- In "The Bionic S-Man", Taryl goes over just what this strange mini dune buggy looking thing is that he acquired from a local customer. Is it a mini dune buggy? What kind weird utility vehicle is this thing? All those answers and more will be answered in this here video. Also, before and after the demonstration/fix, Slippers is acting funny and Junior can't seem to figure out why. What's the reason for Slippers' malfunction? Could it have something to do with the fact he's BIONIC?! Could we all be robots?! Tune in to The Bionic S-Man for the full story on what strange things have been going on around the shop. And as always... There's Your Dinner!!

I believe that lift Elk Skins got was one for moving patients in/out of hospital beds.
Even though I don’t do a lot of work on stuff your videos are always entertaining. However, they do provide me with a ton of knowledge to troubleshoot and problem solve. Thanks to everyone for all you do.
Yep, Patient Lift. We use Hoyers in our hospital. I've seen them lift 500 - 600 lb patients, no problem.
Yep, my uncle used one to get out of his tub and into his wheelchair.
I was in hospital 3 months in 21 due to almost dieing with covid and due to being in bed 2 months I had to be lifted from bed to chair and back it wasn't quite like that it was electric but I figured it was a medical lift.
I’m in my 60,s Taryl. I can tell you that as you age, your GoPro tends to flop down more often. Oh! GoPro is a camera! Never mind.
When your hobby is your job, that is heaven.
Elk Skins is the Newman of Grass Rats Garage.
Elk Skins: Hello Taryl.
Taryl: Hellloo Elk Skins!
We had the exact same machine, except it was called a haul master. very good machine, hauled lots of fire wood, picked rocks, and hauled feed for the cows on the farm for years. Great memories seeing this , thanks for the video!

TRUE STORY:
The image is actress Julie Andrews from the
famous scene in the movie "The Sound of Music"
from 1965, where she sang
"The Hills Are Alive with The Sound of Music".
We used a jet-engine helicopter for that shot.
As I recall, it took multiple attempts to get it right,
and our helicopter pilot had to pull up and away
to set up for the next try.
Every time we pulled away, Miss Andrews was literally
blown down to the ground, and had to clean off for the next try.
I believe it was a conceptual rehearsal, so she was not
wearing the final production gown and dress.
She's DEFINATELY a keeper!!! My cousin has a Super Tryke. I've ridden it, they are really cool! 😎
That is a manual patient lift that they use in nursing homes. I do the maintenance in one and we threw out about 20 of them when we got new ones. It’s probably full of poop. 😂
As soon as I saw Hoyer I knew what it was, my wife is in healthcare and she used the term Hoyer lift a lot
I would spray it down with bleach mixture a few times, scrub with a brush and a final rinse with the hot water pressure washer and she would be good as new. Let me know if y’all throw any away I’m in, would be perfect looks like it was designed specifically for that purpose! 😎
They can use it for Slippers.
and nurses used one on me the time i was attacked by a bull broken leg 2 broken ribs
My mother is paralyzed,it’s amazing the cost of these thing, but I guess she would look funny hanging from my engine hoist.
Hey Taryl… thanks for making these videos man. Not all of us had fathers to teach us this stuff. I’ve learned so much from you.
That was an awesome twist for an ending! Really enjoyed that one!
The Hamm's Hauler gets new parts but the crew got janky recycled parts because of the dang chip shortage.
Would love to see you do a cushman truckster. Thanks for keeping us entertained Taryl!
That is a pretty cool little ride. That lift worked pretty good. I would have never thought about using a piece of medical equipment to lift engines out of tractors. Pretty slick!
I knew it! Taryl is building an army to rule the lawnmower repair industry!
Pretty cool, with the rack in back, it makes me think Granny Clamplett needs a seat way in back.
Taryl Fixes All says it all. That thing will be a blast and useful, Thanks Taryl
Thank you Taryl for all your time as a small engine professional you are so helpful your explanations on technical are through all the way down to part numbers! Your misfit shop rats are the icing on the cake, I get a smile every episode! I would sure look good and be proud sporting and advertising one of your Taryl Fixes All T Shirts. I wish I could send more $ but Life and Christmas has me strapped!
Merry Christmas and I wish you and your team a very merry Christmas!
Another great video. This thing looks like a riot to drive. That lag bolt idea, including the spring - Wow, is a great one!
Great job, Taryl. Nice machine and glad in came into your possession. Will have a nice home.
For what it is worth, I would have gladly watched a longer video to see how you installed the new parts. Your expertise and approach to fixing stuff is educational and well appreciated.
You could use that thing for a sort of "Beverly Hillbilly's" skit perhaps?
Well I see Taryl has a multi purpose lift , it can lift up mower engines and Uncle Andy too , what a deal !!!!!!
Taryl you do some nice work ! I like how you do all the work that should be done before you put the engine back in !!
What a cool little vehicle. While I know it would have been a really long video, I would have liked to see the work you did on it. Well done!!
I just love the humor on this channel. That’s one cool cart! Well done!
Cool project! Looking forward to additional installments.
Great video. Nice skit for the season.
Can’t wait to get out your way and drop in to see ya. Thanks for the laughs and information.
Excellent as always Taryl.
LOVE dem' old stuff Taryl!
At the 5:58 mark, the guy on the trike looks like a young Slippers
TARYL HAS BECOME THE BEST REPAIR VIDEO'S ON CZcams, HANDS DOWN
👏🙌👈👉🤛✊👍☝🖐✋🖖👌✌🤘🤙
HIS MIMIC VOICE, OF VIEWERS COMPLAINING ABOUT ONE THING OR ANOTHER IS HILARIOUS ..........
Cool mini cart!! And excellent skit!!!
wonder which was 1st, the early jd gators with motocycle frontends or this company. surprised honda didnt market anything like them esp since they had made their 3wheelers. LOL i thought Slip dog was going to have Ronnies voice or manerisms when he powered up
I was wondering the same thing , I have one of those JD Gators (600) with the motor cycle seat which was the first Gator , the second one had a golf cart seat like the three wheel golf carts (622) and I also have a three wheel EZGO gas golf cart too . I noticed that the transmission in that thing looks a lot like the John Deere 5 wheel Gators transmission .
Happy Halloween Taryl & Crew!
Happy Sunday taryl and crew
Great job Taryl.
Our weekly fix of Taryl and the crew!!!
Wow, Taryl doesnt play around when rebuilding an engine. Looks great man!
That's cool Taryl...I like it
That was cool Taryl
add yourself some lights on the rear for reverse lights/utility lights, looks pretty useful and fun, and should be a pretty sweet project to fix it up and modify it
Excellent video Taryl :) I put extra light like turn signals also on cab too and too your choice to!
Love your skits ,and really learn alot from all your videos 🖒
Im keeping this one!!! awesome job TFA CREW!!! TY!!!
Using a spring to attach a chain is a really cool idea I never would have thought of that
Nice job that’s pretty cool👍
That is a cool little ride can’t wait to see it fully restored…
Awesome Taryl 👍
Hey Taryl and company, my Scrub Cadet thanks you for the lawn mower cover. We're styling now. And thanks for the quick ship and bonus trinkets too. The new calendar is nice and I especially like the new coffee mug. I'm gonna shower my wife with Taryl merch for Christmas. She'll be sooo happy!
Yes that's definitely a keeper.
It looks like a lot of fun.
I'm so glad that you are back making videos. Keep up the great work. And great content.
Edward Earl Smith.
looks like a good fixer upper there taryl, awesome to see ole school rides bein givin a new life!!!!
Really cool machine, nice work fixing it up
Taryl livin the life. enjoys what he does for sure. cool vid
That thing is neat! Nice job on the engine, and Slippers! 😆👍
Good show, looks like a fun ride.
great video lads looking forward to you doing more work on it
One of your best skits ever 😎😎😞🤣🤣
Loved the new toy and the skit. Very clever. Thanks for sharing.
That thing is cool!, you're going love taking it to events!!!!😎👍
6:30 Compared to side-by-side prices of today, even by 1984 standards that thing was a steal of a deal. Go to a Polaris dealer today and try outfitting any modern SxS with a few of those options... you'll end up spending a small fortune. A mirror is $100, full doors are $1500, wiper kit is $500, windshields are as expensive as for a car, etc.
I love it Taryl. 👍
Taryl POV was awesome.
Cool ride!
glad to see this i have a kimbal j-93 got it for 75 bucks painted it and stenciled it like a willys army jeep has a powered dump bed i upgraded alot of it golf cart rims radio bed liner has been a great yard vehicle . i made fenders off bed like a willys truck wish they made more replacment parts ive made alot of things had to use a industrial sprocket on trans cause i cant find the same kind of brake band sprocket love taryls vids
Nice Job !
Great video Had an idea for your fenders mudflaps also glad to see I’m not the only person that has an oven mitt in the garage
That’s great love the video
Our family-owned implement sold Pacesetter 3 wheelers in the late 70's early 80's that looked much like the 3 wheeled versions. I heard Kawasaki bought Pacesetter and a few were sold with Kawasaki engines. The single-seat 3 wheelers were a blast, so much lighter than the ones that came after them. They had an ugly complicated rear drive with some Odd HEX bearings. lasted longer than any of HOnda's and Yamahas all my friends bought, it was still running 40+ years after it was made. The fiberglass ( not plastic)is all gone, and the bearing where all shot but some oil, and the old 9 horse Wisconsin Robin fires right up and it still goes
This is cool. It looks a lot like the industrial Cushmans we used at the factory I worked at. Great vid Taryl. Pa Pa Pa Pa.
There's a ceiling tile manufacturer in my area that has a building that is half a mile long, and they used Cushman scooters and bicycles to get back and forth since it was so immense.
That’s an awesome vehicle really cool!!!
That things cool, along with that hoist. Maybe put some wheel wells on it to keep the mud from slinging.
That happens to be one of the best videos I've seen on your Channel love it keep up the great work my best wishes from Virginia Beach Virginia
Hey Taryl, It's pronounced healed , as in - I wrecked my motorcycle but now I'm all healed up! Made here in Southwestern Michigan.
Cool Buggy Great Video!
Good restoeration
Great skit!
Love when you talk like the customer or whiner..best ever
That lift is called a Hoyt lift period and it's used to lift patients in and out of beds. I'm sure they make different sizes but they have to go way above 400 pounds for certain situations. My wife is a nurse and she learned how to use them in nursing school
Love the Elk Skins and Faryl inserts. Made me laugh!!!
Lol great video taryl
I'm not sure anyone wants to know this, but a Hoyer lift is made to shift people on their bed who are unresponsive or unable to aid in their turning or shifting. Looks like a very useful tool in the shop as well. Thanks Taryl.
Back in late 70's early 80's a lot of us used them to pull car engines. They was cheaper to buy used then an actual engine hoist.
I’LL. BE. BACK. …back out to the shed 🎭 Greatness! Bravo!
Looks cool. I'm actually rebuilding a 18hp briggs opposed twin right now
That lift is to pick people of beds that was probably the old person's bedside lift.😅😅
That ending was hilarious.
That free hoist is a medical lift for lifting immobile patients in and out of bed lol
You find the coolest stuff, I'm almost jealous
That's a sweet machine Taryl! That'll be perfect for hauling goodies you buy in Portland.
looks good..hey when i looked at the backrest it looks upsidedown to me but man what a rig! 😀
I like it!
I use to use DOOR HINGES for the corner boards on my flat bed grain trailer kit of my semi tuck trailer. Push a longer pin for easier assembly.
I’m a biomedical tech in a hospital and the lift is a Hoyer patient sling lift. The black bar is what they attach the patient sling to.
A single diode is a 1/4 wave rectifier. 2 is a 1/2 half wave and 4 is a full wave.
Great video Terrell that is a cool old buggy and those Briggs & Stratton opposed are good old Motors besides like you said the ignition coil in the starter that's the only really problems I ever have myself
Pretty cool.. one of the original sxs utilities. Didn't take off then, it was before their time. Now sxs are everywhere.
Thank you!!
Good done
Good job
I've got a twin just like that on a 3 ton mobile tow crane - I was freeze framing to see the throttle linkages and other features a couple of times... Just rebuilt the carb and sourced some intake manifold gaskets for mine. Hope mine runs that well when I bolt her back together... Have noticed the spark is not strong but have not pulled her apart that far yet.
Good thinking on the stake bed work..
Great job. Lots of work you didn't show. That's for sure
