Mojang: "There is a twelve block push limit to pistons, so you can't move entire continents around."
Xcom:
Mojang did this to themselves when they added slime blocks. I would say slime blocks were the second most overpowered addition to the game behind hoppers.
@@haph2087 i would say they're better
@@evanescentenquirer2684 I mean hoppers do enable chunkloading easily so...
More like ripping out the entire crust off a portion of the planet
Hoppers enable the required amount of slimeballs, so hoppers win.
when you can't enchant your shovel so you build a quarry instead
underrated
To me this quarry was more or less proof to myself that if TNT duping never was possible concept such as quarry's would probably never have been developed along with pearl cannons, printers and many other contraptions that directly need a large number of TNT to work. Sand and long deserts are very rare to find in your world and expands world size to explore and dig up more of them. Getting 500k sand after running this quarry for a week would never have made it feasible to ever use TNT recklessly on a server making TNT a novelty item that would be used here or there for small and unnoticeable instances, certainly not to the extend its been used for the last years or so in the tech community.
I really respect Dugged for not duping and make concepts like the sand quarry possible, but at the same time I hope Mojang takes a good look at this quarry and improves there game based on community feedback and experience then just spamming random content without depth. We need renewable sand for the same reason we need refillable gas tanks in cars. One time use concepts really makes Minecraft into a single use instance world experience that I hope Mojang can steer away from. Even though the majority of there customer base don't care and won't play the game for long. It doesn't mean that small effort could be placed in making it possible to play in the same world for longer with concepts like renewable sand, gravel and other non-renewable resources that just ruins the game experience for older worlds when all that remains is to bloat the world files to extreme sizes taking up terabytes for the sake of getting resources that only are obtained from new terrain.
i agree. nitpick tho: if you drop an anvil on stone, it turns into sand. hook that up to a cobblestone generator and boom, u got renewable sand
Husk dropping sand can even be edited in loot tables with less effort. The anvil method is one way. Not very good one in my opinion but there are infinitely many ways to do it.
@@Xcom6000 I felt this was a need addition even before TNT duplication got popular. with the recent addition of concrete to the game, now would be a lovely time to make sand renewable in a way other than "wandering traders". Man, that mechanic is useless. The best thing they provide is two leads when they get scared of a zombie.
@Maxwell Van Gulik Printers are a sort of inverse quarry. The technology is similar, but different. I personally am trying to build a block by block printer which is very different, but I am sure if there is a row by row design, it is super similar to a quarry, just with the exactly reverse block chains.
it was too long for me to read because my laptop shut down because i mis placed the charger so i dint read the whole thing -_-
Redstone engineers: makes a Sand Quarry
regular engineers: it is possible to learn this power
My mom: makes curry
watching all these videos of the scicraft server makes me feel like i'm watching a civilization that's a full point above me on the kardeshev scale
YES
Actually there is only one scicraft member involved, Robi and TT from Dugged
This gives a whole new meaning for "combing the desert."
xcom6000: 1.1k views, builds the most insane sandquary that has ever been seen.

That’s why I don’t watch pewdiepies Minecraft videos. Nothing wrong with him, just that the things I find impressive and entertaining in Minecraft are things like this.
Travis Albright I actually enjoy watching them and the views are just because he has such an insane range obviously
Imagine if you placed a piston facing the wrong way while building it
@@joopmoop4089 it could cause a chain reaction that's fucks up literally everything if everything is built right and one piston just pushes it a little to the left and now they're all stuck together with the slimes blocks and junk

@@Dot_JSON jason buddy pal, ya gotta realize, imma fuckin dumbass
@@Dot_JSON backup is cheaty
It mines technically also gravel and other gravity affected blocks
Yeah but what are the chances it ever runs into an anvil or a dragon egg?
@@TheSpeep neither dragon eggs nor anvils can be moved with pistons...
and you missed concrete powder, even though it doesn't generate naturally
@@cee_jay_0 From what I understood from the video, the machine doesnt move any of the sand, it just removes the blocks below it so it falls onto the rails and breaks. I could be wrong tho.
@Maxwell Van Gulik thank you sir, me no native speaker^^
@Octo B as far as i know, anvils are immovable (but can be pushed with slime blocks, when falling) and dragon eggs teleport, when you try to move them with a piston
You get a like just for having a good taste in Hotline Miami music. Real talk though, this is probably the most impressive redstone invention I've ever witnessed working in action in years.
I love the use of the rails to break the blocks, very innovative
Haha have you seen this though? czcams.com/video/NQG_COksMXs/video.html

when'd you even have time for this?
You see, this human is clearly very intelligent, and probably just figured out how to dilate time.
@@princesidon6606 XCOM changing the flow of time? Yea I could see that
It would take a lot more time to dig that much sand
I’ve been lookin a lot into quarries, and tbh I didn’t even think about making a quart/trencher/world/eater that doesn’t use TNT duping, so far I’ve made a half dozen simple world eaters and a few that go through the stone by bedrock for digging out areas, as well what I would consider a “normal” world eater for making perimeters.
My first response to seeing a this particular model was “well that’s one way to do it” as well as wow the guys in the slime stone dept have come a really long way since they are now changing out modules and completely retooling existing quarries haha quite impressed good job
Where do these people live, what type of food do they eat, how long do they sleep, how do they learn?
The simple answer? They dont.
They have transcended the concept of life, therefore they need no more food or sleep, and being omniscient, they cannot learn as there is nothing they do not already know.
That’s insane
This is on a new level
This looks great!
I hope this channel will blow up to hundreds of thousands subscribers in near future
The beginning music video made me trip balls
Almost 10 years and only a couple thousand subs for such a well made and edited video . . . Time for 20 more subs
I mean, I can make a jeb door, but this is pretty good for a casual player.

Future club made a great addition to this.
This reminds me a lot of those city crushers things in half life 2 that would slowly flatten anything, imagine this tearing through a massive village!

Sometimes I feel you guys at scicraft lost your mind
New Xcom video?Yes!
amazing quarry!
do you think this is fast enough to supply big technical servers with enough sand or would it still be kind of necesary to use duping or add new game mechanics like husks dropping sand?
This quarry sadly shows that Mojang should add ways around renewable sand. If dugged finished the quarry they would have gotten around 500k from the planned strip. A trivial amount for a server that plays for years.
@@Xcom6000 That sounds a bit like the real world with concrete
amazing
Hermit craft seriously needs to use this
It’s always really weird hearing niche songs I listen to in CZcams videos
That thing is massive dude... Can u upload schenematic of this.
Everything is impossible until does it.
Your about to hit 1k subs
This is amazing. I wonder if its possible to make a end stone quarry? If so would it be the same as the over world quarry design?
End stone quarry is the simplest. No water or gravity blocks to deal with. The first quarry designs were first made for the end. There is also no bottom prepping given endstone doesn't generate to y0 or have bedrock at bottom and no skylight lag. By now smokey have made the end stone farm that makes all end quarrys redundant.
@@Xcom6000 cool, I never knew about that
I didn’t even realize this just came out lol
Anakin would be proud
Xcom6000 builds sand quarry meanwhile on scicraft already has a quarry that is eating up 500 chunks and is still going
Actually is probably than SciCraft are interested in this quarry because their quarry losses falling blocks
You do know that Xcom is on SciCraft.
Also they are probably making this as an alternative to duping.
this has absolutely nothing to do with scicraft or any other server
@@robitobi01 xcom is a member of the scicraft server and if he they buildt this in creative i bet they will use it for sand regions in the future
