    I’ve watched all these videos in explained needle depth and they all explain but I love your video because you even show how what i’ve been trying to find! Not only how much is supposed to go into the skin and how much each one should stick out even marking it makes it visually understandable for beginners. Thanks for the help!!

    I'm new in tattoo industry and I've watched alot of videos about needle depth and still struggling with in.
    No one simplified it and explained it as you did.
    I always get blowouts or fade away completely and couldn't understand why and that's the reason I couldn't start tattooing after 4 months of practice and ended up with alot of bad tattoos on my skin.
    I've tried to put 2 millimeters or 3 millimeters in and focusing on this and that to much as every other tattoo artists say and what they did to explain it was similar to rocket science.
    But you and your red marker did the best and the simplest understandable explaining.
    Thank you dude i love your work.

    • @Mikaisafk
      @Mikaisafk Před 5 lety +3

      There is no golden rule, it’s personal preference, play around with voltages and see what works for you.
      Me personally I don’t change then Volts from Needle to needle.
      I only up the voltage on large needles like 27 mags and 18 round shaders because it’s pushing a larger object into the skin and i want to keep moving my hand at the same speed as the smaller needles.
      But generally I stil around the 12 volts range on my machine for nearly Everything I do.
      This will change from marchine to machine
      It’s all about finding your sweet spot. No one can tell you your sweet spot it comes from experimenting your own, you’ll find differnt body parts sometimes require a voltage change .. but that’s on a client by client basis , again it’s all trial an error

It looks like its marked alot higher in red then the other liner, as if you put less into the skin. But that confused me because i thought all needle depths had to penetrate at the same 1.5-2mm to hold ink or am i wrong? Sorry just trying to figure this all out

      Raising the voltage on a rotary would only run the machine faster. If you want the 18 to go in, you need to push a little bit. If u use a coil, raising the voltage may not be enough. You need a machine with stronger coils to push that kind of a grouping.
