UK Weather Forecast: A Cool And Damp Start To July (Monday 1st July 2024)

Good morning everyone and welcome to todays UK weather forecast on Monday 1st July 2024.
Current Situation: A weather system is pushing eastwards across the country...
Today:
Monday begins cloudy and west in the west with showery outbreaks of rain but many central and eastern regions are mostly dry.
Through the rest of the day cloud and showery rain will spread eastwards across the country with some quite heavy rain in central and northern regions but the south and south east will stay mostly dry albeit with increasing cloud.
It will be a cool day for the start of July with temperatures of 13C to 21C.
Tonight:
Cloud and showery rain moves away into the north sea with most places becoming dry though a few showers are likely in places. A rather cool night with temperatures of 7C to 13C.
Tomorrow:
Central and northern regions will have sunshine and showers. Some of the showers could be heavy with a rumble of thunder but much of the south and south east should stay dry. Rather cool again with temperatures at 13C to 21C.
Outlook:
Wednesday: Cloud and rain spreading southeastwards. Very cool.
Thursday: Sunshine and showers in central and northern regions. Dry in the south. Cool.
Friday: Heavy rain for a time across England and Wales with showers for Scotland. Cool or very cool.
