I am definitely trying this out; it is definitely similar to Little Nightmares, and I loved that series
😁
Bro just like little nightmare 1 & 2 2014-2021 on just like ver
a 10/10 to whoever played the Violin for the Näcken part, it sounded really good
Hey
Meh ill pass
I thought I was imagining it at first, but the final boss theme is a remix of "In the Hall of the Mountain King". Cool.
I was hoping there will be one of Edvard Grieg's compositions in this game!
The minute I saw the name back in the demo days, I was hoping the song would be incorporated somehow! Hell yea it delivers!
It doesn’t help that the entire fight seems to sync with the music!!
Instantly clocked it and had me hyped as fuck
Even cooler the sfx of his attacks match the pace and tempo. Of the song and hit on the beat. 10/10
Im not gonna lie, i kinda giggled a bit when the näcken sent the small mushroom people flying with the first violin blast
I played this a second time while my family was watching and not kidding, restarted checkpoint several times just hysterically laughing at the mushroom people getting blown away
@@CaleoGaming:3
@@CaleoGamingMario was not laughing

Man, witches are so cruel and heartless.
Skogskrå felt like the final boss for our character. She felt like the one who was causing everything and she showed him her killing her sister and yeah she just feels like his true enemy
She is the most significant of all, because her defeat means Olle loses his innocence. From that point on he is no longer the scared little boy he was, but a young man willing to go till the end.
Plus that deep scar on her back gives me the chills. Even her death looks like a final boss death. Its kinda terrifying. And 39:33 like wth was that voice. It kinda sounds like a UwU voice.
Ngl I thought she was the final boss but I'm glad the game continued after her
That wasn't the Skogsrå's voice, that was Olle being yeeted away. xD
The stabbing part on her head, was it optional to either kill her or not?
I really do love the use of Swedish mythological beings in this game and that they're names are spelled correctly.
It manages to show how horrific the otherwise lackluster stories of my country's less ancient mythology.
I also like the very typical, older Swedish names of the characters.
They really made Näcken absolutely horrific.
Fun fact: the developers who made the game are actually Swedish based
Bro... 10 out of 10, the baby dying killed me though man.. like dammit bro... he's just a lad... he shouldn't have had to bury someone so much younger than him! the Skogsra fight... bro Olle went through so much man... it hurts... not all heroes wear smiles or capes...
I love Pesta's presentation. The lights on and out, not unlike how the Thin Man of Little Nightmares came to be.
The way she just appears behind him in the boat like that? Gave me a bit of a spook.
It's like a Mystical Horror Version of Little Nightmare.
And with an actual happy ending no less. Go figure
It's like what if *Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons* meets *Little Nightmares* but (according to @Savage Wolver ) with an actual happy ending.
It's like a combination of Little Nightmares with Outlast 2.
@@sahar3820 I don't think it's outlast, outlast is a first person game. :/
Olle and Six are basically the same with the difference that one ate a gnome and the other sacrifices gnomes
One nice touch in this game is that when the butcher and King Nils attack Olle, their weapons leave marks on the surface.
Didnt notice that nice observation bro
The whole game really brings feels, fears and beauty to Folklores in general and I dig it alot 🎉
I like how “The Plagued Village” leads up to Pesta, the personification of plague and disease
I also like how the battle with Pesta is basically Olle fighting the plague itself. Fighting him mentally & spiritually while in Reality, Pesta can’t turn him into a zombie like the poor villagers.
I wonder why Pesta wasn’t able to do that.
@@kauedasilva1072 My theory is that Olle was mentally stronger then the villager’s due to what he’d seen during the events of the game, and therefore had more of a resistance to it
@@rosegarden37 There is actually an explanation as to how he can have fought off Pesta. Pesta usually arrives with two tools in hand. A broom and a rake. Where she uses the broom, nobody survives but where she uses the rake, some will live. In this game, Pesta used the rake.
14:09 Nacken chase and 14:33 most intense moment moment in the chase
1:01:24 post fight
1:02:28 beginning moutain king fight
1:03:46 second phase
Some hellblade type isht
I think that Pesta's boss was by far the most disturbing. This game is amazing!😊
Pesta and Karrhaxan. The way it was dark and she would just jump out of the water screaming at you with one hand trying to grab you with the demonic aura around her Yeesh
Skogsra's boss fight was fun. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a boss fight. She has my vote for best boss fight of the year.
I found the boss unfitting for this game, the mechanics clunky and the fight overall too long, it had the feeling of a final boss while being a mid game boss.
@@FelixS.Kratos will take the boy under his wing
Strange that the demo for this game had the third boss pretty much front and center, normally demos try to avoid that sort of thing.
I think that may be why they didn’t do more with that boss.
@@BloodRedKat they probably hand-picked that part for the demo to give anyone who played it one hell of a first impression.
They had some serious confidence in their game to include one of the biggest sequences in the demo, and it was absolutely justified.
That kinda game I would've never expected boss fights in.
Yet 1 of 3 hours playtime are boss battles, and really epic ones!
Olle shouldn’t blame himself for those he couldn’t save; this world is not his home, and he’s just a little boy. There was nothing more he could‘ve done, but the next right thing
As for those he hurt, he had no other choice if he wished to save his sister and bring her home; a cold-blooded killer isn’t driven by good intentions
It's more or less true.
The baby dying actually made me cry
Each of them reminded me of a Little Nightmares boss in one way or another
The Butcher - The Chefs/The Doctor (ugly fat brutes)
The Troll - The Janitor (creepy scrawny kid snatching freaks)
Näcken - The Granny/The Hunter (Scary swimming monsters/use a ranged weapon as well as pursuing relentlessly)
Kärrhäxan -The Lady/The Thin Man (creepily approached the kids to grab them and had to be repelled on time by a good light/power)
Pesta - The Teacher (Nightmarish folkloric old women)
The Mountain King - Monster Six (Giant tragic final boss)
Karrhaxen is not getting the hype it deserves definitely the scariest character design of them
For me personally, Pesta was the scariest. Karrhaxen is a close second tho.
Jack and The beanstalk meets Attack on Titan and Little Nightmares
Varför säger du så?
@@enkhtemuulenodgerel6175 Tiny Human vs Giants -> Jack and the Beanstalk, Attack on Titan, Little Nightmares. Also the aesthetic feels like a more mature, “realistic” Little Nightmares.
🤦♂️
Fun fact: The Skogsrå is the Scandinavian equivalent to a creature in Slavic folklore called the Mavka.
I feel like Pesta was giving Olle a chance, it is said that when she steps into a village with a rake in hand some would die, but if she was with a broom in hand, everyone would die.
31:07 this part made me cry a little 😭
41:09
Girl messed up with the wrong kid💀
This game is awesome. I can’t wait to play but seriously it needs to win some awards.
Little Nightmares but Norse Mythology edition!
I actually love it!
That Skogsrå fight though. o.O
The music and the ending of that fight. Holy fuck!
during the final boss figth you can hear edvard grieg's 'in the hall of the mountain king' playing. and i think that's beautiful
1:04:16 I love how they did a remix of Edvard Grieg's song ❤
I freaking lost it when Näcken blasted those little guys off the screen... 🤣
But damn this is such a well made game!
my theory ,Pesta was the punishment that the forest inflicted on the village for having burned the forest, when the men hunted Skogrå. if you think about it, the disease remains limited to the village almost as if it had to stay there. However, I am Southern Italian, many creatures are also in our folklore such as gnomes, trolls and Skogrå who in my region call her "the beautiful lady of the woods". there is a version of Nacken which in our country is called "Marabecca", but its form varies from area to area of the country.
P.S. Sorry for my english
Pesta is the personification of The Black Plague
The scene when u defeated mountain king it was super tragic....😢
The Lemus was trying to help her as a good sign atleast Olle was still with her, the ending tho... i just tought that he was lost but thank god Olle was alive ❤
ah yes, the wonderful world of folktales
I really like some of the angles, specially for the Näkken
The way Nacken turned its head is…
Yeah.😨
And then slowly went into the water
Am I the only one who sees and hears the final boss in sync with the music or is it just me?
I was just about to comment this. Final phase of final fight basically becomes a rythm game and I love it.
This game is Limbo + Little Nightmares in almost Elden Ring graphics. haha love the monsters.
I probably won't lie when I say that I fell in love with Skogsrå
So the flowers are piloting him like a fleshvangelion? The mountain king, that is.
I think he still has power of will, but went stark raving mad. Only when Olle damaged the bramble, his sanity restored.
I appreciate you bro
@@scott-gaming.8834 I like how he smiles when he swings his sword!
I have no fucking clue about what I just watched but it was amazing, loved every second of this game lol
The soundtrack of the final boss
The final boss second phase ost cause me dying😂
So it's a Action Adventure Horror Caleo? Can't wait to see it ❤❤❤
Amazing storytelling, i really need this game
Great edit. You captured the game perfectly. Great game. 👍
Sad, dark and beautiful.
Good lord that Skogskrå fight was beautiful and epic.
European folklore is something else
All Bosses are AMAZING!
The game looks awesome! This is my first time learning about it.
Nacken death so brutally
I'll always be loyal to Little Nightmares, but this is *NOICE!*
Anyone else think that the Näcken is actually based off the Fossegrim since it plays a Violin??
Näcken is another name for a similar creature, although the Fossegrim isn't inherently evil as it can teach you how to play the violin for the right tribute. There are quite a few names for the näcken, stretching from northern Scandinavia to all parts of Germanic countries. The British Isles have a version of their own, better known as the kelpie.
fossegrim plays the fiddle though. in swedish folklore näcken is often depicted as a male water spirit who plays the violin.
@Alexander Dashit I heard kelpies had a reputation to drown kids when they get near to them is it true
@@jamesporquez3682 From what I've heard/read, yes, so they have very much in common with her norwegian nøkken. But the kelpies are of scottish mythology.
I never been so scared of this badly than this
Easily one of my favorite indie games of 2023, so many cool folklores and boss battles
Was anyone else absolutely terrified and horrified by the butcher and his ost? I know he's only the first boss, but he's at the top scariest for me.
Also, fun fact: According to the ost, the butcher's name is Coless
This game is freaking TERRIFYING. 😮
Lemus is an MVP in this game
Just awesome my friend
Gorgeous crain this game
I love how after Nils finally slays the bramble and removes the curse, he stands to his full height once again and his head brushes against the chandelier like it was a crown, like King Nils finally returned to his status as a true and noble king, even if only for a moment.
Bro this game is creepy and scary as f**k...I LOVE this kind of staff soo good 👍
This is similar.... Also, the first video I watched was when you do all bosses of Prototype 2.
bro the way the nacken snapped its head to look at the protagonist was so sudden it made me jump a bit.
that final boss music, I know that tune anywhere!
I'm excited
This game gave a Little nightmares & Undertale feel
Karhaxxen and skogsra. Would smash, next question
Waow! This looks awesome!!
Vad kan vi säga. Sverige är best
😢 the music of the baby
My heart aches on the baby scene 😢

this gameplay style should be use for Little nightmares 3
Ok real talk tho. Anyone have a link for that Mountain King boss ost....please I beg thee

It's a song called In the Lair of the Mountain King
Is this game made by the creators of "Inside" and "Little Nightmares"!?
no
Kanske
lore accurate german boy
Swedish, but yes.
@@CaleoGaming i was more so making a funny haha since there is a stereotype that german fairy tales are uncanny brutal, henceforth, a german boy that would have been adapted to such stories, would thrive here
15:06 this looks familiar...Oh yeah that one part in INSIDE
25:00 hold on they spittin
That troll is blind!😂
The swamp area scare the shit out of me
Little nightmare vibes and I love it
This games like a scarier little nightmares
Pesta introduction caught me off guard
0:21 Oh, gosh, I can only imagine how disgusting it must feel if you ever walk through those piles of rotting meat IRL.🤢 And the stench...Pee-ew! I bet it's enough to make you lose your lunch.
Boss 5 probably the best ST
41:29 GOOD GRIEF
1:05:50 this music 😂
Pesta was definitely the scariest boss for me
I memorized all of skrogsra's spells.
Teach me
@@CelestialxTrash It’s been a while since I’ve played so I forgot. Try turning down the music and memorize what she says. They aren’t very difficult. I also don’t speak her language so I can’t type them out
@yungsteezy4500 oh okay fair enough
Omg master splinter is the first boss of the game
I was feeling like little nightmares
The plague part was terrifyng
43:28 that plagued village reminds me of outlast 2
a plage tale!
more Resident Evil hehe
What a creepy ass but beautiful game
Sounds like the dreaded evil cackle of Darth Sidious 50:30.
12:31 hah the troll turned to stone, like in the myths
Pesta and Karrhäkan absolutely scare me
Just admit it...
This is little nightmares 2 ending that u want.
