Rick was in the right for turning Pissmasters image around and making him a hero, Jerry was in the right for defending his daughters honor and fighting when needed to, the only one truly in the wrong was Pissmaster himself. If he had chosen to stick around he and Rick could've been good friends, at least after making up for him being a jerk.

@@Ginfeldi I wouldn't say he was in the wrong for killing himself, I've always believed everyone has the right to end their own lives provided they are in the right state of mind to do so. But Pissmaster was in the wrong because he harrassed Summer, refused to backdown when Jerry demanded he apologise, then couldn't deal with it when he faced consequences for his actions. He was not a victim of mental illness or depression, or even the media. He was a malicious asshole who got called out for being a prick.

And it continues to be fascinating. The whole family is basically a "what not to do" type of thing.
I don't think Jerry has any wrong in this situation. He might have humiliated piss master in front of millions, causing him to commit suicide. But that was neither his goal, his intent, his fault. The guy insulted his daughter so much that even Jerry went to do something. And this is Jerry we're talking about, his standing up for himself is almost impossible but he stood up for his daughter.
It would be the equivalent of a mother beating up a guy who tried to sexualy assault her son. And the guy killed himself from the humiliation because it was caught on tape.
Yeah Pissmaster was the villian because he actively sought out a confrontation, caused damage and then sexually harassed a 17 year old in front of her father, he sought attention but everything he did was in the worst possible way

Honestly I can see Rick's perspective on why it is so hard for him to change.
He went through all that effort to redeem this random supervillain's good name with nothing to gain. His family believed that he was Piss Master to help Jerry's self-confidence.
And then they immediately tear into Rick for hiding the fact that Jerry inadvertently drove Piss Master into suicide which is something way too heavy to drop on someone like that. And they act like Rick hasn't changed at all.
These Smiths are so contradictory. They constantly demand Rick to change his behavior. But on the rare event he does. Just one mistake on Rick's part and they immediately forget all the good he has done. As if they didn't expect anything better from him. With how toxic this family can be, anyone would give up and not bother in Rick's shoes.
Easy solution, kill pissmaster and not care. Done.
And what's worse, his mistake wasn't something cruel or mean, it was showing vulnerability for a second and telling Morty, because he needed the support of someone else who also knew this terrible thing. To expect Rick to just shelf sometjing like that, tyen get angry at him for doing the healthy thing and asking for help, is simply ridiculous on his family's part. Seriously, what's the point of trying to change if anything less than perfection is treated with disdain and anger?
@@estebanpineros9409 He had the support of someone else, though. He'd told Wong already. He fucked things up on purpose, because he can't help himself - he just chose to do it in a way where he could pretend he didn't mean to.
Funny thing its rick fault he leaved real morty identity parts in VR game for loop. So this Morty like season 1 Morty or citadel Morty didnt know that Rick really cares for them and he dont have developed character because of that one episode

Its just a typical Dan Harmon and the crew joke. To make something so potentially cool and then sweep it under a joke. This entire bit was supposed to be funny because it was the "realistic approach". They couldn't have ended it on a bright note because they are incapable of doing that. Morty 100% knows his dad has a very bad mental state and blurted to everyone about the note when he could’ve just told Beth, then Beth would’ve went hard to criticize Rick 1v1 without Jerry knowing. Remember when Morty, Summer and Beth complained to Rick that Jerry needs a W? And Morty took that away.
Blame to Rick, not because it’s the honorable thing to do (that sounds stupid) but because Morty is not a proper outlet to vent. Rick has a therapist.
Morty, Beth and Summer need to get humbled soon.
Agreed on all three. Morty really messed up here. Even the beginning of the episode had a disclaimer to warn people that the episode would address something potentially traumatizing.

I honestly thought Rick was going to tell Morty then wipe his memory and put it with the mind-blowers. That way Rick gets to tell someone but no one else really has to know, along with all that other baggage.

The few moments where Rick trusts Morty and Morty proceeds to fucks things up immediately.
Jerry didn't murder Piss Master. All he did was defend his daughter's honor from him, which mind you, the family was cheering on him for doing it. Any involvement he had with Piss Master ended after that. If anything it was the internet that drove Piss Master to kill himself.
The Internet. The cause of and solution to all of life's problems.

It is like they keep digging themselves into a very deep hole and then complaining about how cramped it becomes.
But when one of them decides to try and climb back up (I.E improve themselves).
The second they slip up and lose their grip, instead of pushing each up back up they are quick to drag them back down.
Rick is no longer the sole cause of their suffering when each of them has a role in perpetuating it.
Rick out of everyone in the family is probably the nicest person in the episode. It might be a little shady lying to everyone but it came from a good place and he seemed receptive to the therapist and wanted to change. The only really questionable thing is he likely traumatised those Orphans with that bomb stunt.
Average family in an adult swim show
Even though almost none of the characters acknowledge it, Morty is actually one of the worst influences in this regard. The teenage members of the Smith family are incredibly shitty towards their parents in a way that goes well beyond being justified by Beth and Jerry's parenting failures.

Well it’s more cause and effect, the reason Piss Master was driven to take his own life is because of Jerry publicly humiliating him (though it started with his family recordings he did parade it), so his actions directly influenced in his death.
It’s like when someone gets cyber-bullied into self harm or worse, we don’t really say it’s for no reason when there’s objective causality to it
That would count as Involuntary manslaughter where Jerry didn't plan on PM taking his own life after he was humiliated by thousands of people. Jerry knew he was defending his family and his daughters pride and didn't expect that it would have lead to PM performing such a dark deed.
It's basically the same as using social media in order to target/harass a person making them feel uncomfortable to the point where they just end it all. While that person didn't do anything physically to the victim it still counts as them forcing someone to take their own life.

Both Rick and Jerry did what they saw as right and it saved many people. Pissmaster's decision was regretful, but *not their fault.* This family is being too critical of what was outside their control.
It's so hilarious and weird when Beth and summer are just mad at Jerry for murdering piss master even after Jerry did beating him up and scare him away for threatening to pee in summer. Like I get it that Jerry was shooting the fake piss master hero as Rick Sanchez for getting rid of the nuke even Rick did set the nuke up and other things but at least Rick does have some heart, when probably another evidence that Rick did pretend to be piss masters to cheer and comfort piss masters daughter, Even it was a total corny move of lying and pretending but at least it's understood. Just to speak about it.
And people wonder why I don't like Morty😭 What did he have to gain by telling Jerry
Jerry gets more and more likable every time something like this happens.
He was a running gag but rn he and Rick seem to be the ones who are even if not good, but at least trying to be nice guys.
God I hate this. The episode was good up until this point. I don’t understand why the writers always feel the need to make the Smith’s so unlikeable. First we see them act terrible towards Morty in the gotron episode, now this. We get that they’re supposed to be toxic but this just sucks. You don’t need to make everyone an asshole just to make Rick’s development stand out more. Not only that, but the writers seemed to completely ignore the fact that Morty’s development was removed from his character as Marta. Here we see him go against Rick so easily, which is something he shouldn’t have been able to do.
In fairness, Rick went to a LOT of effort over a period of several years to make the rest of his family members this bad.

Piss master was already depressed and contemplating suicide. Getting into a fight with Jerry was just the thing that tipped him over the edge.
None of this would have happened if Rick adhered to Dr. Wong's advice.
To be honest when I pick a fight with someone on the street and the guy knocks me out, I am at fault for that.
And when this has further consequences for me, thats my fault too.

Ok, I thought what Rick did was cool and surprisingly selfless, jerry wasn’t in the wrong either he was just defending his daughter. none of this wouldn’t have happened if piss master hadn’t start the fight by sexualizing summer. Have to be honest, if piss maker wanted to prove everyone wrong then he should actually do it and put in the effort than to committee suicide just cause he got humiliated one time. That’s a bit over dramatic. Sorry if I sound like an asshole rn but I’m speaking logically, I feel bad for piss maker but still.

Facts. Under extremely specific circumstances, I can empathize with suicide, but as a general rule, it's not a good answer for your problems. I'm not necessarily one to believe that there's no hope of redemption beyond death, but one thing we do know, where there's life there's possibility for positive change. Piss Master just proved that he would rather kill himself than actually put in the work to be a better person wbich kinda proves he never was one in the first place.

PM 1 got exactly what he wanted in the first place. Attention and a legacy. But because of his actions,he got what he wanted in the worst way possible. He’s/he was the definition of a crybully. and in a way he reflects Rick in a very exaggerated,totally not Harmond’s Fetish way. Both are grandfathers who struggle between going on ego gratifying adventures and becoming a better man for their families. Pissmaster and Rick are the exact same person with different coping strategies.
You could see Piss Master as an analog for taking the piss on people only to be punched down

Jerry did not murder him. If someone kills themselves, you can't call it murder when it happened to be preceded by an event that made the person have a particularly bad day. Imagine I lost my job and then killed myself; did the person who fired me murder me? No.

Pissmaster almost feels like a microcosm of Rick as a character. On the outside looking in, Pissmaster is a flagrant, show-offy asshole who vandalizes property and makes remarks to teenage girls to hit on them essentially, which paints the idea that he's a bad guy who just so happens to have Rick on his list, but when we become the inside looking out, we see that Pissmaster just wanted to be commended for once. To not be made fun of by others, his daughter included. When Rick finds him dead, he realizes that he needed to do something for him because of how similar he felt, realizing that like Pissmaster, he feels alone in the multiverse. On the outside, Rick is an irresponsible, know-it-all egotistical psychopath who more often than not plays God because he can, but when you learn more about him, on the inside, he is consumed by his own self-loathing and constantly chases closure that mocks him at every false turn.
Rick deserves a hero's death.

Yeah, I’m gonna have to say Rick’s at fault here. He could have just not kept the suicide note in his pocket and not tell Morty. Summer, Beth, Jerry and Morty aren’t at fault here though they should remember that suicide is choice and there’s no way Jerry could have saved him. But kudos to Rick for not being toxic for once 🎉

@@dreadpurse Honestly someone who's had such a drastic change in their lives would probably share it with someone close to them aswell. This was one of the only moments Rick actually reflected on himself and seemed a little happy. But Morty becomes quick to make it all painful again and everyone ends up ganging up on him. They admonish him for being vulnerable then nothing is changed in the end. It feels like the suicide note was just an excuse for the family to become miserable again.
