My gf treated me to a sushi dinner for my 30th birthday. But just not any sushi. She took me to Teruzusushi with Chef Taka. He came over to NYC for a mastercard special event and my gf booked it as a surprise birthday gift. The best part was, we were the only customers in that time slot. There were seating for 12 people. It was just me, her, Chef Taka, and his assistant/interpreter. We had one on one time with a master sushi chef. We took so many pictures of the food and with him because he kept insisting on it. It was an experience I will never forget for the rest of my life. And yes, we got the chopsticks as a souvenir.
That dude is funny af
you got a great gf bro 🫡
so cool!
That’s so cool!
Marry her
Chef Taka reminds me of Lynja. He's so happy with what he's doing, smiles a lot, and is so friendly.
Rip lynja, may she be forever remembered. 😢
I love how Chef Taka was like angry face and then a second later full smiling ear to ear and his hand movement while cutting the tuna godly .
I think it’s funny how when the tuna was being cut, the people cutting it are so focused and precise while nick just chills commentating on the whole thing.
Lol
And only you thought
they are cutting skills
He didn't look that chill though.. That's what was funny about it to me lol It was all very intense
Chef Taka really is a craftsman in carving Tuna

Watching Travel Thirsty videos, I usually call him "much pose, no skill" and I prefer the rotten finger guy
Chef taka looks like guga foods😂😂😂.Sry for roasting chef taka I'm so sorry I thought like he look like it
The way he waited a bit to slurp in the tuna was so funny 😂 i love this guy he’s so funny and friendly 11:22
I love how respectful Nick is while the japanese chefs are chill and having fun
I profoundly enjoyed the almost meditative carving. It’s so satisfying, serene and respectful towards the tuna.
Now with Nick talking to the whole damn time
Thank you for teaching me all the things I needed to know to become a good chef I'm 16 I'm now working for someone as a private chef and they can't see thank you for showing the rope of the art that now I get to call my job.
Nick you are an absolute legend. I love watching your videos and I literally check your channel everyday for new content. Keep doing what you’re doing because you are an inspiration.
Chef taka intro be looking like a boss fight
In which he absolutly destroys every challenger that dares or is stupid enough to fight him.🤣
Chef Taka is indeed a true master. Watching the whole process is mesmerizing and educative. The freshness of the tuna and the skill involved in preparing it are truly remarkable.
Digital What Are You up to?
I love how detailed this video is to dismantle a tuna and with all the names, it’s absolutely incredible
This was simply delightful to watch and educational, too! You can see everyone is passionate about their craft.
1:09 “Your 400 years old?” He was about to say yes 😂
5:08 His smile! 😂

I'm from Iran and we hate raw meets especially fish and sushi but that's thing looks so much appetising.
real shame I will never have my hands on quality tuna like this
So weird what you can do when you have a real functioning government....
I used to not like any raw fish but I tried it with soy sauce and it definitely changed the experience!
I'm surprised you guys do not have any raw dishes. I am armenian and we have a raw beef dish. I have gone fishing in mexico and caught tuna like these, and eaten sushi right from the water. (yeah its not technically entirely safe to do it without freezing it). I love sushi so much. I hope you get to try sushi some day.
@@s7r49in many orthodox Muslim societies, eating raw meat is considered haram.
@@Alan_is_here interesting I didn't know that. How funny it is that my non Armenian half comes from an uncommon pagan European background that practiced eating only raw meat and that cooked meat was essentially equivalent to haram (I do not practice that and I identify with my Armenian half although to be honest i am not a practicing Christian either i just prefer to treat others as kind as i can and help those in need when I am able and hope that embracing love is enough for whatever God may exist)
I am speechless.. that is very educative.. i never knew you could learn so much from a bluefish tuna and sushi..
I really appreciate this as a basic tutorial into the different cuts of tuna.
I love how they're all so supportive of Nick at 13:20 : D
He paying them money
8:58 the fact that all the cuts are the same size is crazyyyyy luv this vid so much
Hi Nick, thank you for being so kind to me and my son this morning at, Sift Bakery!

Chef taka's smile makes me laugh by his smile 😂
Thank you Nick, this was honestly an experience and privilege to watch 🙏
I love how you enjoy this so much with the excitement on your face keep it up 🤩
I've grown used to a 240 gyuto for general purpose cooking. A 310 yanigaba is what a common sushi chef will use to slice tuna. This knife must be 3 times that size and he's so comfortable with it. Much respect!🙏
These few minutues felt like a movie
So much shown in such less time
Goosebumps; literally 😢

im a kiwi blue fin tuna catcher myself and this is some of the highest grade tuna i've seen in my place we catch southern bluefin tuna and they are alot bigger than that but have less quality meat sometimes i catch tuna of that grade but I will never sell them and it goes to show quality over quantity
