I feel what Reina said about being mad. The truth is so many fucking amazing people lost their jobs. It's devastating to someone who's only a fan.
And the fact they all JUST found out they were out of a job. They should have been given at least a month's notice that this was going to happen.
It's bullshit that it happened. I agree! A months notice would've been great for us and for everyone working there :/
from what i heard from some of them is that they were told weeks prior that there was going to be a hiatus and a warning of cancellation but they all hoped for a hiatus instead. then found out over a week ago that the show is being cancelled. that's how things go in business, it sucks, but it is business.
"Amazing people"= awful children who make clickbait instead of getting real jobs
@dan dodge yet you are here, watching, giving your time to people on the internet that don't really necessarily mean anything to you...just saying... oh and i do not have a lot to do today so i have time to waste....
Reina, I totally agree with you. All these amazing people lost their jobs in what seems to have been overnight. That was what really got me when I heard. I mean, just last week they posted the Table Talk saying that it might be on hiatus, and the next thing we know, they are all fired! It seemed like a very quick decision with no warning.
whats the point in buying a growing company just to fire everyone that made it grow
Joel Sweatman I haven't really kept up with all the sourcefed stuff but who got fired??
This was so raw and made it finally click for me that SF is really ending. :(
Now my Christmas will be less interesting because no more Santa Steve
Anime club was the first thing I watched on sourcefed. Thank you for existing.
And when Anime Club was cancelled I stopped watching overall. They had the best content and kept throwing it all away to replace it with bad content. I liked the opinions, thoughts and ideas on TV shows, Anime, and Movies and that got replaced for scripted content.
When did they have that? I stopped watching when joe elliot and two of the other hosts stopped appearing.
This is literally the only video about the end of SF/SFN that seems honest.
She's also probably the only person not under any form of contract or agreement that is related to the matter, being that she left before they were cancelled.
you should watch Suptic's, it's really frank as well and he says why he thinks it got cancelled.
well did you see Ava's video about it? that one seemed pretty truth to heart to me.
That's the main thing that pissed me off the most, it's how all those people lost their jobs and all they got is a weeks notice
All those talented people have a great opportunity to create something new and wonderful, why should anybody be pissed.
Welcome to the work force. You come into work and you realized your whole company fired everyone and moved or went under.
Sorry to hear about the problems you and your friends experienced with SourceFed.
I don't know what is happening recently, but shit is really hitting the fan with everything lately.
I am in denial! I refuse to watch anything about Sourcefed closing (almost). Any day now they will tell us all it was just a poorly timed April fools joke and will resume normal programming.
Reina Scully I thought I was done crying, but then you brought all the emotions back to the surface. Don't think I'll truly be done for a few weeks yet. I legit cried when I saw your video about leaving Sourcefed, (and when Maude left) and now it's like that but x40.
Reina Scully Is there anything else you can say about SuperPanicFrenzy I was a big fan of the channel from the start when they would tease it at the start of Phil's show
I agree with you. It's not just that sourcefed got cancelled but the way it was handled was inconsiderate
Alexandre Well basically Group Nine Media, did a merger, in late 2016, couple months later they abruptly cancel SourceFed. This is a very brief description however, I don't believe anyone has too much better to offer there was really no information given about the details of the cancellation probably due to contracts and agreements.
Innominate yeah Philip DeFranco mentioned it. I tried looking it up but didn't find anything.
guts the demon slayer no he's not. Phil's just as pissed about it,but he can't speak about, because he was the boss of everyone at sourcefed.
wow reina. thank you for being so genuine and cutting through the bs.
Honestly!! So everyone got ONE week to not only adjust to the fact that an era is ending but also they immediately have to think about the future in a terrifyingly uncertain way and find new jobs? One week?
Unfaaaaaair.
Rachel Amidon That's life. But like she said they will easily find a job. I learned to always have a plan b.
Hard for me to fathom that it's even legal.. Here you get at the very minimum 2 weeks notice if you're let go, but when it's basically an entire company like this was, we're talking 1-2 months notice. And severance packages would be handed out to compensate the employees equal to 6 months work I think. At least when it's on the decision of a parent company like this.
Rachel Amidon discover/group nine is a fucking disgusting company for this
Life's not fair, and if you're somebody who's a bottom feeding clickbait generator, you get what you deserve sometimes.
im so sad about sourcefed, not only because so many amazing and talented people just got kicked in the face but also because sourcefed was one of the first youtube channels i was really interested in and kept up with :( i hope everyone who worked there is doing ok (and you as well reina!!)
Didn't cry about the shows being canceled until I watched the final live stream..When Lee and Steve sang....I just sobbed and laughed and sobbed some more....5 years man.... just sucks :(
For me it was seeing all of these crazy talented people get told essentially "its not good enough". It's super discouraging from a creative standpoint for me personally because even if you can get up to a point where you have all these subscribers and views and community built around you, someone can come in and say its not good enough to continue on. Being in the financial field I understand from a business standpoint most of what went down it just sucks all around. Objectively they deserved so many more views daily then they were getting and the show really was on an upswing when they were cut down.
SourceFed and its related channels were a part of my daily routine for 5 years. I'm about to turn 25 and I've been through some major changes so SourceFed was there during some pretty formative years of my life. Seeing it go is kind of like seeing a treasured TV show go but even more intense because SF posted nearly every day several times a day with no real breaks.
Resenese they may have bin on an up tick but that's not much considering the steady drop that they've had over the past 2-3 years. For myself I've bin watching since they started and stuck with it when they replaced a few people then it was only Steve and I dropped sourcefed and was only watching sourcefed nerd and then reina leaving was the last straw for me and I dropped that too.
Resenese I think this is part of it. I also think that merger was done to remove sourcefed.
I was watching the live stream and was just crying so much 😭 and it annoyed me aswell that such beautiful and talented people lost their jobs
The send off from the livestream was really rough to watch. I was so sad :(
smileyy rachyy why does it matter if they are beautiful, do u want bad things to happen to ugly people
I was searching through youtube for Phil Defranco vids and yours popped up. I'm not sure who you are, because I was never into Sourcefed, but I'm sorry for all you and all your friends.
Matt Sawyer she's one of the previous host on SF/SFN. Reina and Steven Suptic made a spinoff gaming channel called Super Panic Frenzy and got canceled like a year ago. After that she left and work for Cruncyroll
Matt Sawyer SourceFed being shut down isn't Phil's fault. He sold those companies and the new parent company decided to shut it down. So I'm gonna say that homeboy saying Phil is trash is just opinion lol
Finally someone has the negative side to all of this. I'm sick of hearing all the positives. Thank u. I needed this.
Even Phil was saying he couldn't say anything on the matter, so I imagine there is some sort of contact, or agreement.
Innominate Phil hasn't been involved or apart of source fed for a long time
ThatGuyWhoHides I know that but that doesn't mean he isn't in any form associated with SF. Up until a month ago, looks like they were in the same building.
SourceFed was literally my favorite channel to watch along with Super panic frenzy
When I heard the news it felt like a huge empty hole in my heart
I can't even fathom the idea of not seeing the Sourcefed team all working together. The hosts. The producers. The editors. Everyone. It just seemed liked, for the first time in a long while, Sourcefed was on its way up and getting better and better with each new episode, segment and podcast. And as much as I was iffy about the new hosts, especially after Maude and you left, I really have come to adore them and all of their quirks. As much as I loved and treasured this last week--that was filled with some dope as highlights--I just...can't.
Ikr...I didn't watch sourcefed but I do watch Phil and other related channels and such, and it's crazy to think of an office without all of them. I just imagine them as a part of that environment, it's gonna be real strange without it
I subscribed to everyone's individual channel that I could. But while they're all so talented on their own, they were amazing together.
the worst thing is that buzzfeed is still alive and kicking and it's total garbage, yet sourcefed was actually good
Exactly! They SHOULD have come up with a better solution. What was the point of buying and merging the channel if they couldn't afford to keep it going?!
Keeping channel on the life support is bad business. Of course the other solution was to layoff 50% of employees or cut their salary, im sure people wouldn't complain about that...oh wait.
I really appreciate you posting this video, Reina. And I hope a lot of the SF/SFN/PBL/SPF fans watch it because it's therapeutic to hear one of the hosts expressing their anger. Everyone (I'm assuming because of NDA's and such) are just talking about how sad and disappointed they are. You're the first one to actually say "Wait, hold on, this situation sucks for so many reasons and I'm mad at those reasons." Anger is just as valid as the regret, and the disappointment, and sadness. Thank you for sharing these feelings with us, and with so much class.
Phil has spoken as much as he can, but you have to remember that he wasnt involved in any way. He had zero control over SF and the other channels, as he sold them years ago to discovery. He has sort of alluded to potentially speaking more later, but that it would be unprofessional of him to speak about it know.
He kept it very matter-of-factly for "legal reasons" according to himself. I'm not positive what legal reasons those are.
He mainly expressed how proud he was of that project and of the talented people there. And he had to point out that he isn't just saying that, he also means it.
We need bummer videos, it's nice to know that other people feel bad about things too.
a-fucking-men! I was so mad and upset when i heard about it all..
I'm upset too.. I just got onto source fed a few months ago.. and now it's gone. I loved seeing the content in my sub feed.
You don't need to apologise Reina, you have every right to vent. I think it's a really nice thing that you've spoken up about all the talented people that have been affected by a super shitty decision.
This whole video is why Reina was one of my favorite hosts.
Wow they're really going all out for this April fools joke
MolotovBurner100 there last video was posted today i follow william haynes on snap chat and i saw all the sound proof foam was torn off the wall i doubt they would do that for a joke
I never thought of that :/ It doesn't make sense that a channel that can obviously generate income would just shut down. Good call.
They were talking about Moving to a new location so Maybe They are just Moving and making a new channel i hope
I tweeted like a dozen SF people, cast and crew last night just thanking them for everything they've done
do you think they'll finally unprivate the fucking anime club videos? I wanna watch that again!!
loly337 whaaat?? I was actually gonna rewatch them all, from the beginning when ross and meg hosted it
Copyright. Even if the channel is dead you can still get copyright infringements.
I'm pretty sure that someone who had sent in a response video for a different show (Movie Club) contacted SF saying that they wanted their image private and so to respect that person's wishes and to preemptively protect themselves and other people they made all the videos with viewer responses private.
SourceFed was ok, it's buzz feed that needs the boot
I feel like my girlfriend of 5 years just got killed in a car accident and all of her stuff is still in my house. I'm really gonna miss sourcefed.
Chris Caviness - Ironically, i got hardcore dumped the day they posted the "last week" vid. It's been a depressing week in a lot of regards for errybody. but yea, i can say that dealing with sourcefed ending has been harder than the break up lol
dothest thou even hoist Hang in there, bud. We're all depressed together. \o/
dothest thou even hoist lol yeah its more akin to a family member passing away...
Seems like this shit came out of nowhere. Maybe I'm just out of the loop but first I heard of this was on Philly D's channel. I had to DIG to find out anything about one of my favorite channels was just "oh by the way, we are done...BYE!!!" This sucks.
Stanley Scalf it was sprung on them too, they literally only got a 2 weeks notice maybe a little less
Franchesca Okami not even two they were told last Thursday or Friday :/ so shitty
Yea, they made a video about Table Talk going on hiatus, and then boom, they all got fired.
Discovery has owned all of SourceFed and other shows on CZcams for a while and they dismantled them all to form 'Group Nine' which is backed by certain agendas (you can tell from seeker stories' new show). It seems Discovery isn't after profit (I think someone from SourceFed was saying that they were on an uphill during their last days). So who knows what Discovery is trying to do with this new 'Group Nine'.
This is why I love Reyna... she keeps it 💯 The first "real" video since I found out SourceFed was cancelled. Thank you for this Reyna 🙇
This it fucking real. Thank you for being honest and talking about the hard reality that everyone either can't or won't.
I'm really sorry for the way super panic frenzy was handled and how it just suddenly ended
I cried during the Final Sourcefed livestream last night. Also just realized my phone's autocomplete suggests Sourcefed before any other word when I type S. ;-;
So surprised that there wasn't more to the story there. I heard the cancellation rumors last weekend and thought "surely they'll just downsize and rework the channel before scrapping everything."
So wrong. So fucked.
Why wouldn't discovery just cut a couple of their shitty news shows that nobody watches instead of SF, SFNerd, and PBL? There are like 20 of them
I watched the whole live stream last night and cried a lot. They are all amazing. I have subscribed to everyone's channel and have been watching their videos. Ava probably said it best, they were just getting over a hurdle and they did it and didn't have enough time to let them shine. Everyone always talked about how they weren't Lee or Elliot or Joe or Trisha, but there were themselves and that was more than enough. I wish nothing but the best for them all. I'll miss the laughs.
I felt like such a loser when I went to work after hearing about the cancellation & I just felt so down. Like why is this affecting me so much?
But I guess they feel like my friends too. :/ 💛
SPF is what brought me to SF.
You and Suptic have great chemistry. The video where you psychoanalyzed Suptic's personality was amazing. It seemed like you didn't even have to try to be funny, ya'll just were.
Same. Saw the SPF crossover with Funhaus, then somewhere else I saw Steven and Reina in the "Straight White Boy Texts" series, fell in love with Steven (full homo), and started watching SPF. Only started watching other SF content due to constantly seeing it in my recommendations.
I'm totally with you Reina. It's totally bullshit how SourceFed got cancelled just out of the blue... Whatever company owned it, made the WORST decision they could have ever made... Especially since they didn't even think about keeping on the team!
I really hope that maybe they all just get together and start their own thing! Philly D would probably help them out and all. I'm going to miss them so much :c
Sad and mad might be the best way I've felt all week last week about the situation with SourceFed. The positives is that they're all talented and I can't wait to see who lands where. I'm subscribed to all of the former hosts too and I can't wait to see what their channels will put out now that they have more free time. Suptic's channel has been putting out amazing vlogs the last week and a half.
THANK YOU I have been Raging for days cause all these people lost their FUCKING JOBS. They are all amazing and they just lost their home and the place where their family stays. Like I want to find the people that pulled the trigger and give then what for. Like WTF
I'm really glad someone finally got real about SourceFed ending, it just came out of nowhere and it was so heartbreaking watching that last live stream. My oldest brother and I always watched sourcefed together and the videos made me so happy. Thanks for this video Reina! Take the time you need, we'll be here when you're ready
Keep calm and what is that a coffee machine?
Thank you for acknowledging that so many people have just lost their jobs, I feel like the older OG hosts didn't do that in the stream
Shelby Hayes, I know what ya mean but I think they did that more for a "keeping everyone positive" bit. It could easily have been a six hour stream of bitching about how unfair the cancellation was instead of a final reminder of how fun and unique of a channel they had.
think it was a bit for everyone to keep going you can think negative go no where with those emotions or think positive and one door closes another one opens
100% agree with keeping the stream positive! And I also loved what Joe said about the current hosts and crew!
holy shit, I was just thinking about you and SourceFed.
Reina and Will on Anime Club got me into Sourcefed. Really appreciate your honesty on Sourcefed. You a real one.
this is so sad. I never watched much sourcefed, but I saw most of you on Philly D and how much you all were family. I'm so sorry for all of you, but I know you're all going to great places.
Reina,
Thank you for saying this, I agree absolutely, laying off your entire workforce on a week's notice is monumentally cunty.
I do have one question:
From an outsider's perspective, it appeared that Philip DeFranco's Sourcefed and Discovery Networks' Sourcefed felt like completely different places. Was this the case? If so, how did it feel different being there?
I don't think the worst thing about SourceFed getting cancelled is people losing their jobs. Because as we all know, that situation will not last long, they are all extremely talented to a point that I personally take inspiration for my own work just by watching their videos. They are all amazing at what they do, from host to producers, from cameramen to writers; everyone...
The worst part is they are losing "that amazing working environment". I'm not talking about us, watchers, not having the SF experience anymore, all of us will find something new to get fanboy about (heck, some people will refuse to let SF go for a long time and keep watching all old videos over and over, like me); no, I'm talking about losing that great place to get up every morning and go, all the hard work those people put into the videos for years, and endless opportunities to come. That is the part that sucks for them.
I wish I could say "I'm going to keep being fan of all those people and watch everything they make no matter where they go", but I'm a realist. I'm just going to say that I'm extremely happy that I had the chance to experience every beautiful thing along the way. Hope the best for all of them. Keep rocking SF people.
Gumbino, it rarely is. However, prior experience *is* and all of them have that, so they're good because their foot is already in the door.
These days it's so tough to get a decent job in the production business that's not seasonal, part time or daily-hire. Yes, the people at SourceFed are very talented...but in today's market, you're almost better off starting your own business.
More than likely a large amount will have to migrate into work they don't want to do just so they can pay the rent. That is what happened to a lot of people I knew in video games and animation industry when they got laid off. Most careers in these types of industries are very short lived.
Can someone tell me why in every Sourcefed members "no more sourcefed" personal channel videos they aren't mentioning the company that shut them down and putting them on blast?
Do you think that singed that when they first joined sourced or after the latest company bought them out?
I don't know. I imagine depending on who owns the company rules change. I've never been involved in a buyout so I don't know. If I had to guess I would say existing cast/ behind scenes had to sign to keep their job, but anyone new probably had to sign before coming on.
For me sourcefed was done once Joe Beretta, Elliott Morgan, and Lee Newton left.
The original, yeah, but it became something else that I still liked. The new hosts grew on me. Just wish others gave them a chance.
I think SF going is such a seismic thing for everyone who has been involved. And it is deviating that so many people are getting left with nothing, or it seeming like nothing. I've followed everyone and can't wait to see what else they do.
I see where you're coming from, Reina. These were, are, A-List people, wonderfully talented and constantly enjoyable, not just through their work, but as people. It was really surprising, at least for me, that even though the era finished, holy shit 40 people, good working nice people, lost their jobs at the snap of a finger. I don't think anyone really believed it would finish, but everything good comes to an end. On the plus side, they are extremely talented, surely they'll find more opportunities with the skills and relationships they made on the channel! Anyway, that's my two cents, Love ya' Daddy-Senpai!!
Oh my God!
This os what the last 2-3 years of my life have been like:
1st. I finally get into all of the SF channels and start loving it. 2nd. One of my favorite CZcamsrs (Suptic) starts an awesome gaming channel with one of my fav SF stars (Ringus). 3rd. My super shitty Photoshop of Reina as a giraffe is featured on SPF. 4th. That glorious channel ends and Reiner them Maude leaves. 5th. When things start to slowly come back and bee okay (even old segments start to come back), BOOM! Big daddy SF is hit with the cancel.
This is some rotten cheese, man. I will everyone the best of luck.
The live stream was so great and I felt it was everything we all needed, it didn't really hit me until the morning. I almost feel bad about being sad because while I (like many others) have lost a channel I loved watching multiple times a week, I didn't just publicly and suddenly lose my job. I watched those videos and laughed and loved but I didn't spend my days there or have a true personal connection with everyone.
The amazingly talented men, women and smooth chicken boys that we owe our last 5 years to deserve so much more than they got.
The sourcefed hosts should keep doing the SFpodcast (or a new one) and do a video or 2 a month with help from SF crew, all supported through patreon. That way sourcefed will never die!!
It's the Blum-Fox Any thing Sourcefed is property of the company that bought them shut down sourcefed and from what I understand several other channels. (Group9 or some shit like that) any they've nixed using the SourceFed name or resource for anything....
It's good to vent and a video like this is valuable. I want to say that I got back from my first trip to Japan yesterday and your content was the most valuable stuff I watched (which competition was stiff) before and during my trip; I can't wait to go back. Thank you.
SF, SFN, SPF and PBL videos were always there to cheer me up and just make my day better. I'd laugh and cry and even though i live on the other side of the world, i dreamt of seeing a live show and meeting you guys one day. It's so upsetting that something important to so many people was just cancelled. I'm sad and mad especially because everyone working there was fucked over. The editors and production team were amazing and all the hosts made me feel like it was alright and even cool to really nerd out and love what i love and I learnt so much over the past 5 years. SourceFed was full of so much talent, genuine passion and potential and I wish for the best for everyone that was a part of it. Thank you guys
I can't imagine how you feel. I'm sad and angry and I never worked there, I never met any of these people. Still, I care for every single person that worked there and it pisses me off that I won't get to see them in a single place again, that I won't be able to check in with them daily. It really is the end of an era :(
yeah totally feel you atm, I had this nagging feeling during the livestream: They summed up all these memories, and I truly believe the cast and crew dealt with this the way they deal with most things in life; with humor. I was genuinly happy and laughing during the livestream but when I saw Ava and Audrey cry it hit me, it really was the last time I would see all of them together like that. Man i`m gonna miss it. And all the promises that comes with following them all on social media, but it will probably never be the same with the production and editing. Ah, kinda felt good to speak out about it.
I loved it when they talked about news. I wasn't a big fan of the change.
Reiiiiiinnnnaaaaaa
thank you for posting this. u can't imagine how hard this is for you and everyone else. i already miss SF and all the talented people. (i subbed to everyone individually that I hadn't before) thank you for being honest. 💖💖💖
SOURCEFED and SourcefedNerd were the two channels I spent the most time watching over the past 5 years. I really felt like as the channel grew, so did I. No matter what kind of day I was having, they were always there and im honestly devastated about it all. I am behind you one hundred percent, could this not have been handled better? Was there no other way? It's just... heartbreaking...
I'm absolutely devastated about SourceFed. I have been watching for a long time, and I seriously thought there was no way it would ever go away. I feel so fucking stupid now for thinking that, and I'm filled to the brim with guilt. I hadn't been watching much of SF the last year because I've been going through life-altering changes, and I just didn't have time. I thought SF would be fine, I loved the new hosts, and I stupidly thought they didn't need my support. I was wrong, I should have been watching and I should have commented my support for the new hosts. I know that SF ending isn't entirely my fault, but I can't stop feeling guilty... I'm so sorry.
Vent away. Get it all out. Things happen and one of the best ways is the vent it out.
I hope that a channel like Sourcefed comes into existence. The videos always made me so happy. Everyone was such great friends and they lost the job that so many people would consider their best job. It's sad that it had to end and it's so much more sad about how it ended.
What's making me sad is seeing the sourcefed family being separated :C
This whole situation is so confusing and such bullshit. I understand that they're cancelling things because of budget, but these also aren't TV shows. You're cancelling 4 youtube channels, but they don't just go away. They just sit there, including all of the content made before discovery bought the whole thing. CZcams is a different animal all together. I thought it was such bullshit when superpanicfrenzy was stopped.
Maybe I don't have enough of an understanding of how this is all supposed to work, and I understand that paying for all of the staff, the space, etc is what it came down to. It's just that while everyone knows Discovery was technically the owner, the content wasn't theirs; the people weren't theirs.
Again, I know they own the rights and bought the channels, and they don't have the emotional attachment nor do they care, but it was here before discovery and it should be able to continue without it. It's a privilege to be able to work with such hilarious and talented people. It's such garbage that they think they can throw away something that wasn't wholly theirs to begin with.
Basically, fuck them.
It was there before discovery because Phil was paying for it out of pocket once the money from google quickly dried up. Now there's no one around to actually fund it.
Oh absolutely, and the pragmatic side of me understands that Discovery was the reason that SourceFed got to continue doing what they did.
The sentimental side of me is thinking about how CZcams was done before all of these big companies got involved. I guess it's more like this was uniquely theirs before discovery came along, and that it should go back to them, if they could figure out how to get the funding. Obviously it's the funding of it that's the biggest issue.
One of those, "in my day, we had to walk uphill both ways in the snow to put out youtube videos. get off my lawn. oy, my hips."
Sourcefed has been a daily part of my life since the day it launched, and to see it suddenly ripped from all the people that loved it so dearly is heartbreaking.
I have grown up watching the hosts, and they picked me up with their silly antics countless times through the years.
Thank you Reina for your realness and vulnerability through sharing the crazy mix of emotions you're experiencing. It's times like this when supporting each other is so incredibly important!
The only choice now is to look at the situation in positive light. Bigger and better things for everyone at Sourcefed!
Hope you start feeling better Reina!
P.S. Boys only club is amazing you and Supdick are perfect.
Thank you for making this video; I stopped watching SourceFed a while ago because I didn't feel the content was fresh or exciting but enjoyed some of the characters, you included.
I love how real you are! It is not possible to always be happy especially when something like this happens
Thank you Reina I was really angry for the sourcefed crew as well, and you really condensed those thoughts well.
I ended up looking up the good ol' Sourcefed Presidential Succession song and because CZcams, I'm here. I never watched the show when Reina was on Sourcefed, but I've seen her in Phil's videos. And darn straight, this was devestating.
This is where true sadness comes from--from love. Reina loved Sourcefed, and loved the people there because they are what made it a home and a family. With that being ripped away, it leaves a hole where the love sat. And that hurts, having something you love dying like that. I know it doesn't help that you aren't there, which makes it feel like this thing is being done right on your face and you can't stop it or just reach out and hold it and just hug it out--you can't hold someone and just let it out. But this is where real sadness comes from, out of love.
It's fine to feel this way, Reina. It's actually one of the most human things we get in life, and it rips your heart out. I hope this put into words at least some of the feelings that are happening.
With
It really hurt, I consider all of you family 😞
I went through my teens watching SourceFed so it was a very big part of my life, seeing it not be there any more is very saddening to me. I miss the faces and laughs that I remember, on so many days where I just wanted to cry. I miss the stories and the different points of views expressed. In short I hope nothing but the best for the whole cast and crew going forward. You guys will be sorely missed. Love you all
glad to know you actually cared when SPF ended cause at the time I feel like you and Steven kept it to yourselves cause of legal issues and such and felt kinda abandoned on the topic since I loved the show being there when it was first announced and watching every single video on release not just cause I loved all the content but cause I genuinely like you and Steve anyways, best of wishes, stay well Reina
I was so glad we got an even mix (until the end) of the original hosts and the new hosts hanging out and doing things. While I understand that Sourcefed was sort o seen as "taken over" by other hosts, I was upset that the OGs totally hijacked the last couple of hours for themselves. Joe tried to allow Suppy, Ava, Candace, and Mike to have their own time at the end, but it felt like nobody wanted to talk about the people who had immediately lost their jobs. The editors only got a short segment, barely any of the producers got a spot to really talk. I was pleased with the livestream over all, but I also felt like sourcefed/nerd gen 2 got overlooked a little bit.
I love how genuine you are in this video. I assume a video like the one with many former hosts could only happen because there is genuine love for SourceFed and the people there, which warms my heart.
Also, many of the first comments I saw about the cancellation were people who asked whether the SF people would be okay, what will happen to them now and how long ago was their notice? They were rather enraged by the fact this all happened to people so fast.
The audience identifies the most with hosts, but I definitely noticed that many cared about the people more than they cared losing the content they provided.
I don't know if there was another solution for this, but I don't think anyone at Discovery can, given what we know, fault us for at the very least feeling like this entire thing is unfair.
I also don't know if venting ever helps with anything, but hopefully it will help to know that we hear you, Reina, and we defintely understand and share your feelings.
This whole sourcefed thing has given everyone a massive view spike. Blessing and a curze.
I remember when I first found Sourcefed and Sourcefed Nerd. I was so happy. You guys were and are funny and nice. My favorite thing was the table talks. I loved hearing all of the stories. You guys were such a family and I hate to see the channels canceled. 😢 I'll really miss all of them.
Honestly, I was really waiting for one of the hosts to say they were pissed. They all said that it was a bummer and how sad they were but I really wanted someone to just say how fucked up it was.
This is the type of video to put a nose strip on to.
Because i know i won't be smiling.
I remember when I first discovered Sourcefed in about early December by accident while watching "try not to laugh" videos on CZcams and I came across Sourcefed try not to laugh challenge part 2 in the suggestions. and then I discovered when Reina was in the part 1 video. sorry and sad to see the amazing channel go. I really wish I had discovered Sourcefed sooner, it sounds like you guys had an absolute BLAST over the years!! hope all the guys find new jobs they can enjoy just as much as they did on Sourcefed
Thank you for making this video cause I feel the same way. And the worst part was I have still not even seen a video about Phil explaining what went wrong or why everything had to be canceled. I'm gonna look again after this. But I still have all the posters I bought on my wall and I still have all the great and amazing memories. Someone on one of the videos called it a hiatus and I'm hoping that's all it is and someday it all comes back. All I can say to you is I'm so sorry about all your friends. But they will come back from this :)
Not everything has to be positive. The fact that you still put out content that is real makes people come back and care for you as well as the community. Life is not always great but doing this can at least show that people who feel like this aren't alone. You're awesome and I can't wait to see what everyone does because there is so much talent in the free agency of creatives now. Lol
I hate corporations they see numbers not people
I went through a similar situation about a year ago. An entire studio of 40+ extremely talented people lost their jobs. Most have gone on to bigger and better things others have gone back to smaller jobs and its so heartbreaking. I was so so lost when that happened but it does get better.
Channel meant so much to me it started off my first year of high school and has followed me since. I don't actually watch TV so Source Fed WAS my news.
Can't buzzfeed just be cancelled instead
Kyle Edwards - Williams THIS

Did you see Suppy's vlog when that woman mentions BuzzFeed? LOL
