@@harrystone4068 because hayden is older than he was in rots.
@@harrystone4068 Hayden Christensen has aged gracefully over these 17 years. Obi Wan's always putting younger Anakin Skywalker down no wonder he said to Padme that he's an overly critical and jealous Jedi Master because Qui Gon Jinn wouldn't have done that because he understood Anakin's emotional insecurities and instability growing up as a slave insecure in his place in Life in The Galaxy. Awesome job editing this dude I really wish Disney would have done something about de aging Anakin Skywalker to be young because Disney should've been able to easily do this to make it believable with Hayden Christensen's younger Anakin Skywalker but I'm not complaining 😎. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.
Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years
ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of but not macro or micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

I feel like Anakin as he said "It's over", the cheer on his face he was having was like he was desperate for some praise from his master. Instead, he recieved lectures and some degree of disapproval from Obi-Wan, which apparently did not please him.
yeah honestly it was a great moment showing Anakins slowly built up resentment for Obi-Wan. Feels like this could've happened right before Anakins rant to Padmé about Kenobi at the start of AOTC.
Maybe. Anakin was a talented, but very cocky Padawan. Obi Wan had to be careful about praising him.
Especially in this full fight scene. Anakin was trying to use brute force. Obi-Wan was trying to teach Anakin about people never giving up, and not getting getting arrogant in a duel.
The full scene had Obi-Wan dodging and stealing Anakin's lightsaber with the force. Obi-Wan turned the fight on the arrogant Anakin.
@@TheBigExclusive Yes I can see what lessons Obi-Wan was trying to teach there. Whether he actually taught it in most desirable way however is questionable. Say if Qui-Gon was trying to teach the same lesson here, I would imagine him opening his sentence with affirmation of Anakin's abilities and then advising him to improve his skills with more impatience during duels. After all, Qui-Gon was one of the wisest if not the wisest Jedi in Republic era, he would know the perfect balance between praise and lecture, which was also why Anakin have always desired him more as his master.
@@TheBigExclusive This part also shows the problem with Obi-Wan's teaching. He is careful with Anakin because he knows he is the chosen one, but sometimes he is too careful which resulted in some unwanted negative feedback.
he praised tho he said he is a great warrior yet his keen to prove himself blinds him which is exactly related to your comment
Anakin: Hey Im pretty good
Obi wan: No you still have a lot to learn
Palpatine: Good Anakin GOOD!
Anakin: Ah see this guy gets it
Funny comment, but also, really interesting! Its a perfect way of showing Obi Wan is right when he says "your need to prove yourself is your downfall", as it was exactly what palpatine used to manipulate Anakin
@@ded-inside5904 Yeah Anakin is a passionate person, Obi wan usually kept him in check with his calm nature and rational thinking and they were good friends, makes ya think what might of happened if Anakin was allowed to go with Obi instead of having to spy on Palpatine.
😂 That’s literally what it was.
Spot on, just like when your S.O disapproves of your behaviour but the attractive girl, whom you don't have a relationship with, encourages you because she likes you. And now you feel validated by her, so you're more interested. It's crazy how manipulation can be played. Palpatine knew
@@ded-inside5904 or it shows Obi Wan kinda fucked Anakin in the head by never giving him positive assurance and the need to prove himself grew bigger mostly maybe to prove himself to Obi Wan, I think it's been shown that Obi Wan being the Master to Anakin and not Qui Gon was a big thing that ultimately caused Anakin downward spiral
OMG when he says at the end "what a sore loser i would've turned to the dark side too" i just cracked up haha, short and sweet
That's exactly why i just subscribed to this channel too, LMAO
i laughed so loud at that comment lol
I think this scene perfectly portrays their master-padawan relationship. Obi-Wan was trying to teach him something but didn't do it quite effectively. It showed that Anakin's fast progression was too much for Obi-Wan at times, it's why he was feeling he was holding him back. And you feel for Anakin because he basically won the fight, Obi-Wan turned the tables but his attitude didn't help the lesson he was trying to teach him. Obi-Wan clearly doesn't like Anakin's over-competitiveness but his way of scolding him brings Anakin's resentment to the surface.
It's very strange because they are both right in some degree.
And Palpatine fueling his ego doesn't help at all haha!
No. Obi was just sparring. Like they agreed. It was only when he was embarrassed that he lost, that he chose to change the rules. That's a bitch move.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi show sucks but Ewan McGegor and Hayden Christiansen still have the chemistry they had 17 years ago. For any of the idiots who say they didn't have chemistry, they bounced off each other very well in the Prequels so any tension or resentment between them was INTENTIONAL. George Lucas spelled out very clearly what the issues in their relationship were, just like he spelled out the "overly complicated and confusing" plots of the Prequels clearly enough for CHILDREN to understand but even now, nearly 2 decades later, there are still plenty of morons who don't get it. If nothing else, this show can at least pull off a decent scene when Ewan and Hayden are sharing screen time but I attribute that more to the actors themselves than anybody behind the scenes.
Deborah Chow is an above average director and to her credit, she has said that she wants to be judged by MERIT, not by the fact that she was, let's be honest, a diversity hire who was chosen more for her gender and ethnicity than anything else. Fortunately, she brought some talent along for the ride in the directing department - not in the writing department but that's not her job - and the scene where Obi-Wan exposed part of Vader's face showed that she has considerable potential if she's working with something decent. However, she's still light years away from George Lucas' level of skill. He knows filmmaking inside out and back to front. Very few directors, especially in the younger generation, have even a quarter of the knowledge that George has about cinema or storytelling. Actually, I suspect he's the most knowledgeable filmmaker since Stanley Kubrick shuffled off this mortal coil.

This scene explains two things from AotC.
1. Why Obi-Wan was against giving Anakin a solo mission and calling him arrogant.
2. Why Anakin felt restrained and held back by Obi-Wan.

Yup, both were right.
Anakin was extremely capable, especially considering his age, but arrogant because of it and still immature to boot.
"You underestimate my power"
Nah, just accurately estimated your arrogance.

To be fair we had both of these explained already by the prequels. This just reinforces it.
I find Anakin incredibly relatable in this scene, we’ve all had moments where we feel pride in ourselves and then someone comes along and puts a dent in it, causing resentment for said person. Anakin’s face at the end wasn’t the face of a bruised ego, it was the face of genuine hurt
Obi-Wan did fail him after all, as did the Jedi order.

But you are being proud in something that should remain a humbling experience. not a prideful experience. Anakin was blind start to finish. that’s the point.
I mean, if I bested my teacher, I'd be proud af too. It's like "Look how well I'm doing!" And then no... scolding....
@@Visceralreality, @Zombi_slayerz He put too much stock in the opinions of others, as most do. This made him easier to sway.
@Alan It wasn't his pride that turned him. It was constantly being shat upon by the Jedi Order, him taking it to heart, paired with the potential loss of Padme, that drove him into the arms of the only man, he felt, had been in his corner from day one.
Anakin's style of fighting was always more aggressive. That and the fear that he might be going to the dark side kept Obi-Wan on edge for most times. This can also be seen when Anakin was denied the rank of Master, Obi-Wan didn't object even if it means that he failed to train Anakin properly and instead displays disappointment when Anakin was pleading for his case. Obi-Wan should've been the last line of defense, without his support, Anakin found his support in the dark side. So yeah, in a way, the Jedi and Obi-Wan are actually responsible for Anakin's turn to the dark side and in turn the downfall of the Republic and democracy.
You sound like one of the millennials who can’t take responsibility for their actions…”I killed a classroom of child students but my parents who didn’t love me are to blame!” 😭
@@2geezgodaries I didn't defend what Anakin did mind you. But, everything happened for a reason. At least now, we can understand that Vader is the result of the Jedi imperfections and arrogance. The dark side was able to cloud the Force because the Jedi were too confident. Count Dooku was suspected to possess malicious intent but this too was ignored, by claiming Dooku, as a Jedi would never turn to the dark side.
Yeah, all those deaths are justifiable. The real villains here are Obi Wan and the jedi order. You're so right. Those younglings had it coming yo them. It's all Obi Wan's fault for not saying "who's a good boy?" - he said with a hint of sarcasm.
@@kiyaleelevyrunaya9495 one of the good things about Star Wars is that the major events in a world that revolves around two extremes (good and evil/light and dark side/jedi and sith) usually occurs within the grey area. Anakin is nevertheless guilty for his own actions but also there's a reason why he became as such. After all, Rome didn't fall in a day either. Whether you like it or not, Obi-Wan is the next best thing to Anakin's father figure after Qui-Gon's death. And having somebody that you looked up to like that, maintaining a certain distance from you can take a toll on anyone.

Anakin was just weak. That's all.
Too weak to control his human impulses. Like we see from so many in real life. He's got no one but himself to blame for everything that's happened to him, and éspecially éverything that followed
Anakin is taller than Obi Wan, so he already had the high ground from the beginning. Yoda only defeated Dooku because he managed to jump higher than Dooku's height.
Jesus I think you’re right
Judge me by by size, do you? Backflip over your head, i will
That's Yoda's fighting style. He's smaller than everyone even younglings so he adapted his style for acrobatics, even though he jumped higher than Dooku, Dooku still swung at him. Anakin is not proficient in Yoda's style his ego was his downfall. He believed he could jump high enough, and be fast enough to counter Obi-wan. Also the high ground thing is kinda BS because Darth Maul had the high ground, but failed to kill Obi-wan.
😂😂😂
He is higher but he still does not have the high GROUND
After watching that I felt so bad for Anakin cause he was clearly so proud of himself just for obiwan to put him down
Yeah, that was really not great teaching. Like, Anakin did win; the only way he could have “won more” would have been to actually harm Kenobi. Anakin even won through disarming, what Jedi are taught is most desirable. And yet, Kenobi has to be the “master” and makes up some bs to still claim the high ground.
Well, he didn't win. Anakin was working under the assumption that he had won but was taught swiftly by his master that a true jedi's ability does not lie with their lightsaber. Obi-Wan was probably being defensive in order to show him that and that his aggression is not good.
Anakin is proof of something that really doesn't get looked at often: the Sith aren't always wrong.

Granted they both look slightly older, but it's so natural the way that the dialogue and that their body language and that their tone and everything else is done that it's really convincing that it really did happen around about that time. We also should appreciate one more thing.
Obi Wan in this scene shows everything that is wrong with the Order and its teachings. Instead of congratulating Anakin, and then slightly tempering his attitude he immidiately goes to scold him.
The Jedi punded everything that wasnt along with their line of thought with "dark side this, Sith that, arrogance there" instead of taking a moment to think about it. Adapt. Shift their way.
Instead they acted like this, while turning blind eye to places like Tatooine, Corellia, Hutt Cartels etc, where really HORRIBLE things were happening, just because suddenly there "they cannot interfere and change the natural order". But sure, they can change natural way people think, act and function ;).

As further evidence of this, see the entirety of his final confrontation with Maul.
I honestly think everyone is looking too deep into anakin’s “it’s over”. I mean it is a pretty common saying. I don’t think obi wan used this phrase on him on purpose. We are just adding more lore (which isn’t a bad thing since we have more content) but just my opinion.

In some ways both were right. I always felt close to Anakin the struggling yet successful Padawan, the way he felt, thought, fought n struggled, he seemed very real and relatable, Qui Gon Jinn was my more enlightened favorite version of a ”Jedi”.
Some years later, Obi-Wan remembered how Ani tried to cut off his feet and had the same idea.
“What a sore loser. I would have turned to the dark side, too.” 😂
I absolutely love how not only were these flashbacks a perfect mirror of what was happening in present time, but the entire show is also a perfect mirror of the true saga. It really is like poetry. :')
JaJa is the key to all of this

Yes very pleased
Yeah i loved the part where reva had stormtroopers blast artillery at the door when she could’ve just cut through it with her lightsaber lol
@@gabzitoshorts Tbh, i find the way that only Stormtroopers get wiped out instantly by blasters or lightsaber, and everyone else gets a long drawn out death or a 'perhaps, but not quite' death quite irritating. Would have found it more appealing if Vader had cut off Reva's head, just to make sure. If the Grand Inquisitor can come back from a saber to the gut, then surely he'd realise that leaving Reva still alive from a similar wound would be a mistake??? You could argue I'm overthinking it, but it's stupid that characters are able to survive being 'killed' off like they are, and you end up just expecting them to return again in a future episode.
End credits have a bee writer, I hope they stay!! Huge difference from previous episodes
Haha the commentary on this made me laugh! xD this was a brilliant moment in the episode! It made me so happy seeing them back on screen together 😊

Their sabers are turned down so it wouldn’t cut through them, it would bounce off them.
Underrated comment lol
wow is that true?
Bro that would make so much semse
Wow, I actually didn't know they could do that, but it makes a lot more sense now that I think of it. I always wondered why they gave younglings actual lightsabers, I know I wouldnt have been trustworthy with one at 8 years old lol.
Yeah, there's also training sabers so it's really not a big deal
You got a chuckle out of me. Have my like
This chapter honestly single handedly made this one of my all time favourite Series
Anakin: It's over, Master. I have the high ground.
Years later...
Obi-Wan: IT'S OVER, ANAKIN! I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND!
Anakin: First you turn Padme against me, and now my catchphrases too? OH, YOU'RE GONNA GET IT!!!
Obi-Wan: You have done that yourself!
You underestimate my catchphrases! 😠
How dare you to turn the high ground against me?!
When does this "high ground" ends, its been 17 years. 👎
The beauty of this scene isn’t just nostalgia or swordplay...the parallel between the fight and the plot was very well written.
I understand your opinion. Personally, I like to see fight scenes with this kind of rhythm in their entirety. One of my favorite fight scenes in film is in Captain America: The Winter Soldier when Steve Rogers fights Bucky on the tarmac. Such a wonderfully coreographed fight. I would've hated to see that interupted three times to give a the A plot some underlined and italicized subtext. But then again, there wasn't any dialogue like there was here. Just a matter of preference I suppose ;)
Best star wars show ever
@@genox3636 ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… very debatable
It was a nice detail to see that every “friendly” sparring session filled Anakin with a little more resentment against Obi-Wan.
That "what a sore loser, I'd have turned to the dark side too" absolutely killed me off lmaoo
"Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself."
That's why you watch the clone wars series. The clone wars series shows Anakin's progression towards the dark side.
Yeah. The clone wars did a damn good job with that.
@@ahsokatano6342 Yeah but the ROTS audience shouldn't have needed a multiple season series beginning 3 years after the movie's release to explain the rushed turn to the Dark Side.
@@szithaanu9934 they should have made a movie in between, episode 2 and episode 3.
What? It still makes completely sense. He knew Padme since he was a kid, they fell in love and she was his world. Then he had this visión about his mother and he couldn't save her.
Of course he is going to do everything to save Padme
"Only a Sith deal in a victory like that, Anakin."
- Obi-Wan, probably
"he finally got to say it"
plot twist: he said it before obi wan.
It's important to note, this win was absolutely a big deal. Obi-Wan is the master of the "You're not going to touch me" fighting style. Fighting against him would be absolutely infuriating, and actually pulling off a win, as his padawan, had to hit anakin right in those dark side feels.
I can't wait for someone to make a PTSD flashback video of this fight where Anakin thinks he wins but gets told he lost anyways and goes "it's outrageous, it's unfair" and "I hate you!" to the ROTS burning theme

Well they have different frequencies when training, obviously they were training so the settings on the hilt would be set to training frequency where it wouldn’t cut through anything, rather when they go out in the field and the saber is set to full frequency where now the lightsaber is considered deadly, this is how Jedi trained.
It's so good see them both back in for these characters
I like they showed him as a Padawan, since in AOTC he went straight to Dooku in a very arrogant and defiant manner.
This show has reinforced how anakin was always Vader
It was unavoidable. He had that thirst for battle and winning so bad he forgot the main purpose of the Jedi which was why Windu said he should not be trained cos he could sense his rage as a child.
@@damilolaj.o7379 it was always him, his thirst to save everyone made him desperate to always win and eliminate any enemy. He was always going to turn because he craved an excuse to let it out

I wish we had more flash back scene with this show , really miss their opportunity and which is why this was the best ep
All lightsabers have a containment field around them that can be turned up so that the lightsaber can't cut anything, so it would just bounce off if it hit you in this mode
The "what a sore loser I would have turned to the dark side too" comment got me lol. Good one, good video.
As a duelist I can say that who ever has the high ground IS at the disadvantage.
Anakin definitely gives off psycho vibes in that practice fight
How? He is a student practicing one of the three most valued skills for a Jedi. In AotC, Kenobi even criticizes him for not caring enough about his saber skills. I enjoyed this scene, but it was really not good for the characterization of either of them.

@@sebin5216 just the way he looks at obi wan and shit
@@sebin5216 he probably sensed something off about his fighting style…are you a Jedi?
In case you didn't know, jedi have a sort of training mode on their lightsabers where they turn the power level down so they don't cut through you, but still hurt if hit.
As good of a person as Obi Wan was and the fact he really did love Annakin I feel like maybe if he would have used more positive reinforcement it would have taken Palpatine more than saying "Do it" to get him to decapitate someone. Palpatine was always flattering him and giving him positive reinforcement, which is why I believe he was so easily manipulated by him.
Obi Wan wasn’t ready to be a master. He was barely more than a Padawan when the responsibility for Anakin was put on him.
But palpatine is like Dictator of space. Of course anakin listened to the order to “do it”.
Obi one reminds me of will smith in hancock when they try to teach him to say good job, and he just cant do it 😂
This scene makes so much sense when it comes to Anakin's rage and anger. I mean his mom was killed and the Jedi council always found ways to hold him back, especially when they denied him the rank of Master and having to keep his love affair with Padmé a secret. He did what he could to prove his master that he was strong and had a lot of potential but they always seem to bring him down. It's no wonder why he went dark, I don't blame him 🤷🏻♂️
Wasn't that anger always in Anakin? Not simply a product of his experiences.
But I don't see how the Jedi council is holding him back. He has to follow the same rules as everyone else. He was still highly successful at the stage of his career, even despite starting his training much later. He was on track to become a great Jedi master. But because it wasn't in line with his time frame he has an issue and whines. He comes off as entitled and spoiled to me. Like if Anakin's response to not getting everything he wants is to turn on the Jedi, murder a bunch of children and help the Emperor rise to power he never deserved to be a Jedi Master. He knew the rules about having a lover. Why should he get to break the rules, yet still be rewarded? I bet a lot of those dudes are horny!
I mean the Jedi were proven right in regards to their concerns lol! If they have to make someone a Jedi so he doesn't turn to the darkside and kill everyone they were pretty justified in waiting for Anakin to mature a bit before making him a master.
@@faz1483 Anakin, being human, has always had the capacity for anger, love, and every other emotion.
The Jedi were correct that Anakin wasn't ready because although he may have learned the rules of the Jedi he never crossed the line into fully living by them. Maybe he was simply incapable of it, we'll never know.
The Jedi ultimately ended up being self-righteous hypocrites anyway. Anakin didn't need a Jedi master, he needed a father figure, and the Jedi never really gave him one.
@@vileluca right he's always had the capacity, but weren't they sensing anger in him from the start? It's not just a product of "mistreatment" by the Jedi.
Yeah the Jedi have a lot of hypocrisy, but I see that as a separate issue from rewarding Anakin as the OP mentioned. Anakin was still on track to become a great Jedi, it simply wasn't on his time frame. I thought I remembered a line saying Anakin would have been the youngest Jedi Master ever or something? I see it more as Anakin acting like a baby for not getting his way rather than blaming it all on the Jedi. Just seems like a very entitled point of view for Anakin.
Lightsabers had varying levels of power that could be adjusted by the user. They're presumably using either training sabers or their own sabers at a lower level of energy output.
They were more like brothers trying to be better than one another.
