    Here in Philippines,if you started doing business at a very young age people will admire you and praise you for being hardworking. Filipinos like to support young people doing business. You might as well end up being viral in facebook if you post your success stories.

    This is why it is so hard to live in Korea. Watching kdrama is fun but before dreaming of living there, you have to research at least. Watch documentaries about their country. There are plenty of videos you can watch online. Also, make friends to those who have been there. People who had lived and worked there. They will tell you what it's like to live in Korea eventually you will realize which country is best for your mental health. Sure it is best to have a positive outlook in life and dream for the best but you also have to consider the worst case scenarios. It's not all butterflies and rainbows in Korea.

    Vin's Korean Class - Equality with respect is common in the Philippines but it seems the "Respect" Culture in Korea is way way way extreme. In America respect is also important as long as you treat all races the same. Remember always we are all human beings treat everybody with respect as you would want to be treated.
    In the Philippines guidelines: "Age Etiquette guide but usually does not apply to foreigners".
    Usually 10 - 15 yrs older you would use "Oho", "Ho", "Kuya" (older brother", "Ate" older sister. 20 years or "Opo", "Po". 30 years older "Opo" Lolo or Tay (grandfather) "Lola" Nay (grandmother).
    Addressing your manager or Boss in the Philippines or coworkers are not that strict. Boss just use Sir?Mam or Boss.
    Your friends in the Philippines or what you call "Barkadas" you dont call them anything except their first name. This would be the people relatively close to your age between -5 or +10 years to your age gap.

    You are brave enough in exposing yourself how you were treated/bullied by your countrymen knowing that your people will be watching this too. Any way this is one way of expressing yourself and eventually healing yourself. Forgive that experience, forgive your perpetrators and start loving yourself, at home to yourself. Welcome to to the Philippines. If you are being bullied here, just tell them your story, tell them that you have enough and befriend them, say it to them nicely and they will understand you. Sometimes, we have this kind of empathy (the feeling of being one with the one suffering/ putting ourselves in the shoes of another) I hope this kind of value will be embedded in everyone's heart so that we become loving, respectful and caring people. Enjoy life and have *PEACE.* *MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND ALSO FOR THE PEOPLE WHO READING THIS.*

    Thanks for sharing your story. It gave us a quick insight into Korea from your own personal experience as a Korean. I was intrigued by how demanding and stressful it can be to keep up with Korean expectations and social norms which may be the complete opposite of the Philippines. You left Korea and took a leap of faith to be in Philippines, it's not perfect and may be lightyears behind Korea in terms of certain standards but there is always joy to find in the ordinary. I wish you great success!

    Your story reveals a lot about Korean culture and it explains a lot about my own personal experiences while visiting Korea.
    It is sad that you had to leave your own country to find acceptance in ours. Most Filipinos are kind and accepting, if you are also kind to them. It does not matter what your nationality is. Kindness bears kindness while animosity bears its own fruit. But scammers are also everywhere, so beware.
    Glad you found a home in our country.
    May you find peace and contentment here. We may not have much in terms of material wealth but there is so much more to life than that. Sad that most people dont see beyond the material side.
    We are poor in material wealth but rich in spirit.
    For we find joy amidst despite our poverty and even share that joy with others

    • @pheebsindazone5251
      @pheebsindazone5251 Před 3 lety +2

      @Noah H. I did and somehow it explains some of the bad things that I experienced in Korea. I.e. vendors shouting at you for asking for the price of socks they sell and not buying because I was shocked at the price. Korean restaurant owners smirking at us because they dont think we can afford to eat in their little restaurant. We had to show that we had more than enough money to pay for our food. And such other things that make me think less of Koreans and wonder why they were that way with us.
      Maybe others may have had a very good experience in Korea but in general it was less than satisfactory for me and my companions. A Korean guide even told me that someday he hopes Korea will be like the Phils in terms of tourism. Based on that experience of Korea, I DONT WANT TO GO BACK. For me, its simply not worth the expense.
      I was just trying to understand why we were treated that way. We stayed at Myeongdong, not some shabby little town in the middle of nowhere so I expected more.
      If Koreans can do that to a fellow Korean then its no wonder why we were treated so shabbily there.

    • @pheebsindazone5251
      @pheebsindazone5251 Před 3 lety

      Actually to tell you the truth, my experience was the opposite of your explanation.
      Older people were more sympathetic or accomodating than younger people. Most young Koreans we encountered were either ill mannered or could not care less about other people. I hnestly expected the old to be less tolerant of us foreigners.
      Im not saying all Koreans are bad but this attitude seems to be an acceptable norm in your society. Our guide, who was Korean, just stood by and let that vendor berate us. He apologized for the vendor but did nothing to stop the vendor from embarrasing us the whole 5-10 mins. I TOLD HIM THAT IF I WERE THE GUIDE, THAT WOULDNT HAVE HAPPENED IN MY COUNTRY. He just apologized to us again but that was not the point. I did not want his apology because he wasnt the one who had to apologize but the vendor.
      If something wrong is being done, stop it! Allowing something bad to happen is as bad, if not more despicable, than actually doing the wrong deed yourself.

    Thank you for sharing that to us. And I am happy that you’re happy staying here in the Philippines.
    However, please don’t assume that this country doesn’t have cons. I am a filipino and i could say many of us experience rasicm from our fellow filipinos. It may because of the province where you came from and status in life. We may be hospitable but mostly towards foreigners who visited us. Corruption, politics and government ranks goes together.
    Despite all those things, you can have good friends here that will see you as an equal and will always take you seriously. we are happy that you choose our country as your new home. We are happy that you’re healing and able to reduce the heavy burden you have been carrying when you’re in korea. God Bless always and stay vigilant!

    Filipinos may be 'small' but we have a 'big' heart for everyone including visitors/tourists like you. We may offer little but we offer everything. Rich Filipinos have a soft heart for those who have less in life because we share what we have and that's make us human beings. Although we have problems too just like anywhere else, we see to it we will overcome these and not worry. Welcome to my country and be happy. Life is short😍😁🤗

      That sounds insane. And meanwhile these same Koreans and Japanese are debuting idols as young as 15 and 14, in South Korea for a global market! Silly Kpop.
