    Just getting back into course fishing after 35 odd years not fishing, these short you tube uploads are fantastic, they are so interesting and informative, I have already adapted some of the ideas into my fishing, especially setting up of the end gear and bait preparation, the result of this is instead of catching small rudd ,perch and roach which was great fun and a fantastic buzz watching a little waggler float bob then vanish with a small but perfect little fish,I caught a beautiful 4 lb common carp on the first cast on a local angling club lake it was an absolute delight, she was played to the net,unhook on a wet mat photos taken and very carefully returned, I was just fizzing over the next hour ,I lost 2 at the net plus another much larger fish which shot of like a bullet then must have turned back towards me as the line went slack and sprung the hook hoping to get out again soon,

    If you use pinapple sweetcorn and red sweetcorn they worl the best. I use pole for fishing and I landed a big carp and baby carp too.

    Was fishing for f1 carp on the top, sweetcorn, size 16 barbless. Tried loads of different ways of hooking the corn, but no matter what, they left my piece of corn and just all went for the loose corn. I couldn't work out what I was doing wrong. Used to fish all the time and hadn't been for maybe 10 years, was clueless.

      For use on the canal I only blend frozen corn as it blends much easier. I also blend either a can of rice pudding, evaporated milk or condensed milk with the corn. This creates a superb cloud. But I only use it in depths of 5 feet or shallower.

    If you ask me, corn is still the best carpbait. Even though it seems to be forgotten between all the boilies and pellets etc.

    Hi, I live next to a large lake called lough erne in Ireland and because of lockdown I can't go to the fishing shop and I'm trying to catch perch but if I use sweetcorn or worms I catch roach but if I use lures I catch tiny pike. Any tips? All I can use is worms and sweetcorn

      Depends where u are and what your after, pile fishing I wouldn't recommend anything above a 14 but you can get away with a 10 on the feeder and for specimen carp, many anglers prefer a 4 or 6, but I find that 8s are good for up to high twenties. Step up after that for every 10lbs.

    If you put the sweetcorn on the hook likethat, will the Carp not swallow it? i cant imagine getting a good placement in mouth with sweetcorn covering hook like that.

    • @cns180784
      @cns180784 Před 6 lety

      Thats what i thought, i'm sure the Carp will swallow it in fact they're even more likely to with no hook point showing. Problem for the angler is the corn masking the hook point which could probably result in missing the bite

    • @winterautumnfishing5215
      @winterautumnfishing5215 Před 3 lety

      When you strike the force should push the hook point out of the corn

    Don't chum unless you know the laws. The UK might be different, but in most places in the US, it is illegal to chum with pretty much any kind of bait. Using large amounts of corn to chum is a bad practice though anywhere... it blocks fish's intestinal tracts and they die.

      @@gbwildlifeuk8269 no it's a privatly owned lake where you pay to fish and can use many methods, but these have to abide by the lake rules, corn does not block the intestinal tracts of carp.

      Not illegal to chum in UK or ground bait as we say.
