Sometimes you can find a melody that seems to understand you by enveloping you through the peaks and valleys of the song. Like a mother holding her child.
Thank you for saying what I couldn't 🙏
Such a beautiful reflection, wow
Fell in love with this theme and the movie has a whole was great. RIP jòhannsson
A very underrated bassist who has been on the scene for a long time.... Great player and composer from Iceland!
😢R.I.P great master Johann Johannsson 👏👏👏
beautiful piece by Jóhann Jóhannsson
and beautiful film by Panos Cosmatos
You will never see a movie as good as mandy for at least another ten years...simply beautiful in every way.
@@christophermaynard1902 I wholeheartedly agree!
@@JacksonDuncanDesigns a lot of love went into mandy and you can definitely see it. The movie stays with you. Very rewatchable.
@@christophermaynard1902 absolutely! You can feel the passion of everyone involved. The music, the cinematography, the lighting, the writing, it’s all beautiful in so many ways. Some ways that are eerie and haunting, and some ways that are so purely beautiful you almost want to cry. The most beautiful part of it all being cheddar goblin, of course.
Certainly an unforgettable movie.
How many times have you seen it?
@@JacksonDuncanDesigns 3 times I watch it every year as part of my Halloween marathon of movies. Check out the terrifier series. Great 80s throwback movie and as crazy as it seems for a gorefest the second movie is getting kinda mythical in its own way. Great synthwave score. Just like mandy in a lot of ways. Different movies but very similar in production.
This songs melody is so beautiful. It seems to just fade in from the cosmos and then falls into a hum in the back of your mind.
Really nice Skúli. Love the textures. We played together back in Boston ages ago.
Sublime, thank you. I've seen this film inumerous times, allways discovering details and the sounds are haunting and beautiful.
Inspiring.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
this song is amazing, ethereal
Very lovely it has a sad melody makes you want to cry 😢 symbolises the love for red and mandy Cult classic film!
This gives me immense goosebumps. Beautiful...
beautiful!
This Means a Lot to me personally
That is bloody beautiful!!!!!
I adore this song! It's so beautiful!!!
wow. this is deep sorrow sounds. with lots of love over the top. beautiful.
Please Jóhann, one more.. :/
Amazing!
Emotional 🥺
❤❤❤
I know it probably has everything to do with the effects being laid out, but I feel like I'm seeing and hearing two completely different songs.
There's a mistake in the edit. If you download the video (!) and unlink the audio from the video, then align the start of the audio to just after the Ident - it's perfect. What's obviously happened is when they dropped the ident in it offset the visuals from the audio. So on this vid the audio starts as we see the ident. It shouldn't - the audio should actually first be heard when we first see him in the fade up.
@@FluffyBunniesOnFire it's the exact length of the intro title. The editor has made a mistake when they dropped that graphic in. It has displaced the rest of the visuals forward. The audio stayed in place and started immediately, the video is offset by the length of the ident. If you search on Google for ...dailymotion mandy love theme live . You will see a video by GhostNoodle. Watch that version. It's in time 😉
im trying to learn this song on guitar, and i would really appreciate any advice. im trying to find the right chord shape to go with the descending melody in b minor. it sounds like he's moving the whole chord in relation to the descending theme.
I’m right there with you, I’m stumped on this as well. Have you found out anything?
💟💟💟
🥺🥺🥺
👍👍👍👍👍👍💓💓💓💓💓👏😍
All that beauty came from a bass guitar??
Pedals too, it looks like they recorded 3 tracks.
Shimmer, octavers and reverb for sure
@@chikoavena3407 yeah but still I'm amazed by the symplicity yet how it captured all the feels
@@ConanObrien22 oh yep, totally agree. The OG one actually has alot more going on, synths, guitar... but this one is awesome as you said bc of simplicity and it captures the same as the original!
@@chikoavena3407 hello! I’m not very well versed in audio effects for music production, so I’m just wondering, what do you mean by they recorded three tracks?
I love love love the melody of this song; it’s so eerily and hauntingly beautiful. I really want to learn how to play it and create music inspired by the sound that Johann created and Skulli expertly recreated :)
Thank you! 🤟
@@JacksonDuncanDesigns it is really easy to split signal, the bass is dry, but it is splittled in 2, shimmer reverb and the other one is pitch shifted. There you go, three tracks!
Is there a backing track or something because otherwise I really don't get where these sounds are coming from. I see he has a volume pedal and he plays basslines but what about the "guitar-ish" sound?
There's probably a delay going on
Its a mixture of the volume pedal and it sounds as thought theres a long sustained wet reverb and delay. Hes playing the notes whilst the trail end of what seems like two chords before is still ringing.
@@Gobbostopper Oh now that I watch this, I can see that he plays the lead lines way before we hear them. He plays the static base chords and then the lead line through the delay and reverb and then he fades that in. Great stuff.
Somehow it feels unmatched with the audio
It's the delay.
@@eraldylli indeed pure dsp -- - - - granular synthesis/pitchshifting à la soundtoys christallizer e.g. which gives msec delay ... outside the camera is a computer with a vst , either that or uhhh something else
@@eraldylli It's not an audio delay, in fact the audio is offset in advance of the video - it's a mistake in the edit. The audio happens BEFORE Skúli's fingers move to the chords. What's obviously happened is when they dropped the Ident in it offset all the video +4 seconds down the timeline, putting it out of sync. To be clear: it's not possible for any audio delay effect to produce sound before the guy plays !
I synced it properly for my own pleasure, and it's so much better, but I can't upload due to copyright obviously. But if anyone wants to do it: download this video, then unlink audio/video, and start the audio when the ident fades out, that will give you the original sync.
@@pajzd No, it's an edit mistake. The audio is before the video, no VST or module will make sound before you play it ! It's an edit mistake which can be remedied. Download, offset the audio to start when he appears (after the Ident) because it's the editor mistake he dropped the ident in while a/v were unlinked. If anyone remembers dailymotion there's a possibility that the cryptic code /video/x7tnuqf may help
hyakushou
Jaco wept....
Wish the video and music were in sync
