How anyone could give you a thumbs down on this or any other video you put out is beyond me
James you can't please everyone. Whomever doesn't find this information valuable are probably people that are not serious about being a great tattooist.
thank you
âMove like a fkn robotâ đđ thanks so much man. Love your videos.
Glad you enjoy it!
Had to pause the video I laughed so dam hard đđ
I died on this one :D
Man you need to open an online college called "Tattoos made simple". Make it subscription based and upload a curriculum from basics to advanced level explaining everything EXACTLY like you did in this video and man I guarantee it will be huge success. This was simple, uncomplicated and not washed with ego or jargon. Loved it. Thank you Ben
I have a full 6 months course buddy.
This is the best video on tattoo needles that I found, I finally can order needles and understand what I am buying. Thank you Ben Fisher
For real the best
đ
This dude is good.Thanks
Agree with this 100%
Goodness, anybody thatâs ordering needles without knowing âexactly what theyâre orderingâ has ZERO business buying needles; MUCH LESS USING THEM! As a 20 year professional tattooer, who served a traditional apprenticeship and apprenticed others (Iâve got âgrand apprenticesâ whore successful tattooers now!), NOBODY should be tattooing without having served an apprenticeship! Besides being a drug dealer, I canât think of much thatâs more IRRESPONSIBLE and dangerous! STOP what youâre doing and find an apprenticeship! Do it right and youâll put out good work safely. CZcams will never substitute for an apprenticeship.
Man I wish my artist would explain this. Iâm apprenticing and heâs so set on me figuring everything out myself without any experience. Itâs getting tiring. Iâm here to learn but I canât learn if youâre not willing to teach đ€ a year later and his video has taught me more than he has
Perhaps you should apprentice elsewhere if he/she is not an adequate teacher. ( no disrespect just an opinion from outside the box).
I'm having the same issue with apprenticing. Theyre like ask questions and Im like how can i ask questions if i dont know jack shit to even have questions about
You should listened to your mentor... They have their reasons.
At the same time you can tell your mentor that their name will be associated with your work. So if their plan is to give you the run around, that's fine.
@@tranglomango & others
Are you paying for this apprenticeship?
Mine was old school. I was actually recruited by a shop. I put my time in selling tattoos, cleaning, setting up, breaking down, drawing tattoos, stenciling. Then one day. I got to tattoo. I had to leave before I could finish my apprenticeship... But the goal, path if you will, is to train an artist and keep him/her in your shop to make money and build the shop. So the mentor is as invested as the apprentice.
Many "artists" are using the apprenticeship as a revenue stream and could care less. This is worse than the scratcher at home imo.... And these "artists" should be checked. The mentor/apprentice relationship is all but sacred in tattooing and should be respected by both the mentor and the (potential) apprentice.
Make sure that if your paying that your "mentors" are competent and vested.
I have same thing in my apprenteship, but he clearly said that he can answer all my questions but I need to study this all by myself. I have my own room, he buys me all stuff that is needed.. I'm very happy there and I love youtube đ
Dude. Thank you so much. My mom is a teacher, and I have a degree. I said that to say this: you have a talent for teaching that makes me so incredibly grateful that this is the first channel I started watching after buying a tattoo pen. This is valuable information. You're a good man, Ben Fisher.
You're very welcome!
"ive never seen anybodys skin move like a fucking robot" fucking brilliant. If you looking to learn about needles then this is the video for you. Very informative and well explained.
Isnt a 12 gauge needle smaller than an 8 gauge? I thought the rule of thumb was the bigger the number gauge the smaller the needle and the smaller the gauge number the bigger the needle ??
@@vinnyrivera5396 its different for tattoo needles diameter is the thickness. Its not like piercing needles.
đ
@@vinnyrivera5396 Tattoo pin sizes number 8 , number 10 or number 12 are not gauge in metric it is easier 0.25mm, 0.30mm and 0.35mm

As a biologist and tattoo enthusiast, I canât explain how much I appreciate you breaking this all down into a science in a technical way. Extremely helpful. This is when you know someone truly loves what they do! Hell Iâd look into having you tattoo me if I could make the jump across the pond! Keep it up as I know you will!
At last! Someone that explains everything clear. I search every artist here at yt and your videos found the most educational and clear for beginners like me. To be honest I'm halfway watching this video but I can't resist my self to say thank you and I or we apreciate this video so much. Hope to see more videos and tutorial from your channel. From now on you're now my mentor sir. Thank you very very much !

Thank you for you're time and wisdom. Yo I've wanted to be a tattoo artist 'since I was a young kid. I grew up in long beach cali surrounded by people who were called freaks, even there too, back then at least it wasn't as big, now a days it's such a radical commonality , the freaks have won. I've lost alit of confidence in myself to keep going, I've lost alot. Tho finding this video and listening to your no bullshit simple structure to building my talents is real.
Merci beaucoup

My first ink was 20+ ago, First ink I put on skin was 15+... I appreciate you humbleness and the willing to explain the needles and also the usage. I am happy to learn from anyone that explains and shows new techniques for some of us old school peoples!!
Glad it was helpful!
Man the best thing during the quarantine. I'm a beginner and I've seen some videos but yours by far explains everything in depth. Some people learn hands on and some are great at notes. But you explained it well enough for those who may not have a needle or gun in their face to see what you're talking about. With your help I'll learn exactly what I need for my process. Thanks a ton from Houston, Texasđ€
đ
I love that you donât talk at like a million miles per hour. Thank you for that đ€

This was so incredibly helpful! Especially for a beginner, all of the different sizes are a bit intimidating but you explained them all very nicely!

Best break down for beginners! Thanks for this video, watched a variety of videos & came across yours. You broke it down the best & made it very interactive. Thanks đȘđœ
Thank you so much for this video, brother. This is a great resource for beginners and even professionals to keep as an archive!
This video was very well explained great job. I always had a hard time getting the results i wanted out my art but i always did.
I feel with this knowledge you have shared i will work a lot faster, and like you said less pain and irritation to the skin.
đ
This is amazing! I'm an autstic artist who's always been interested in starting and learning about tattooing but have always worried it would be too complicated for me to understand. Not only have you explained at a slow pace and in great detail but you have included visuals which is a big helper for me and my understanding. I am very grateful and happy. Thank you for doing these video's and all your content :)

I watched a lot of needle explanation videos, but yours by far has been the most thorough and helpful and explained the most simply. I really appreciate when people take the time to explain every little detail about a topic instead of assuming any prior knowledge and rushing through. so thank you!
Absolutely love your explanation and your accent.
