You have been my favorite channel ever since, loved watching your catch clean and cook fishing videos and always wanted to fish with you. I love seeing the excitement coming from someone that is fishing especially when they are catching and landing fish. I would take strangers and friends fishing and get them all set up to catch something and when the fish is on - the light up with the greatest appreciation and joy. Took my dad out fishing for his 75th Bday and crushed some Spanish mackerel and even caught the first King Mackeral of the season. Had a blast.

Very nice of you to take someone fishing. When I was a kid sitting on the riverbank watching all the boats go by, I always wished someone would come ask me to get in the boat and go with them. Glad to see you do that for someone.
I love fresh Spanish Mackerel. I smoke it also. Great vid Robert. Agree with your assesment that mackerel does not freeze well, but smoked does freeze well.

Ever since he passed away I lost my interest in living and fishing because of my brother and mother passing away back to back in 08 and 09 . And you are right that it is best when it's first caught and iced. Brother I wish my health was better. I'd love to get down there for some fishing or a hunt. I was actually watching an old video of you do a CCC of a barracuda. You know the one where Gabe had the accident out on the ranch. I'm always watching old videos. It’s always the good ones that get away. Once I had a really nice largemouth on while bank fishing. It ran right for fr. The turned, ran along the bank. Made a perfect jump and then spit it out. That was one nice fish.
In January of 1972 I was on my senior class trip. We went to the Bahamas. I went ocean fishing and caught a dolphin fish. This video brought back a very nice memory.

I love throwing gotchas for blues and spanish. Blues nail it hard for their size. But you can tell the difference when a spanish hits it.

Looks like a great time, I guess spanish makerel is about the same as king makerel don't freeze it. However if frozen I smoke it and make a dip or use Italian Salad dressing and grill it and that makes it not to bad. If you live in west Texas you have to freeze your fish from the coast. Love the show and thank you for your Ministry.

My son got Covid on Monday. He's doing fine, because he's 20 years old. My wife, who's had it 3 time, tested negative and no symptom. I've had it once, tested negative and no symtoms. Let's hear it for us kids that grew up in the '70's! We drank from the garden hose, rode bikes without a helmet and wade fished in blue jeans!!

I kept my penn reels and heavy rods for fishing below the spillways and in fast water , for catfishing. Now they'll go to my son and grandchildren. I was feeling a little bit better last spring, so I put new braided lines on everything, even down to my ice fishing gear.

Always amazes me, a whole ocean worth of space and people get right up on you when you’re catching.
I usually take them Spanish mackerel and smoke them like mullet.then make a fish dip out of it. Definitely good

The best fish I've had was when I was out on a friends boat on the west coast of Scotland, we caught a mackerel (not the type you have there), knocked it on the head, filleted it and cut it into thin strips, dipped it in soy and enjoyed it. The fish could have only been out of the water for 30 seconds.
