The Airpod integration is god-tier
The thing that kills it for me is that I use CZcams TV, which Chromecast TV is built around.
Plus if my friends are over, they can cast to it whether they have iPhones or Androids. It doesn't work the other way around.
Ya that is the issue with Apple. You kind of have to be all in and it’s amazing or just don’t go Apple in my opinion.
I buy both , Chromecast have some apps that require developer mode and then u can install what u want on it . Apple TV is more restrictive at apps but yea , hardware is more strong on apple tv , runs games , runs all movies and seems to be the only device with so much power . It is exacly how u say in ur video , chromecast for budget (but i will feel it like a cheap device) apple tv for premium one .
I got one just to use it as a hub for HomeKit devices.
Very smart! Do you have the thread capable one? That allows you to get cheaper smart home devices which is pretty nice!

A TV hands down the best entertainment system we have in our home for less than $150
Considering how cheap used mini pcs are, or even the n100 for just £15 more than apple tv, you get a powerful all in one pc that doesn't even use much power when idle.
It'll use a bit more power when being slammed, but you can play just about any game.
Work, play, watch TV, what ever you want.
They're not even that much less powerful than desktop chips.
I've been considering getting one to save power and or move my hard drive to another room and offload the compute performance of some various tasks.
It makes no sense to limit yourself like this.
That sounds great but the Apple TV is going to be a lot more convenient when you want Netflix you just click Netflix when you want live tv you just click that app. You have just a small remote instead of needing a keyboard and mouse in your living room. Things like that, I believe that 95% of people would find an Apple TV for streaming a lot more convenient. But that is just my opinion

Love my Apple TV. It’s a shame it’s so hard to jailbreak though, not as easy as a firestick 😂. But even simply adding a vpn they have only finally added in now. Better late then never I guess
I keep hearing about jailbreaking fire sticks what can you do with that?
@Conner_Snowden most people will use it for streamio. If it’s not in the steaming service I’m paying for I’ll just watch it there
Chromecast all the way because it integrates with Home Assistant.
I can also write apps for Android without needing a Mac and I don't need Apple to approve them for me to own my data.
I have 3 Macbooks BTW, I just hate XCode, even though Swift is a nice language.
Makes sense! I prefer my Apple TV, I don’t write apps and the Apple ecosystem just works well and is simple for me
@@Conner_Snowden That is very a very fair take and I respect your point of view.
The reason most people pick other ecosystems is because they allow more individual control and allow more customization. You seem to have a great setup that works really well for you so I hope you continue with it.
However, if you ever get the chance you should try Linux, even if you hate it. The point is to try something new and learn by doing. Linux is like cooking your own food; hard at first but more satisfying in the end, then you retire and go back to restaurants.
You come across as a very smart man and growing in your knowledge is the best part of life.

@@Conner_Snowden If you ever want to then a great first place to start is Ubutun as an OS and Home Assistant for automation. It's 1000x more work and really frustrating at times but you really understand how things works in the end. It's not for everyone but if you're making high quality video like these about tech you are talented enough to pick up the difficult tech.
