I debated for weeks whether I should even make this video, but I came to the conclusion that I wanted to normalize talking about the difficult moments in my life and that not talking about it never really helped. If anything, it placed the difficulties on some kind of weird pedestal that almost made it feel stigmatized to be honest about it. I'm having a really hard time putting it into words here, I'm not sure if that made any sense. Anyway, thank you for watching and for all the support you've given me already. Like I said in the video, we are all trying to figure out a balance in all of this and everything seems pretty steady right now, so it feels like a good opportunity to start sharing and vlogging again. I hope you'll stick around and help me revive this channel while I find myself again.

Okay, so update on the Ohtani thing... Apparently his locker was cleared out and he (2nd update) just went in for his Tommy John surgery. So... sadly for us, that's not happening. I can't lie, I'm pretty sad about this one. Really thought I'd be able to take my dad to our first baseball game together.
*edit: his sighting in Japan was fake (or old) he is currently recovering in LA after his procedure

I know, trust me, I know how empty other people's atempts at cheering you up may seem, especially when it doesn't seem possible for them to know how you feel, but I really hope you know that a lot of us are behind you, and though we may not be able to do anything directly, we are cheering for you. You are always in our thoughts, and we hope that things keep moving in a positive direction.
Also, don't feel the need to appologise for being inactive on here, even if many people have left the channel, a lot of us will always stand by you no matter how much time you need.
Please remember to take care of yourself as well. Not just for your father, who needs you to be healthy, but for yourself, and your family.

I'm almost 30yo.
I was diagnosed with inoperable stage 4 colon cancer back in 2021.
After few chemo cycles I was able to get a surgery because tumours shrunk.
I had to do 40 more cycles of chemo but now I'm NED for 8 months.
Never lose hope.
What you're doing for your dad is amazing.

I've been a registered nurse for 5 years and been in healthcare for 10 and the human body is one of the most unpredictable crazy things on this earth. There are seconds between highs and lows with health and it's so confronting. Glad to hear the tumours shrunk and i hope someone can help you achieve his dream ❤️ and I respect you so much for being a great carer for him and finding the strength to do such a hard task and for someone you love - all the best!!

I work as a caregiver at a Hospice Care Center & It was after being a caregiver for both of my parents that I discovered that it was a calling for me.
It's Extremely Tough & I understand, to a degree what you're going through.

As someone who has dealt with 3 family members with cancer (2 entered hospice and are no longer with us) I just want to say I'm glad your dad is doing better. As one of the primary care giver at the time just being 17-18 y.o in highschool as well I know how daunting of a task it can be. Having someone willing to support you during this time is such a relief, at the time I was dating my now Wife at 24 and as much as I wished they were both still here I know they impacted me very much few years later as an adult who finally found his footing in the world of cyber security. Cherishing the time you have with loved ones is a great thing and am glad to hear you are able to do this with your dad especially with him doing better. One of my biggest regrets is not spending as much time with my Uncle so hearing that you are doing that trip and in general spending time with your dad is such a great thing to me. I am sure he will be doing just fine and wish you and your family nothing but the best. Looking forward to the vids when you are able too upload!

I am happy that your dad is responding to the treatment. My father was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2016. Which coincidentally was also the same year I had my first born. For the sake of you not having to google it, it is a blood cancer that attacks his bones. We were lucky they found it before it had gotten to stage 2, but he did end up having to have a stem cell replacement procedure which has reduced the cancer to almost zero. He still has to be on a pill that is a management dose of chemo because if he is off of it completely it starts to come back. I will say that when the cancer is under control the next hardest stage is watching your dad age so fast while on a management dose. The brain fog is real too so even though it gets really hard to not be upset when he forgets things or insists his memory is better than yours, try to be patient because that is not under his control. I hope your dad continues to improve and you keep enjoying your little one.

My mother went through an hyper aggressive type of breast cancer, she under went aggressive and experimental treatment...it was rough. My wife and I just had our first child, I cannot imagine handling both a new baby and an ill parent all at once. Glad Mike is, as always such a big column of support, sets a good example for the rest of us. I hope everything works out.
I am so sorry your mother had to go through that... I am praying that she is well after such an ordeal. My dad is actually in a clinical trial for two types of chemo as well. My Dad had lung cancer last year and after our journey of chemo, a surgery, and some unexpected scary moments, he’s in remission now and I feel so blessed but it was scary. Hey, just know that you are not alone. Last year my mother's breast cancer metastasized to her pleura, and like you, I was the one caring for her. She had to have pleuracentesis a few times and had other health complications over the year that made cancer treatment difficult. I'm glad your dad has had improvement, good luck to his and your health.

Hey listen, you're the type of youtuber that I don't expect to have content pumped out constantly. Especially after you had your precious baby! I always hoped we get new content but I just patiently waited because I know life is a thing. Your best content comes from your life and if it takes a while to make a video, then that's just what it is. I'm so happy you gave us an update! YT algo didn't even let me know you had a new video until today (3 days later), but I was so happy to see it! You give us some real sincere shit and that's what is really nice about your content.
I'm a 30-something chinese/mexican female (soon to be married to my best friend of over a dozen years!), in California, and I just want to send you all my love! Your videos help give a lot of perspective that hopefully aids viewers in their own journeys. I feel similarly with my own fiancé/best friend in that there are many things that would have been so much more miserable without their support and compassion and steady nature. It is wonderful you can watch your relationship developed with your husband/daughter and use it to push forward in your own relationship with your dad. I had a rough time with my family growing up but it is through my fiancé that I can hopefully make meaningful connections where gaps are.
The way you so succinctly plan and talk about through these videos is very well thought out and we can see the effort placed in it. Don't feel afraid to get into the nitty gritty. I think your viewers can handle real situations and by sharing, you can really help others not feel so alone about similar situations as well. There's a million ways we, as humans, go through things, and your drop in the perspective-bucket is nothing but help.

I lost my dad to cancer back in April, he was very sick but his treatments were going well, so it was still an absolute shock and punch in the heart when I found him that morning. I lost my grandparents within a year of each other. My grandmother had beaten cancer but unfortunately it returned for a second time. I know the relationship with grandparents versus parents is different but my experience is still confusing, hurt, and I still feel its lasting impacts.

As someone who helped care for my dad while he battled brain cancer back in 2012, I deeply feel for you. Being a caregiver is HARD. Seeing your parent at their sickest is HARD. Please remember to find time to take care of yourself. I know how tough that can be, but just remember to be kind to yourself and take things one day at a time. I'm so glad you have Mike to support you during this time. 💕

I definitely understand what you're going through. My mother had an amputation due to diabetes this year and because of that a lot of other issues surfaces such as her heart and kidney functions being really bad so she's been in and out of the hospital the last three months and I unfortunately live in a different country so travelling back and forth, working and being her heath care representative have been incredibly stressful and anxiety inducing, not knowing what will happen and when. Just when you feel like things are going well something happens that just makes you lose hope. I feel like I'm on edge every time I get a call or every time the doctors come into her room. It's scary. Seeing someone you love go through so much pain both mentally and physically and not being able to do anything about it. I'm so glad that your father is in a better place now with cancer and I hope that he continues to recover successfully! ❤
