsprings... Let's see if I can open it all the way from there 😈
If you manage this, let me know how you do it, lol.
Makes me want to restart the game again. 😅
I was lucky that I had a game save of just leaving Cascade to head to Lost Lake, otherwise, I would of had to do a bit of grinding to get to this point.
@@borislav247 interesting though, I wonder how quickly it could be done
With a minimalist playthrough like Borislav's extreme run at the moment, you could easily do it in a few hours. The trust grinding and side missions are what eat up my time.
Great video as always. Will you be continuing your extreme playthrough with this weapon then, Boris? 😂
Lol, I'll be like a kid outside a sweet shop who can only look but ain't allowed in. God I miss good weapons like this, lol.
@@borislav247I could hear the longing in your voice when you unlocked the auto shotgun on your recent video. 😂
@@JBost-en9tq Lol, indeed JB.
Ye u can get cope and tucker trust 3 b4 ya start ll I got mg45 upped mag
Indeed you can, but what I love about this is, you can potentially speed through the first section without side missions, etc, in order to get to Lost Lake fast, and then get this bad boy before starting to clear up missions and other stuff, with a fantastic early weapon.
@borislav247 or you can make horde respawn by east ambush camp in belknap though b (seen someone use this tactic) Oh and I found another secret spot location that you or rex dont know about hehe (on 1 of my 2 latest vids) I kicked myself when I found it lol as I ran past there loads of times hehe
Ps i thought the gates closed at nero ripper camp? Ye the sermon there is shortcut back to belknap this neen my go to road when travelling back ti tuckers now
The 2 ripper camps here are completely empty, but they can both be accessed my friend (the wagon one only accessible from the South of course, as you're right with the gate from the North side). You need to try exploring this area early M, as it's a truly surreal experience exploring this bit without the craziness that usually comes with it.
@borislav247 ye I been using that way b as I'm on survivor 1 difficulty i miss fast travel sometimes hehe. That sermon I recognised on my way back to lost lake b. I'm not sure when that nero ripper camp gate opens but I know it opens b4 ya go to crater lake as I've done it myself
@@borislav247It's a shame no one (to my knowledge) has found an early North access method to the Wagon Road ambush camp.
Went Nomad just yesterday in the game, so that region is locked now 😅
It's swings & roundabouts here, lol. One gent commented that he had just arrived at Lost Lake on his playthrough, but you've just left the North. This one's good to know for your next playthrough my friend.
📝📝📝
Can you get over the mountain to the militia territory the same way?
You most certainly can, but, it's a far more tricky affair. Working on showing a good solid method where it can be done by the masses, because getting to the South early means you can pick up The Superior Metal Axe early, which is another fantastic advantage.
If you equip another weapon from a locker, and then do a mission (or die) won’t you lose the US556? If I remember correctly, found weapons are not added to your inventory right?
You are correct about losing the weapon through equiping another, as this weapon is not in your inventory because it was not purchased or unlocked through game missions. But as long as you don't replace it with another weapon, you will still hold onto this if you die. Only primary weapon this early in the game, that would possibly warrant me wanting to change this one, would be unlocking the Auto Shotgun after 10 horde kills. Other than that, this bad boy is worth keeping as it's a fantastic weapon. Once you unlock the IDF Pup though through horde kills, then ditch this, lol.
@@borislav247You have to kill 20 hordes for the IDF Pup, though. That is quite time consuming as at least one of those hordes is story locked behind the Nero mission with Boozer. If this weapon has better specs than the MWS, I am all for grabbing it early.
I got the gun from the truck but it wouldn't show up in my locker deacon just kept dropping it why is this happening. Great vid but I'm pissed I didn't get to keep the gun..
The reason mate, is simply because the gun has been found. Only weapons that have been purchased or unlocked through missions will appear in the Locker. It sucks a bit, but do remember. All items (except ammo from Police Cars) respawn in around 2 to 3 days in the Days Gone world, so if you decide to ditch the US556 for a bit while using another primary weapon, you can return to Iron Butte to pick up the weapon again, and my next video (coming out later today) is a real eye opener, as I show how you can RETURN back to the Iron Butte region far easier. And, there is another weapon that can be got in Iron Butte. I show this in the new video also.
@@borislav247 Appreciate you getting back to me, I've watched alot of your vids and pal you make it look so easy, one more thing I got to the riding nomad again but I'm only level 2 in iron Mike's camp and would like to get some more of the guns is it OK to keep deslecting that mission until I'm happy with what I have or do I have to do it. borislav thanks for your help stay safe and well and keep slaying the hoardes as you do take care...
@@markpoland5748 It's fine to not take the mission and continue with your business in the North. By going for all the side missions & taking out the hordes, ambush camps & Infestation nests, you will be able to get that trust level 3 you need mate.
Can its placement be random? I once found the 556 in the shed right next to where you get the puppy. Only once, and havent found it since.
Oh wow, that is really good information to know mate, thank you for that. I can confirm that this weapon is always in this location In the Iron Butte region. It's nice that people can get their hands on it a bit quicker than they would normally be able to.
