- Introduced to the U.S. in 2012, the Avant loader lineup is a mashup of equipment types. With an established following in Europe and growing popularity in North America, it's not quite a wheel loader, not quite a skid-steer. It's really it's own thing entirely. In this video we break down what makes these machines so unique.

These machines are literally the handiest machines in the world we own one and it does everything on the farm
Have owned Avant loaders since around 2005, a 20hp chain drive. I am probably up to my 5th or 6th loader, gradually increasing hp to the current 745. Great machines. Front mounted cab is no problem, and telly boom is so useful. I use mine for both tree work and excavation. I keep thinking I should get a skid steer but the Avant just has so many advantages. Telly boom, great climbing traction, almost zero ground damage, low tyre wear, amazing lift capacity, easy entry/exit and lest than 1400mm wide. And reasonably easy to remove ROPS to get under low roof. Great combination with my 3.5 tonne excavator. Now ready for an 860!
Have an Avant 420 , best machine I've ever bought, from tree work too mulching, dirt work and everything in between this is by far the most versatile machine I own
We have had 2 Avant Loaders now, the current one is 15 years old and only recently after over 2000 hours we have finally replaced the front tyres. they still had plenty of tread but were just 15 years old.. just a great example of how little wear and tear there is on these machines and onto the surfaces you operate on.
In the landscaping industry, no other machine comes close for its size, stability, flexibility, power and versatility.
I heard that they weren’t as stable as a mini skid on hills. What is your experience on hills?
@@BorderPaps far more stable than any machine.
I live in Australia, got an avant530+ loader second hand about five years ago( wasn’t cheap) but absolutely love it, had a bucket, forks, trench digger, mower and lifting boom. As you sit on the front portion you can see so much of what you are digging, and yes it doesn’t even scratch your lawn when turning, you can engage wheel lock for better traction, which will mark the lawn a bit, but nothing like a skid steer. One happy operator😁
Love these machines. Very quick and easy to operate. So many attachments. But I'm already 60 and ready to retire from the trade so I guess it's a little late for me LOL
Avants aren't really stacked against skid-steers, but against compact tractors. They are mostly used in plowing snow and sanding on pathways, driveways and parking lots, lifting pallets, doing many kinds of farm work, and mowing grass, brush and roadsides. Avants are much more nimble and can work in narrow spaces such as on walkways, in cattle sheds or barns and at construction sites. I would describe their philosophy as "one man, one machine, 20 jobs easily done".
A ‘Green’ Swiss Army multi tool... Awesome machine
We own an 860 with a cab for Landscape construction and snow removal. It's an amazing machine. I put a metal pless 8/13 on it in the winter and I'm shocked at how much it can push. Great for tight spaces too.
Sounds like an interesting unit! Thanks!
I would totally buy one over a skid steer. The smaller one would be perfect for my farm.
These things are absolute beasts in the tree industry
I bought mine through tent ox. Not only do I use it installing my tents but I use it around the farm. bough a few attachments from avant. And I also bought a plate that allows me to put my skid steer attachments on it.
I have 6 attachments for my skid steer. A medium size 50 horse power asv mtl. Will the avant be able to handle those attachments weight wise? Average weight is 700 pounds.
Avant are brilliant, so much more versatile compared to a skidsteer, & very underated, has side entry, which is far safter than a traditional skid steer.
Have use the 635 & the larger 760i, with back hoe, concrete breaker, mower, pallet forks, & various buckets, the Avant is far superior to the skid steer.
Got to love an innovative company!
These are awesome, snow removal video would be cool, v plow is what i am looking for....
This is intriguing. I'll look into these more. I want to get some land and do sawmilling.
Always very interesting thanks for sharing 👍🇦🇺👀
I have a 420 avant tree service, blow away a skid steer or stand on game changer 😁😁😁😁😁👍👍👍
telescoping boom is the absolute game changer because yüu can reach furder even though ss might have more lift the reach is just so handy great for small sawmills also check out castloaders and multione i have worked on a cast pixy st40 it was just unbelieveable how stable and powerful that 1500kg machine is like it picked up a 700kg log to the eye height about 6feet absolutely amazing little machine also the ground was still pretty solid after 3 days of going back and forth with logs
I like the idea of a machine like this and am interested in learning more and possibly buying one for a marine application building sea walls
Interested that was the artic.
That CASE had in its early wheel Loaders, I like the teliscope, in these small loaders to lift to dump in trucks. I remember the petiboone, military loaders forklift
That looked like a bigger model of these we had them in are motor pool. Used them on
LCM-8s, to load cargo on and off.
I own two tractors, selling them both because these type of machines are more versatile and superior (lifting) than both tractors combined. The higher flow hydraulics is key for me. I know they have an adapter plate for universal skid steer attachments, that is a big buying point for me, don’t want to be locked into using only proprietary attachments
I would love to get a 760i because weighing 4600lbs that's the weight of one of our truck mounted forklifts except this can be used with a bucket, forks, or almost any attachments.
The weight of it is a plus for me because I can load it on a gooseneck with a set of forks plus some cargo for the small odd jobs we get and be used at the yard with the bucket and such for moving material around.
Thanks Wayne! I could see these machines being used on golf courses or maybe in a small material sales yard loading small trucks. Other than that I would never have a use for one. Could you make a video talking about Hitachi and Deere? They’re made in the same factory but are they the same machines with different paint?
Great Video!
Avant is my dream loader
thank you for this, I’m hoping their new e6 line comes to the US soon
how to find maintenance and spare parts in florida ?????
I have been checking i to the 635. I was shocked when the quote for it without attachments was 78k. That was for a closed cab with heat and air. Still seemed pricy
I want one as my next large purchase lol... Trying to find out if you can put a skid plate on it so I can use the attachments I currently have...
By "skid plate" you mean an Adapter for picking up Skid Steer attachments? If so, yes you can
Please do stump grinder comparisons
How can I find dealer close to me that have used equipment
With a top speed of only 9 mph that sounds like torment trying to move it down the road for any reason or transfer back and forth across a facility the bobcat articulated loader says it goes 25 miles an hour if I have my information correct
Nice hat.
Tree service. Tree service Tree service
I wonder if anyone has done a comparison between Avant and Power trac. Either way, what keeps me from buying either of them is that they don't have a skidsteer style hookup.
They have an adapter plate, i use all my bobcat accessories with mine.
How many
price
Avant
Do any of them have ac?
I own 5 that float between my farm and landscaping business through out the year I plow almost exclusively with them any more I sold all but one of my skid steers because between these machines and an excavator there isn't much I need a skid steer door other than grading
For tree work they cant be beat
What about a snowblower?
This will be perfect for mi construction debris removal
How is it in the snow and is it 4 wheel drive?

we sell em in africa
got clients that have em for over 10 years with the same tyres
amazing machines but the boom needs to be stronger
Are they stable? Yes. Do they feel stable? No.
it should be called the green ghost, unless your on the east coast where dealers abound, you cant even get a dealer to call you back. I have tried.
There going replace Skider
Bobcat in the 80s had a small articulated loader, to so nothing new to bobcat. Just a renewed interest because others came out with one an selling more. Bobcat in some ways is like Cat, they think because there a house name people will buy there instead of Avants loaders. To kill the competition.
420 since 2014 absolutely bad ass it equals 10 men
Run a 528 every day, I can pick up 1000 pound base pieces with no problem.
Why should I pick Avant over the other? CAST, GAINT, .MULTIONE.
Don't forget Intrepid ;)
@@Miniloaders never seen those before. I will check them out an I just sub to your channel.

why dont you say how over priced they are
Looks like a nice machine, except for one BIG disadvantage, the cab is mounted on the front frame. And that is a big design fault. Not very comfortable maneuvering compared to a loader of the same size with a rear mounted cab. I think a company called Giant makes a same size machine with a rear mounted cab. Now that is useful.
Avant has also machines that have cabs in the rear.
Love my avant didnt like giant
It's not a design flaw.
Actually an advantage... the operator is always in the same plane as the attachment. Really good for pallet handling ... feels just like a standard forklift truck. Also way better visibility over the front to the load, feels like you’re right on top of it.
@@grantstevenson2497 I respectfully disagree with everything you just said.
