I was born to a mother that didn’t show any love . She would rage and hit me violently . I was taken off her at least 7 times and lived 10 years in foster care . My dad was schizophrenic. I was adopted at 11 years old to a lady that showed me no affection . I am now 39 years of age . I have suffered, binge eating , chronic low self esteem, panic attacks , anxiety . I now have thyroid disease. I have somehow managed to of made it through life . I even bought my own home and have worked hard with no help . I have stopped my people pleading ways. I have a gorgeous 5 year old daughter and think I’ve done a great job showing her love I never received . She tells me she picked me from heaven because I would be a kind mom . It hasn’t been an easy road. I don’t know why my mothers couldn’t show love .. probably to do with their own childhoods . I’ve managed to work my whole life . I would just love to cure my panic attacks . My mother doesn’t acknowledge any of the abuse and has told me I’ve made it all up . I’ve had to learn to love myself . I will have to learn how to do that forever . I would love to know what it would be like to of had parents . Love , forgiveness and compassion have saved me . Lots of self work too . The journey never stops . My daughter is my greatest gift and love .

Your story brought tears to my eyes. Very touching. I admire your strength and will to overcome all that which has happened to you and - at the same time - being the best mom you can be for your beautiful daughter. So much fortitude!
All the best to you and your daughter.

Broken connections and emotional/ social bonds with important people in our lives are the basis for defensive, self protective behaviours. Thankfully, the reverse is true.

Yes, all this and of course working with adults, parents and teachers alike who are bullies. Adults who haven’t dealt with their own traumas often bully children, unfortunately.
