    Fantastic video numistacker best yet, good to see all the sovereigns together for 2017, the standard bullion and strike on the day in February having swords not spears. They look great and very collectible.

    Thanks for showing all these Sovereigns live and in-hand. They are truly stunning! I managed to buy 3 of them, having ordered the strike-on-the-day Sovereign from the Mint based on your alert - Thanks! I bought the bullion one from Apmex, and the half proof from the secondary market. Can't wait for my strike-on-the day to arrive.

      @SemiNumiGuy Před 7 lety

      Yes, I noticed that. I have the bullion in front of me and it looks like there is more of a copper tint to it compared with the proof. I'll have to highlight it when I do my video after I receive the BU Sovereign.

    Reference question why is the soverign size the collector focus, the low sub$400 cost the history, the variety or all, I am more attracted to bigger sizes but I am not british I have no clue you got me interested and just bought my first kings head sov 1920 but find it very small at first I thought I screwed up and bought a half sov your feedback appreciard when I see a 5 sov it just is amazing even the 2 sov but not what collectors focus on thanks

  • @losinglouie
    @losinglouie Před 7 lety

    I love the BU semi-proof. They are being kicked across the pond as we speak. Very good advice you gave there, as was Shadow Stacks. All three of the releases were amazing. Pretty nice advice therefor a pumper (and I say that with all affection!) Is it pumping when people make a bunch of money, eh? Take care, LL

    • @Numistacker
      @Numistacker  Před 7 lety +2

      losinglouie I think it's pumping when people talk up something that has no value and then sells out before the prices crash. Since I barely ever sell anything as I prefer to grow wealth I don't think I am even an affectionate pumper. But there are things I like for sure and sometimes I spot deals like you do. I am probably guilty of being too enthusiastic but we are all guilty of that one )) Shadow stack may be right about mint opportunism. Isn't the American dream built on opportunism..? I can say that buying these coins was not easy at all. They are very expensive but if I need to sell some silver I will do. Every now and again the mint score a hit and with these it's a little like the 2014 Britannia we all recognize special when we see it. All the best and have a great weekend.

    • @losinglouie
      @losinglouie Před 7 lety +1

      Sure thing buddy. Just giving credit where credit is due and, no, you are not a pumper. Informing people of things that are interesting, beautiful, and have monetary potential is a service. Let the adults have the information, and they can decide for themselves. Take care, LL

    @robertw9677 Před 7 lety

    I know very little but seems to me piedfort is the one this year, i bought one of the strike of day coin vs your suggestion i got the early 750 mintage one found 4 piedforts for 985 pounds seemed like good deal not so far from original mint price plus i like higher gold content thanks numis all this because of you, was just a vintage silver buyer but youe vids low mintage sold out fast got me

  • @MancunianStacker
    @MancunianStacker Před 7 lety +1

    So I'm guessing before year end they will release a long sovereign piedfort set. I'm think they will keep the piedforts going every year now.

    • @jsilverchannel
      @jsilverchannel Před 7 lety +1

      Mancunian Stacker If they make a bullion version then I will get it!

    • @Numistacker
      @Numistacker  Před 7 lety +3

      It would seem to be a possibility though I think they are successful this year because of the design. Regular non special year proof sovereigns normally lose from the RM price so Piedfort versions of them unless mintages are tiny may not be a good buy

    • @MancunianStacker
      @MancunianStacker Před 7 lety

      Numistacker they may have got onto the fact a design change each year will sell more coins but I agree there is only one garter coin and they can't keep using it (surely). 👍😉

      That would be cool but I dont think they are going to do that but imagine - 1/4 1/2 5*full 2 2x5 would make a cool set

    I'm a bit puzzled on the plain edge sovereign and the details. The box and outside of the certificate say brilliant uncirculated. But inside the certificate it says it is proof. What is it BU or proof. It's all conflicting as to its identity. I went back and looked at your video on the day of release and in the details it clearly says BU and no mention at all about proof. The 5 sovereign is definitely BU and from what I have seen all packaging reads BU and in and outside of the certificate. Can anyone please shed some light.

    • @Numistacker
      @Numistacker  Před 7 lety

      Paradox Est.3000 it's puzzling a few people. They sometimes make mistakes ) maybe they will issue a replacement like they did on the Britannia 2016 set.

    • @goodasgold7167
      @goodasgold7167 Před 5 lety

      Just revisiting some older Numi videos and can contribute to the £5 sovereign discussion if you're no further forward with this. There were 1,000 £5 sovereign BU deep proof like coins released in individual boxes. There were also 750 proof box sets released containing the £5, £2, sovereign, half and quarter sovereigns. Therefore there were only 750 £5 proofs and they were only originally available in the box sets (obviously an unknown number of purchasers of the sets separated the coins and sold them off separately, perhaps after having them graded). The proof version and BU deep proof like version are virtually identical on the reverse side of the coin. However the latter coin is just BU on the obverse (queen's head) side and does not have any deep proof like finish on that side of the coin. It's a great alternative to the proof version though. I'm not sure if any other year £5 BU sovereigns have the deep proof like finish but I can't think of any. Hope this helps.

    Dont you think the mint is just milking investors coming out with so many diff sovs this year if you didnt spend your time showing i would be totally confused anf screwed up not buying the right one i am mostly a silver buyer and vintage bars are not too confusing coins you need lots of knowledge my thanks for sharing I will look for the first day issue you suggested

    • @Numistacker
      @Numistacker  Před 7 lety +1

      +Robert Walterman they have a difficult job )) in 2018 they will be scrabbling about for an anniversary. The market is the arbiter on this. All the coins were absorbed and sold out quickly. I don't think everyone needs every variety but at least they are providing choice
