  • Introduced to the U.S. in 2012, the Avant loader lineup is a mashup of equipment types. With an established following in Europe and growing popularity in North America, it's not quite a wheel loader, not quite a skid-steer. It's really it's own thing entirely. In this video we break down what makes these machines so unique.

    Have owned Avant loaders since around 2005, a 20hp chain drive. I am probably up to my 5th or 6th loader, gradually increasing hp to the current 745. Great machines. Front mounted cab is no problem, and telly boom is so useful. I use mine for both tree work and excavation. I keep thinking I should get a skid steer but the Avant just has so many advantages. Telly boom, great climbing traction, almost zero ground damage, low tyre wear, amazing lift capacity, easy entry/exit and lest than 1400mm wide. And reasonably easy to remove ROPS to get under low roof. Great combination with my 3.5 tonne excavator. Now ready for an 860!

    We have had 2 Avant Loaders now, the current one is 15 years old and only recently after over 2000 hours we have finally replaced the front tyres. they still had plenty of tread but were just 15 years old.. just a great example of how little wear and tear there is on these machines and onto the surfaces you operate on.
    In the landscaping industry, no other machine comes close for its size, stability, flexibility, power and versatility.

    I live in Australia, got an avant530+ loader second hand about five years ago( wasn’t cheap) but absolutely love it, had a bucket, forks, trench digger, mower and lifting boom. As you sit on the front portion you can see so much of what you are digging, and yes it doesn’t even scratch your lawn when turning, you can engage wheel lock for better traction, which will mark the lawn a bit, but nothing like a skid steer. One happy operator😁

    Avants aren't really stacked against skid-steers, but against compact tractors. They are mostly used in plowing snow and sanding on pathways, driveways and parking lots, lifting pallets, doing many kinds of farm work, and mowing grass, brush and roadsides. Avants are much more nimble and can work in narrow spaces such as on walkways, in cattle sheds or barns and at construction sites. I would describe their philosophy as "one man, one machine, 20 jobs easily done".

    Avant are brilliant, so much more versatile compared to a skidsteer, & very underated,has side entry, which is far safter than a traditional skid steer.
    Have use the 635 & the larger 760i, with back hoe, concrete breaker,mower, pallet forks, & various buckets,the Avant is far superior to the skid steer.

    That CASE had in its early wheel Loaders, I like the teliscope, in these small loaders to lift to dump in trucks. I remember the petiboone, military loaders forklift
    That looked like a bigger model of these we had them in are motor pool. Used them on
    LCM-8s, to load cargo on and off.

  • @jlpease995
    @jlpease995 Před rokem +1

    I own two tractors, selling them both because these type of machines are more versatile and superior (lifting) than both tractors combined. The higher flow hydraulics is key for me. I know they have an adapter plate for universal skid steer attachments, that is a big buying point for me, don’t want to be locked into using only proprietary attachments

  • @Dunki113
    @Dunki113 Před 2 lety +1

    I would love to get a 760i because weighing 4600lbs that's the weight of one of our truck mounted forklifts except this can be used with a bucket, forks, or almost any attachments.
    The weight of it is a plus for me because I can load it on a gooseneck with a set of forks plus some cargo for the small odd jobs we get and be used at the yard with the bucket and such for moving material around.

    Bobcat in the 80s had a small articulated loader, to so nothing new to bobcat. Just a renewed interest because others came out with one an selling more. Bobcat in some ways is like Cat, they think because there a house name people will buy there instead of Avants loaders. To kill the competition.

    Looks like a nice machine, except for one BIG disadvantage, the cab is mounted on the front frame. And that is a big design fault. Not very comfortable maneuvering compared to a loader of the same size with a rear mounted cab. I think a company called Giant makes a same size machine with a rear mounted cab. Now that is useful.
