  • Installed the levels performance front mount intercooler on AJ's 2016 Focus ST2 along with the cold air snorkel. The install was fairly easy and this was the first time either of us have done this. SUBSCRIBE for more videos like this!

    Move the battery to the trunk it will help the CG , you can use any battery you want and it will leave a huge area to run plumbing etc . A remote battery kit is about $30 to $60 .

    Just want you (the OP), to understand that intercooler "do not add power", they just keep the stock power there when things heat up such as when temps go over 90°F or after a few mild pulls. Heat soak occurs, that saps power. That's where the intercooler upgrade comes in. Typical power losses in a heat soak is around 8-12 hp & similar tq losses. I also tell people of you want s high performance vehicle do not move to the Phoenix or Palm Springs area. The heat in those cities from late Apr to late Oct is 100-115°F which pushed DA (Density Altitude up towards 5000-6000 ft which will suck up 18-21% of your hp no matter the upgrades. It turns s stock ST's 6.4 sec 0-60 time into 8.2 seconds. When DA is 5300 ft or more it takes a full 2 to 2.2 seconds off 0-60 & 1/4 mi times. Ghats why the 1/4 tracks are closed all summer out there. Ans winter is more like a humid 88° degrees in S. Florida. At least slightly above 1200-1500 ft DA's. Also upgrade the radiator, its fans and a cooler engine temp thermostat in desert climates..

    Just a couple of pointers, 1. Never fit a dry o ring, as they can damage easy as when dry because they grip and can roll, you want them to slid in(red rubber grease) 2. If your hoses blow out and suck in, you need to get better reinforced hoses, silicone may look pretty, but proper hoses give better power, it is a bit like why you fit braided brake hoses.

      Mr Pittsburgh if you’re not driving the car hard too often or for long times then probably not needed but if you do you will definitely see the power loss from the heat soak. So it all depends on how you drive

      @MrPittsburgh Před 6 lety +1

    • @WorldsOkayistGuitarPlayer
      @WorldsOkayistGuitarPlayer Před 6 lety

      K24 FB6 there isn’t a way to recalibrate the tune after modifications unfortunately. But the car sure loves that cool air regardless. As far as the powertrain warranty is concerned, since I had it & the exhaust installed at the stealership 😎 the warranty isn’t affected. That FMIC might raise some eyebrows if I take it on for warranty work however 🤔

      Thanks for the reply! I just emailed a local dealer that offers ford performance parts, I currently have an mbrp catback (factory dp) exhaust and I wonder if I get this installed would they give me bs on the exhaust causing a problem if I had to do a warranty claim? We’ll see what they say about my exhaust and this performance package. I have the exact car/color btw but mine is a 2017!

    • @_manny
      @_manny Před 6 lety +1

      The catback exhaust will not void your warranty. The only way to void a warranty is if they can prove a modification you made broke the part you're trying to get warrantied.

    • @WorldsOkayistGuitarPlayer
      @WorldsOkayistGuitarPlayer Před 6 lety

      K24 FB6 is you’re in the states and have a motor malfunction of some sort, Ford essentially has to prove it was the aftermarket part that caused the issue. The Stealerships get paid to do warranty work, so they will generally go to bat for you to get ford to honor the warranty work. However if Ford DOESNT warranty it, the stealership knows you’re in a pickle and either will pay for the repairs yourself, or trade in a broken car for one on the showroom. So it’s kind of win/win for them

    • @K24FB6
      @K24FB6 Před 6 lety

      Manuel De Avila yeah I know, I was just saying if something were to fail engine wise, I don’t want them to blame the exhaust since it would be the only “aftermarket” part.
