    any tips to make this a portable setup using a portable power bank?
    I currently tried both a 2a and 2.4a usb output with the pictures connect and the usb monitor connected to the pi and I get the colorful box in top right of the pi.
    When I connect the pi via 2.5a wall outlet I have no issues. Is this strictly a power issue and could it be overcome with a configuration setting?
    I also attempted to power the monitor to a power bank but I get no video displayed when connected to pi via hdmi and other power source.

      Take the sd card out , download notepad ++ , put it in the computer open the config file with notepad ++ , ad the lines of configuration where the hdmi lines are . Replace or just insert the code , save file , insert back into pie . Job done . I figure you probably know this by now but it might help others who need to know 👍

    I wonder how it will react on big demanding games with the screen power by the pie. I used a 5v 2.1 amp power supply when i first bought it my pie 3 and it kept rebooting. So i guess 2.5A is pretty near of what the pie is demanding.

    Can we use this lcd out of the box with raspbian or retropie, or do we need installing driver and configure it?

    • @Horusaem
      @Horusaem Před 7 lety +1

      For Linux based
      max_usb_current=1
      hdmi_group=2
      hdmi_mode=87
      hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0
      hdmi_drive=1
      in config.txt by doing sudo nano \boot\config.txt and addit those lines anytwhere without adding the prefix\# sign. or lookup in the overlays
      All this can be found on the TRUE manufacturer wiki site wich is Waveshare ;p but it will work on clones most of the times at your own risk...

    Do you have an opinion of this screen vs the Official Raspberry pi screen? would love to see a video comparison of the two if you have one.(cant remember if i seen a video of it or not since i've been subbed)

      If i get one i would be using a raspberry pi 3 but you can use whatever you want, it seems like a decent quality hdmi screen at 10.1"and 1280x800 resolution. with the "stand" it comes with it can make both a nice portable or stay at home media center, etc. Just want to know more about it and since theres not that many good videos on it to be honest. and if its worth the $120-$150 price tag
