I just came across your channel because I typed “I hate my puppy” into the search. EVERYTHING you’re saying is what I’m going through! I had just got bitten, HARD, and I threw a tantrum. Luckily my calm husband was there so I put myself in a timeout and he took care of the puppy. We’ve raised several dogs, all labs. This is a lab. I had no worries going in. Labs are easy. Nope. He bites, destroys things, jumps on people, but I think what I wasn’t expecting was the loss of my freedom. I’m frustrated and resentful. I’m 52 and too old for this shit! What were we thinking???!!! Thank you for your videos. I know we’ll get through it😢
Sorry to hear you're having a rough time. I totally hear you on the loss of freedom. I think that issue, which is sort of the "prisoner in my own home" thing, is one of the sneakiest experiences on the list. You rarely see it coming and it can be really intense. Fortunately, it does get easier. Your freedom comes back in bits and pieces over time. Hang in there!
I could have written this!! Im 51 and definitely too old for this and keep kicking myself. What the hell was I thinking!! Luckily I also have a calm husband but sadly I didn't listen to him when he said let's not do this again....I know it will be okay eventually but right now it's rough! Thank you for your comment. ❤

@tracym6784 thank you!! My boy is a 3 month old aussie. He is a very good boy most of the time. Just the very normal puppy stuff. I'm sure this phase will go fast. It's very helpful though, to know I'm not alone!
1. That thing where your mental health takes a hit, everything sucks, and you kind of hate the dog.
2. You're a prisoner in your home because the puppy screams when you leave them alone for two seconds.
3. Bedtime is the worst and sleep deprivation is no joke.
4. Puppy "play biting" is not at all what you thought it would be. Like, not AT ALL.
5. Taking your puppy outside is a nightmare because they try to eat every bit of random shit they find. Sometimes literal shit.
6. You successfully potty trained your dog... or so you thought.
7. Your other pets hate the new dog and you’re being eaten alive by guilt.
What is rediculous is that I've had dogs my whole life, but my 13 week old lab is having me eyeball high places to jump off of. I KNEW what I was in for, like I've lived through it before. Yet, here I am screaming "OHMYGODSTOP" in my head. All. Day. Long. Also...I am so tired.
Guys, I just wanted to say a massive thank you. I typed “why does my puppy hate me?” after day 5, she was absolutely uncontrollable and I was sat in the garden in floods of tears.
I’ve read everything you’ve produced whilst nodding and crying in equal measure. We are working on things now but the singular biggest challenge for me was knowing that all of this is normal and that it’s not me. Thank you, seriously, I thought I was starting to have a breakdown.

yes all these! i resent how many youtube videos out there that claim u can housetrain your puppy in 7 days:( it took iver five months, solid five freaking months! now we good but occasionally he doesn’t care and will pee but we are over the really bad phase. Get a shampooer for your rug, saved my sanity. My vet said its totally normal for pups to regress and take a full year to house train 😂
