It is. According to behind the scenes videos, Ewan, Liam, and Hayden got so into the fights and even just practicing (which they did for HOURS each day) that they ended up paying someone on set to unbend them after practice and between scenes

On any other show this would have been cringey... Graham has such a way of making guests feel comfortable. You get the sense that he genuinely is enjoying this and isn't just doing it becuase it's the "obvious" thing to do.

Draltar Moonwolf If they were made to make your own duels you probably wouldn’t want the nosies. So you could add them in more accurately in an edit. That’s presumably why you’d want to spend so much on a prop, to make your own videos.
@@draltar Pro lightsabers that have the 'saber turning on and off effect' where the light slowly goes up or down, on hit sound effects and the general buzzing when moving around cost like with literal movement sensors..up to 700 Dollar and more. They're made of special material to be durable during stunt fights, while still looking and sounding amazing. A lot of work, material and technical know how goes into these. Wouldn't expect much from a 150 $ one :p
It's true, I bought one at TRU almost fifteen years ago for $135 USD. They are durable but wouldn't survive a bunch of ten year olds using them.
They bought those from a website called ultrasaber you can buy ones that have sound when u hit them against each other on that website but they're like $200

I think he thought the green saber that was actually Luke’s from Return of the Jedi was the original Obi Wan lightsaber he used in A New Hope because their hilts look quite similar

Well Obi-Wan did keep it for 19 years, so in a way you could say it was his, even though he kept it for Luke.
Spoon Dude they’re not similar, they’re actually exactly the same, same prop, they were even going to keep it blue but had to be changed to Green for ROTJ because of the sail barge scene.
The fact that ewan hit the fruit on the first try in front of an audience doesn't get enough appreciation.
I love how Ewan so obviously loved the role and takes an effort to make fans happy. I am not a huge Star Wars person but would get in line to meet him.

Keep Smiling! Count Dooku and Obis fighting styles aren’t even the same. Not to be “that guy”, but Dooku’s style was Makashi and he was the master of it. Obis was Soresu form 3 and he mastered it to become the master of Defense. Makashi is a fully offensive form they are two ways of combat that very different. Sorry for being a nerd

Watching a group of grown men play with light sabers like little kids brings a big smile to my face! Love it!
I can do this just from fencing training. Don't get me wrong, though, this isn't a diss on Mcgregor - it's a compliment. Even though I could do the exact same moves, I don't have Mcgregor's charisma or presence to make it look nearly as awesome as he does. It's really what makes him such a great actor, that he can preform even the simplest things with the jenesequa to make them amazing.
If you gave any sufficiently skilled fencer a GFX team, they could make a badass lightsaber fight. But none of us could bring to life the presence and character of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Mad respect to the man. A reminder of why I'm just a fencer and he's an a-list actor.

That's because they received a lot of backlash for their roles in the prequels. Hayden quit acting for a time due to how much hatred he got for Anakin's story (it wasn't his fault the dialogue was so wooden).

@@bomjur The green one is indeed Luke's but it's very similar to Obiwan's Ep4 lightsaber. Same general shape. I don't think they had any prequel Obiwan hilt toys back when that episode of the show was filmed.
