Manchester United have reached agreement with Newcastle United over Sporting Director Dan Ashworth.
The 53-year-old will commence his new role at Old Trafford with immediate effect.
Newcastle initially were demanding £20m compensation for the former FA Technical Director, with Man United looking to pay a fraction of that, but a compromise has been reached in the last few days.
The deal also helped Newcastle comply with PSR this month.
Ashworth has been on gardening leave at Newcastle since February.

The gardening is finally over🙏
Let’s see Dan’s garden, I bet it’s wonderful
About time. Our biggest transfer of the summer so far
Don't be silly. Barada is.
🤣🤣🤣
This is a guy who wanted Gareth Southgate as manager 😂
@@david_fitzmaurice did he tell you that? Are you in PA? Were you in the room when he said so? Stop spreading things you see on social media.
@@paulorganisation1 yes he did say that, stop sticking up for someone as if he's your best mate even though he doesn't know you exist 🤣
I think they actually think they reached an agreement some weeks ago but their plan was to announce it now
Now*
Totally agree, this is the new INEOS, their intentions are out there but the media and mostly everyone are kept out of the know until they are ready. I kind of like that, it’s less of the marketing and PR spin and more focused just getting down to business. Looks like some early transfers in and out hopefully aswell. No credit to the Glazers, but INEOS are starting to prove their worth and competence. Optimistic we are building something very good again.
Can he play left back?
20 million
It's clearly not 20M mate. lol.
Put your strimmer back in the shed, Daniel!
Right time to announce it
With TenHag at the wheel, expect more turning in endless circles. 😅
... and endless trophies 😂
@@Michaelkaydee Maybe a few national, irrelevant trophies. But no CL/PL trophies that he was paid to do. Compared to TenHag, Southgate looks like a genius.
@@Mr.Monta77 Southgate is too big for Manchester united. He should be manager at city,Liverpool and Arsenal
Amazing that Newcastle have won nothing for 70 years, and you think you can banter Ten Hag who's won 2 trophies in 2 years 😂 now Newcastle fans are gutted as
United have made a right mess of their plans by nicking their main man....more decades of nothing I'm predicting
@@lukealex6428 TenHag was hired to perform as an international top manager, ensuring that United challenge for CL/PL titles. National trophies means little in this comparison. TenHag is a fiasco. Winning national silver mens nothing in terms of silverware. TenHag has no system and everything is accidental and chaotic. Expect more the same. Good grief.
Someone got tired of flexing their muscles
What muscles? Small club through and through.
@@user-zc2sz1os3jI wouldn't call Man U small but you do you, Sunshine.
They can have dubravka again 😂
Was this not done a long time ago
I can suggest them transfers for free:
ST - Gyokeres
LW - Kvaratskhelia, Nico Williams
RW - Mikautadze
AM - Xavi Simmons, Arda Guler
CM - Toni Kroos, Fabian Ruiz
DM - Laimer, Joao Neves, Hjumland
LB - Doughty, Robinson
CB - Bremer
RB - Alexander Ba
GK - Mamardashvili,
Delusion
This isn’t FIFA ffs
WTAF,it is obvious over SJR's foot-dragging of Ashworth's 'compo' to NUFC,that MUFC does not have a big transfer kitty ! 🤣🤣
It’s just a suggestion to buy/sign 2-3. Not all of them obviously.
How long until he does the same to Utd?
He didn't know anything. Isn't that the way club football goes?
bye bye cashworth
I wish to get such a long gardening leave as well, hope he lives up th hype.
Maybe that will United in a way
How's his garden looking?

Hilarious that they've gone for that mercenary. He'll just move on as soon as a big club come calling.
That would be only one of two clubs then, both in Spain.

£4m compensation fro Newcastle is reasonable considering they making for 20m

@RedDevil_Joe it's not how long have it took them ?
@@RedDevil_Joe Ineos still paid, very close to what was being asked.
@@paulstones1451 INEOS weren’t even officially in until February and they didn’t just go straight in and pay £20m, that’s a far better approach than the club has had in the past
@@anon-zk6iz hasn’t been revealed has it? Can’t be £20m that they initially demanded
The entitlement of the Man Utd fans on here is something else mind. I shouldn’t be surprised though, after all they’re Man Utd fans. You’re welcome to him, perhaps he will see this project through, he didn’t at Brighton, he didn’t at Newcastle.
If another club comes in for him in two years, I suppose you will happily allow him to move along with no issues. Even throw him a leaving party and buy him a present. Of course you won’t. All of a sudden, mr rat cliffe will remember that contracts mean something, he does know what gardening leave is after all, and all the fans will whinge like babies. Best of British.
He actually is not a footballer 😂... it's not a signing!..a big hoo hah about an office administrator basically
Man U is cooking!!!
Cooking water 😂
If I was Ashworth I would sign the following players ASAP : Alisson, Van Dijk, Konate, Trent, Tsimikas, Endo, Szobo, Jones, Salah, Diaz, Gakpo, Hendo, and Milner.
Good old PSR saves the day.
Doubt it. Newcastle sold Minteh and Anderson yesterday which covered PSR shortfall so probably meant ManU finally realised their shitty lowballing wasn’t going to work and had to pay something less derisory.
@@Rockky67 Two ways to look at it depending on which side of the fence you sit.
Either the deal was agreed yesterday & Newcastle needed the money or the deal was agreed this Morning as Man Utd only had the money now... All reference PSR.
@@sitaylor Well if it’s the latter situation then PSR will have delayed an agreement being reached for several weeks, that’s not saving the day.
