My mom adopted me from Romania when I was 3 and she my everything someone who birthed you doesn’t make them your mom .. my mom is my all my everything she been there for me no matter what and that’s a mom who never gives up on you who never sits there and guides you threw life god I love my mom !

Thank God we had loving parents. We didn't have much, but we had a clean home, food on the table, lots of love AND discipline, and dedicated, caring, hard-working parents, all raised in a God-fearing household.

I went through a lot in my marriage I thank God that He gave me strength to care for my 3 boys even in depression, is not by power nor by might, women goes through a lot its OK to ask for help from the people that you trust😭
Never this happy ending in real life. Too many parents abandon their children through the tough years and manage to get their privileges later and reap the benefits of someone else's hard work, tears and broken hearts.

A friend of mine had a significant grandmother.. she wasn’t really her flesh and blood but that lady had a heart of gold and devotion to a man who put great trust in her and she valued that trust. He tied the knot with her during time of trouble, WWll, a man of three and mother deceased said he needed her assistance and she said ok. They were friends at work. She helped him raise his kids until it was time for him to leave to another world.. she stayed in their lives and loved his grandchildren so much they refused to see her not as part of their flesh and blood and they mourned her dearly when she drew her last breath. One of the grandchildren happened to be Karola, my best friend. 🌸🍃
I think I cried too much. My children’s father finally came back into their lives after being in and out for the last 7 years. They.were only 5 &7. I’m trying to help them have a relationship but the fear of a child choosing someone else because it’s just always fun is SO REAL! I know my children need their father and I’ve never said anything negative about him only that he had problems but I’m so afraid of them being hurt. I’d like to wrap them in bubble wrap. I heard good advice a long time ago “just always be their soft place to fall. You can’t protect them from other people hurting them”. I can only be the best mom (dad too at times). They will grow up and hopefully always feel my love 💕.

Isth this is me and my thoughts I totally get what you are day ng. And it is hard n difficult thinking of that, just went through this recently but got faith in my kids to do the right thing despite of the fun parent. Luckily for me they're smart kids so they went with the fun parent but also wanted to come home no matter what....we moms rock babe, and good parents
I learnt that who are we to save people From the lessons in life we don't learn much when everything's going good AND my sister got divorced in the late 80s and their their father was a lot of fun and my three nieces love him and had couldn't find any fault fast forward 20 ideas when my niece was a mother herself she said that her father is only into Himself. I was shocked to hear her just nodded in agreement
This is a wonderful movie. I adopted my kids when my son was 5 and my daughter was three, and they are my heart and soul, they're biological mom was nothing but a partier and didnt give a damn about those babies. I gave those children everything I had to raise them into adulthood. I thank God that I have them in my life.

I see, Some of the people in the comment section doesn’t know what a stay at home mom does. She Cooks, cleans, and take care of the house, and the children. She did none of that. Her husband had three jobs, and he did them, on the other hand, the only thing she did was abandon her baby’s to look for a better life. She could’ve came back at any time, but she didn’t, she waited until they were old enough to take care of themselves. And they probably really needed her after their dad died. Great movie. Exactly! I’m a working full-time mom and still do all the stay home mom chores in less time with no sleep, breaks or naps in between. Children do not choose to be born, parents are responsible for their children when they bring them into this world. No excuses!

@@sabinadonofrio8863 yes, it is real, alright, and can be extremely devestating for both the mother and her child and family!!!!!! Once, I knew a young lady who suffered severely from this, and she spent some time in hospital, proceeding her son's birth. We met each other on a psych unit, , and became good friends pretty quickly. Post partum depression crippled her parenting abilities at times, and attacked her self worth, confidence, and personally security!!!! She did try her utmost, however, to really be there for her precious little boy who was born premature, and she doted on him and loved him with all her heart♥️🥰, so he was loved and cared for by his mommy, and his dad, who helped out a lot at home too, and clearly loved his little son very much, also.♥️🥰 Sadly, years later, she passed away from cancer. Everyone who knew Carol loved her and misses her very much.......especially her son!!!!!!😭💔XOXO

Well that was a tear jerker . I have 2 adopted kids and I always said they should meet their birth moms . If I was in their place I would need to know them .My son met his b family and my daughter said no . Their dad said no to meeting his b family . We all need different things to make us well
This is an amazing depiction of live! Life isn’t easy. We all have our faults and failures;talents and virtues. The greatest thing we can do and probably the hardest is to let go and let God! There’s a saying. If you love someone let them go. If they come back they are yours. If not they never were. We cannot force our will on others. God doesn’t either even though He knows what is best!!!

I adopted my youngest daughter when she was 2 years old. I allowed her birth mother to start seeing her. I guess her birth mother thought she was just going to come into our lives and start making decisions on my daughters behalf. I had to sit her down and explain to her that I wanted my daughter to get to know her birth mother but as for being a mom to my daughter...... she already had one of those....ME!! It takes a person to BE THERE for their kids no matter what, not when it's convenient for them. My ex-husband (wasn't married when I adopted my daughter) informed me that I wasn't my daughter's mother that her birth mother is her mom. She gave up her rights as a mom a long time ago.
I gave up my rights for my last son and a the last court hearing I understand I'm just a birth mom not a mother ...the couple who adopted him are the parents

So many adoptees out there who hesitate to try contacting birth parents out of loyalty to their adoptive parents, and who wait until the adoptive parents pass away before searching. The entire Adoption Industry needs a radical overhaul. The secrecy, the theft of babies, is all an obscenity. Ugh!
You just can’t expect them to love you if you’ve not been there. But to slowly build something worthwhile takes time !
What a selfish woman for abandoning her children and then just showing up out if the blue to get them! She has no concern for the mental health of those children!

When Andrea's mom showed up at school she immediately told her mom to go away I could see the fear in her eyes overseeing her I could see the fear in her eyes when she saw her mother when she was just a child
I don’t think we are ever told the mom’s age in the movie when she gets married but she tells her daughter who is 13 that she left home at 13 and had her when she wasn’t much older. Her husband was berating her in front of the kids. It sounded like emotional abuse to me. She was overwhelmed in every way and needed help, a support system of some kind. Also it’s not her fault her husband is having to work three jobs she didn’t get married and have two kids by herself. Also I think it was very telling when the little girl hid as her daddy was leaving like she was scared of his hot temper. At any rate I don’t think you should ever abandon your kids.

This was a good movie, but I couldn't imagine leaving my kids and I couldn't imagine raising someone else's children and then someone comes along and takes them away from me. It would kill me. Oh and BTW... I hate when I hear a man say oh she's just got craps. Especially a man doctor. 😡 I wish they could have a period for at least a year and have the worst craps there are and let's see how they like it. These stupid men doctors don't have a clue as to what young girls and women have to go through. Sorry , but I just had to rant about that. It makes me so mad!!!

Its only memories and photos of the past that you can recall and keep you going. Present is changed. Your baby of two years and a couple of months will not remember you today after a passage of 10 years. As a parent you now have to cling to the past.
Love & understanding will connect all from the hurts & pain of the past. Everyone goes through something they cannot explain. Time heals old wounds.

Not at all. It is perfectly believeable. Not all mothers are so mean spirited as to judge out of hand. As for the biological mother, she didn't waltz in with expectations and entitlement as has been suggested by some of the uglier of the comments here. She simply wanted to redeem herself with her kids. And yes; she did hide behind some bravado, but she also did the right thing by the kids and their step mother. The ultimate caring between the two mothers was beautiful.

Yep. My mom popped in and out of my life and is now doing the same to my brother. As far as I’m concerned my grandma IS my mom and always will be ❤️

It’s bad enough she abandoned them, but she also waited another 4 years after their father died to make contact without considering their feelings on the matter. You don’t just get to ambush the kids you birthed at their school because of your own feelings. Because that’s the whole reason she re-entered their lives. She didn’t do it for them, she did it for herself, because she missed so much. Legally speaking, she abandoned them and at most the courts might’ve given her visitation with a few weekends here and there.
The story is similar to mine and my brother's. When my brother was three months old, my mother abruptly walked out of our lives. But we were quite unlucky in our own case. Our second mother was a horrible, torturous, and wretched person. Our lives were almost irreversibly damaged... Without an apology, I have a deep-seated hatred for mothers who are so weak that they would abandon their children. 😢

Yes I pray that your able to forgive so that you can heal. I understand it's hard and painful. My biological mother gave me up at six months of age to her sister and grandmother who was 13 raising me quit school that marries his 15 my stepdad was abusive. But I forgave him before he passed away. I forgave my biological mother to and she just recently passed away. Forgiving someone is so that we can heal, they can heal also. I know it's painful, you will be in my prayers

The fact the biological mother came back into their lives was a good thing they will never have to wonder that she didn't love them... she was 14 and overwhelmed herself with two kids but she always loved them. Knowing they were loved is important!

You just cannot snatch anybody from somebody anyways...You have to be genuine in heart and should put in real care from each and every aspect to raise kids...then only u can call them YOURS... They are no Trophies to show to the people around.

We had a rule in our house our children grew up with it was
Don't put it down. Put it away. It saved a lot of cleaning but we could get messy. Underneath the mess was a clean home and Saturday was " scrub it out Saturday. We all got in and did the floors baths toilets and washing. It worked well and then the boys got older and had sporting comments so I cleaned and made sure they kept to the rule.
I love cooking but have been known to buy takeaway lol

The husband was not without fault. He saw his wife was too young and overwhelmed. Instead of getting her help he treated her like a worker that didn' do their job.
She had no concept of how to handle motherhood. No relatives or friends.
In native cultures we see women helping each other to manage motherhood. We in this poor selfish isolated culture bring forth such unnecessary suffering.
It was good that she came back, to let the children know she did love them.
It wasn't good when she came back. The fifth line in your comments about makes me barf. Whatever you think is a "...poor , selfish isolated culture" is no different than what the "native" cultures do to women who can't bear children. They're barren and left to fend for themselves. Also, if they're without a man, good luck! Your research needs to be more balanced.

Please, there are cultures where girls are forced to grow up and marry young and even those young girls know not to abandon their children! When you bring a child into this world you have already chosen to be responsible for that child forever so if you walk out because things are hard then you’ve lost that right forever! You can’t just come back when it’s convenient for you! You don’t have to the right to create trauma more than once to someone just because you are in a better place now!

@@leanderrowe2800 yes that's true. Unfortunately, Most women don't get to chose. Either, forced, obligated, or accidentally, most humans, I'd say over half, are born to a hostile environment. If you find a truly happy child on this planet, it's an absolute miracle. Those that object to prevention are cursing those children to live absolutely horrendous lives. There are so many simple solutions to not getting pregnant. But we are not informed or educated and most doctors are not telling. It's a shame in an overpopulated world that most of us are not wanted, not happy, and we blame all the wrong people. Most parents aren't even fit to have a puppy, let alone a child or a family.
And children who have absolutely great parents don't appreciate them and blame them for everything imaginable. I had one in 1976

Being a mother myself, we can only do our best to love and accept our kids as they are. I am also on the camp of women's right to abortion. No child should be born unwanted and no woman should be forced to continue her pregnancy. Take good care of yourself.

My mother did take her life, shewasan ordained minister, shewas63 whenshepassed. - I praise God He got me those suicidal teenage years, growing up in that home. My oldest daughters husband took his own life, left her w/2 boys. Praise God she's moving on and we're seeing her healing and actually saying she has joy. Her father, my x was murdered in 2016. And my middle daughter- age 9, went to be with Jesus after a vehicle accident. With Jesus, he heals our broken hearts 💕 I'm proof

These mothers who abandon their kids are worthless. Now that she has her life in check she thinks she’s owed something! She thinks she has all the rights. She lost rights when she walked out!

I don’t agree with you on that because some mothers walk out incase they murder there child or children they walk out before they do something they will regret that’s why a lot of babies and children get killed from parents just think for a moment if you said that to one of your friends and then you hear on the news that she has been arrested and the children past away it’s horrible to think I know but that’s the reality so I don’t agree you should never walk out on your children for silly purposes but for serious circumstances then walk out is the way and get help and get someone to look after the children while you get help but I don’t agree to just come back into there life whenever you feel like it are try and take over when you was not there for years that’s wrong it’s wrong to take a child or children out of a happy home and cause drama and upset wait till they old enough to judge if they want to see you are not when there 18 .
I agree because abandonment is detrimental to kids . There maybe factor why she left but not how young they were … no excuse

I was adopted at the age of two my brother 1 and my sister 3 my foster parents only wanted my brother so we were treated differently while he was spoiled and did what ever he wanted we felt like outsiders we got punished all the time for nothing and hit constantly I ran away when I was 13 because she kept putting me in hospitals and I felt like she didn’t want to understand me I wanted to end my life multiple times when I turned 18 my sister brings my biological mother while I was walking to the bus and she screams omg you are so beautiful she ended up having 2 kids after they took us away from her and knowing her for 10 years now she hasn’t really tried and when she does call it’s for one of her kids parties or graduation or for them not for to know how I’m doing or really even said sorry for what she done and that made me dislike her so much but I try and show up do my two siblings because they don’t know the history they think their mother is perfect and that bothers me so much I got so mad at her sometimes I ish my sister never brought her back into my life
I totally get where you're coming from, and I came from a so called normal family of Mom and Dad and 5 kids, all a year apart. Abusive, controlling, leather belt and all, and yes ended up suicidal as how do you value your life after that? Life is tough, for most people. We sometimes think we're the only ones, but everybody goes through similar or worse trials. The main thing is to find the source of real strength and draw on that, and have faith that things will get better. Good luck in your journey. Hope you find peace.
The best thing to do would've been to never enter their lives again, if she really loved them. Just because she birthed them and couldn't "handle" it, early on, gives her no right to insert herself into their lives. Sometimes there are no situations where people should be excused from certain decisions. The "oops, my bad" shouldn't work in some instances. Selfish.
Nope. Mothers and even the best of mothers break down and even run away to a safe place to heal. Probably had post natal depression on top of the abuse as well. She did send cards at least twice a year and never heard back. I am all for the birth mother. The blond lady had no right to keep the kids away from their biological mother. Birth mothers and their children should always be allowed to reunite and the blond lady was a bloody selfish bitch in many ways. She sure went the wrong way about it. Yeah she was probably, scared to lose the kids but had she had compassion right away for the biological mother, then the biological mother would have kept the other in the family for the kids sake and as a close friend.

I think she already had her doubts but that conversation showed her what her biological mum was up to. The bio mum had lied and said it was just a holiday and wedding. Meanwhile she was telling her husband that Andrea would be living with them. That's when Andrea finally realised what her real mum was worried about
I think it was also the realisation that the memory when she felt safe wasn’t with her birth mom, but the mom who raised her. She certainly had her doubts after the fiancé, but she realised that Cathy wasn’t really her mom.
The hardest thing for a biological mother is letting go of her children; because despite where her heart says and knows to be true on the inside, she has to make a serious choice and it always hurts.

Another thing came to mind: so after the mother had left, sb must have taken care of those children for two years. Who was that? And how come the father was able to find or pay such a person, but was not able to provide such help when she was there?
The biological mother was a stay at home mom & she could of at least did the dishes & pic I ed things up off the floors & gave the kids baths ,etc. Its called being a parent

I’ve known women that have had their husbands leave them because of that 😂 they can only put up with so much of that after a while but that’s what courting is for, too- did they not see the way she lived prior?

This was such a sad story.i cant imagine ever abandoning my 2 kids at any age. A feral cat had more maternal instinct than this mother. She was in a bad situation being so young giving birth but women have done it for thousands of years at young ages and didnt just walk away.its just selfish,imo. Then waltz back in after 10 yrs and expect them to welcome her back into their lives as if nothing happened. She had some nerve. I feel bad for any kids she would have with new husband. He should be reluctant to have any with her.this makes me even more grateful for the wonderful precious mother that i had. I miss my mom every single day.

No excuse for any mother to leave her children at all..I was adopted and never ever do I think of the one who gave me up..They should never have any say at all either if they think they can have kids back!
parenting is all or nothing. You can't just leave for years then pop back up and demand the mom and dad title. Once this is broken it might get better, but it never will be the same.
In any family situation, never coverup anything , even if it hurts because the is the right way to go.

There was a scene in the movie where she asked Andrea and Brad if they wanted to see their mom rad didn't want anything to do with her but then Andre I said Mom the look on her face when her daughter wanted to see her birth mom it really scared her mother the think that she might lose her daughter

I would not have offered my children for being part of this movie especially the baby. How traumatizing for the little one with all the yelling.
