Wow just come across this video I purchased a half sovereign 2017 Carter band around the coin I saved it of being scrapped I spotted it and bought it I know nothing about it but I loved it iv never seen one before glad I saved if from being melted down top video thanks.

Thanks Numi, this is the only way I will get to see these beautiful coins. I did own a BU 1887 quintuple sovereign, but that had to go in 1980.

I bought quite heavily from 1984 to 2001 when I gave up until Dec 2013. Late in 2013, the Canadian dollar was high enough to make gold attractive again, so I bought more until 2015, since then I have been waiting for a big correction, which may be happening soon. Also the Canadian dollar is going up, which also helps. I do have one proof quintuple sovereign from 1985, mintage 13,000, which I bought in 1996.

Numi does only the special sovereign got that nice edge? I see the regular has a different edge, that makes me not really into the sovereign but the proof has a nice thick edge with some words. Can you tell me something about that?
+Boyka Unlimitted the BU Sovereigns (1817 minted) have a plain edge and all others have the regular edge
The best in my view of all sovs I want several have only the1984 not a great year 1989 at top of wish list
So on 2017 why buy proof when bu done so well?
It would be amazing to just be in the room with those beauties. Oh, I wanted the five pounder, BAD. But, I would have had to sell something to get it; my wife!
