  • I recently made some money by using my laser to do a job for my old archery club. This video covers the ideas and processes that went into it.

    What a great way to see how you can put your laser to work for you! The 3D trophies are a fantastic idea! ❤

    "Just because you can do it doesn't mean you always should" Great advice right there.

    Awesome! This was a lot of fun to watch, Mark. The video production quality was top notch and those projects turned out really nice. It's really cool to finally see what you've been talking about for a few weeks on the We Built a Thing podcast.

    Nice video. I think you are underselling the learn value of this type of project to your viewers. Though the end product is very client specific, there are several general learning opportunities here. The pre-staining of the wood, using layers, using thin layers for increased cut speed, cleanup method, value of CA glue PLUS accelerator, use etsy to find the pattern or something close to save time, because we can't make more time, making trophies that the client can finalize for place to save cost for the client, double sell to your client (the tumblrs) for events. Keep up the great work!

      Well I appreciate that. Thanks for letting me know the value of a project like this.

    Mark, this video was very well done!
    I was hooked from the start and the 6 min video felt like one of those CZcams shorts (in a good way). What I'm trying to say is that I really enjoyed this video and feel that only a semi mad man would glue all those pieces together.

      Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I like to try and keep my videos condensed and to the point. And I am thrilled to hear I have been downgraded to only semi-mad.

      @@GunflintDesigns yes. Only a truly mad-man would do all this without making a monetized video as well 🤣
      Keep up the good work!

    Thanks a lot for all the tips!
    Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

    Those came out so great! I bet they were a hit at the club!

      They loved them! But the awards ceremony was cut short a bit this year. That whole part of the state was under water the day after the shoot, so everyone was leaving to get away from it.

    What brand laser do you have, are you happy with it?

  • @felixfromnebraska8648

    Mark, What kind of Laser Engraver do you have in your shop. It looks like a large machine, and I'm thinking of adding one to my woodshop business.
    I love your channel, my friend. Felix

    Hey Mr. thought you had forgot'n us wyoming folk... good to see your post, hope all is well with you & the family....👍
    Wouldn't mind getting one of the tumblers if there are any left. Please send a link if available, thx 👍

      Never! I'll always consider myself one of the "Wyoming Folk." I'm just more like a foreign exchange student right now. I don't have any left, but I could always make more. Before I do that though you should check with the club. codywyarcheryclub@gmail.com

    What’s the laser you are using?

  • @aaronporter2180
    @aaronporter2180 Před rokem +1

    Do yourself a favor and use double sided tape instead of ca glue. It makes assembly so much easier. You can apply before you cut and the just peel the back and stick them together.

    • @dwwoodbuilds
      @dwwoodbuilds Před rokem +1

      so you are saying to use double side tape for a permanent bond?

    • @GunflintDesigns
      @GunflintDesigns  Před rokem

      That would be convenient, but I've never met a 2-sided tape that I'd trust to hold permanently. Plus, its hard to be much faster than the CA glue. I am looking into the possibility of using a sort of heat-transfer adhesive - that might be faster, but probably more expensive to use.

    This is pretty much just a commercial

    • @GunflintDesigns
      @GunflintDesigns  Před rokem +2

      If you chose to watch it, then the content must have been in some way relevant to you. If the tips in the video were somehow lost on you, and you only managed to see a commercial, then those ads should still would have been relevant to you because you chose to watch this in the first place.
