- Studies have shown that gut directed hypnotherapy can reduce IBS symptoms for some people. This hypnosis video gives suggestions aimed at IBS relief and reducing the anxiety that can cause or make IBS worse. The hypnosis includes suggestions aimed at reducing IBS symptoms like bloating, stomach cramps, diarrhea and constipation. IBS symptoms can be a cause of anxiety themselves so this IBS relief hypnosis video also addresses anxiety and worry about the meaning of the symptoms.
Released just in time for #WorldIBSDay2023 April 18th - Jak na to + styl
If you interested in the research evidence on the effectiveness of psychological treatments like Hypnosis and CBT for IBS and GERD I have made a video on this subject. Here is a link czcams.com/video/WnUwG9l8EUQ/video.html
Moderate stool retention.. help??
IBS can often be managed with the low FODMAP diet. Although it is not supposed to help with constipation a lot of people find that it does.
This hypnosis really hits the spot for me. While not officially diagnosed with IBS, I get frequent stomach aches at leats partly because of nervousness. I've had medical emergencies involving my abdomen before so just the slightest stomachache sends my nerves into a tailspin And yes it does hurt sometimes after eating
Thankyou ❤ love from Wales 🏴

Fantastic. The sound of a calm, gentle man. What the whole world needs.
I got immediate results! Will listen to daily!! Thank you soooo much
Hey!
Except that I have some gut-problems, my biggest problem is the anxiety with my gut. I have a big problem with not having acces to a toilet, not because I need it but just in case. My gut is not that big of a mess, it’s just ”worst case scenario” thoughts. I find that this hypnos helps me with that as well and not my symptoms. Thanks!
Oh my gosh this is me. I 100% relate to you. No one truly understands what this means.
@@viagotanega9898 Having suffered for almost 8 years with this fear, after a close call 8 years ago, I actually found a LOT of people have the same issue! Unfortunately I still haven't found anyone saying they found a cure or something, only "coping". But yes, it's a much more common fear than people have the courage to admit!
Hi Martin, You are a great man. Thousands times thank you for this video. Your voice is so relaxing. Normally I rarely cry but I started crying during the hypnosis and got so relaxed when it finished. I do not know what happened but I feel better now. 🙂
Thank you very much for this wonderful meditation.
Thankyou Martin! ❣️🙏

Thank you Martin ❤ First time i fell asleep after 10 minutes and second time fell asleep towards the end. But i think my gut was listening to you even after my brain shut down..
This was very good , thanks
Incredible how this works ❤
This really works. I have anxiety-induced IBS, severe shy bladder syndrome (paruresis), and other forms of social anxiety (fear of what people might think of you, etc).
Now I know, but It was very tricky to discover that anxiety was the root cause. While you are suffering all that you don't understand what's going on, you even normalize it, and a lot of investigation, and questions, and answers, are required to get to the realization that it is indeed anxiety what is causing everything. It took me several years to realize it, I'm 22 years old now but I've been having these problems since forever. I also suspect I have some PTSD or C-PTSD from childhood, I wasn't treated very well at home or at school, so I didn't feel safe anywhere, and I think that turned into some complex body coping.
I also find it interesting that like me, you have a big diastema (big gap between your front teeth). It's probably unrelated, but just a fun fact.
Anyways, now that I know the root cause, I can start working on it properly. Thanks and good luck to you too.
Have you seen my series on paruresis? czcams.com/video/E5Da0DTQ3J4/video.html
I started crying of release when he said Googling your symptoms.
This video has been a tremendous help! Thank you so much.
You're very welcome!
This is so helpful and similar to yog nidra. But thanks for sharing such useful content. Medications often make me feel restless and anxious about IBS from a few months but this guided session really helps to calm down.
Thank you Martin you're my greatest find and help! This video can be used for virtually any disorder, i.e. ovarian cysts, HBP, heart disease, any area where you're having problems. Could you make the same hypnosis video for general internal disorders? Thank you and many blessings ❤
That was absolutely wonderful, thank you
You're very welcome

Thats great to hear. Keep doing it.
I don't know if you have seen it but I made a video about anxiety and stomach problems which looks at the research evidence for gut directed hypnotherapy. You may find it interesting. czcams.com/video/WnUwG9l8EUQ/video.html
Thank you for this video.
I really appreciated it. But I found one suggestion I really didn’t like so I told my subconscious not to listen to it. And that was the suggestion to switch off the pain message. I understand your reasoning. However, I believe it’s wrong, and potentially dangerous. My friend’s late husband had bowel cancer for years. Clearly his will to live was pretty strong. But when he first presented to the doctor not one, but a whole series of doctors kept telling him he had IBS and near a damn they all told him to man up and deal with it. It wasn’t until he was rushed into hospital for emergency bowel surgery that doctors realised their mistake. But had hey done early intervention he might still be alive today. I myself have a pancreas problem that five different NHS doctors failed to diagnose over a two and three quarter year period. So whilst I am fully aware of the vagus nerve problems that can contribute to irritable bowel, we have to acknowledge that this may be a wrong diagnosis. And the body may be sending pain for a reason that needs to be listened to.
Okay, so maybe I shouldn’t have listened to this video anyhow. But my friend’s late husband would have been your target audience. He, after all had an irritable bowel diagnosis. But despite being encouraged by doctors to ignore his pain, it was exactly the opposite of what he really needed to do.. I think it’s fine to turn the pain down as a suggestion, but to turn it off is wrong, and potentially dangerous. Pain is after all the body’s messenger that all is not right.
I hope you will take this feedback on board for future recordings. Thank you.
Thank you for this wonderful, healing hypnosis
This doesn't help with my IBS, but it does work wonders for calming my anxiety before blood donations. 😄
❤❤❤
Hi Martin i have funny bladder problem not sure if its my mind doing it like Anixety but im not emptying bladder properly its not glowing either as it should any hypnotherapy for this please
I go into a trance when I listen. I'm not asleep but I'm not awake either. I regain full consciousness at various points during recording
I do have this problem a lot, and now it needs to stop.I have been taken peppermint, they say it"s helping me.But it is not proving,
This is a great video. My IBS waxes and wanes depending on the stresses going on in my life. Your voice is so calming and relaxing that I kept drifting off to sleep while listening and doing it. I am wondering if I can do this twice a day, morning and night? (especially during a flare-up)
Yes you can use it as often as you want. (as long as you are not driving or doing anything that requires your attention)
Can u also feel it coming on ?
Hi Martin I found this video a couple of days ago and it has helped with my gut issues which was so bad. I still have issue but it has lessened. How often per day should I listen to this? God bless you many times over.
Glad it helped. There is no real limit. There have been around 7 decent trials on gut directed hypnotherapy that I know of. Most of them did it once a week for between 8 to 12 weeks but that was with a hypnotherapist. As this is a freely available recording you can choose to do it more frequently if you wish. Maybe 2 or 3 times a week. If your IBS is driven or made worse by anxiety you may want to take a look at my other videos also as I have a lot of CBT based videos for different anxiety disorders.
How about bloating and air in the intestines? Ignore them and pray? So I tell my mind, hey my gut is actually OK. Ignore the pain? Mind, there is no rush to squeeze the food down the intestines!!?
Hello Martin,If I practise this excellent meditation...do you really mean I will stop having abdominal pains due to IBS??I am so desperately waiting for such good days!!
There have been a number of studies on hypnotherapy for IBS and the results are encouraging. Most indicate that it benefits around 70% (Here is one of the studies www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1773844/). If you suffer with stress or anxiety it is more likely to be beneficial as both can play a role in IBS. If you are struggling with the pains also look into the Monash University low FODMAP diet as that also has around a 70% success rate in relieving symptoms and may be better for people whose symptoms are not caused or exacerbated by anxiety or stress.
Omg I did this and whilst doing it I kept yawning is that normal I felt so much more relaxed after and it was bed time so hoping it helps me sleep now that I’m a little more relaxed I suffer from anxiety and IBS TERRIBLY THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO 😊
Hypnosis is great for relaxing you and many people find they sleep better afterwards. If you are having sleep problems I have a hypnosis video for sleep czcams.com/video/RQNFtO8evjw/video.html
How many times a week do you have to do this also after doing this I slept so much better I was more relaxed thank you 😊
@@traceymorris2932 I would recommend 4 or 5 times a week
Thankyou so much
I fall asleep alot during the session, is that alright
Hey martin! Everytime I try to relax my stomach i feel pressure on my back (waist/middle back) that I can't explain. Do i need to exercise more or something? Im a 24 yo woman. The video was amazing, thank you in advance 💕
I can't really say what is causing that as Im not medically trained. (just trained in counselling, CBT and hypnotherapy). However I know from my own experience with IBS that gas in the bowel can be felt as pain in the back sometimes and some positions make it worse. You could always try it lying down instead. (there is a chance you may fall asleep but there is no harm if you do)
Hi martin, I have a strange symptom of anxiety, I had a period of hyperventilating, and yawning alot, I also noticed I could not burp at times, felt like I wanted to release and burp, but something in my throat blocked the air very strange symptom, I never had this before my anxiety started, my doctor says it's anxiety but does not now the. Cause, the hyperventilating has stopped now
Try yawning, the energy is trapped in the nervous system so if you can yawn, it releases the tension. Allow yourself to feel everything and know it is not dangerous or wrong or good, don't add an opinion, watch it arise then cease and breathe slowly. Look into yoga nidra it is incredible for body release
Regarding yawning I have a video that explains why anxiety causes yawning. czcams.com/video/Vn_vn8ixv4Q/video.html The burp problem may be trapped wind. Stomach problems are common in people who suffer anxiety which is another subject I have covered czcams.com/video/WnUwG9l8EUQ/video.html
Aerophagia?
I do the yawning thing when anxious. It's annoying af but goes away when I take my anxiety meds.
Possibly anxiety attacks, they normally last between 10 minutes to half a day, or something else entirely
What time of the day is the best to listen to this? Before a meal/morning/evening?
Anytime really. The idea is to lower the anxiety so that it does not interfere with bowel transit. Bowel transit is going on most of the day and night. Food reaches the large bowel around 6-8 hours after eating and takes another day or more to move through the large bowel.
@@TheAnxietyAttic Thank you so much for responding! Really appreciate that. Gonna try this out ☺️
I'm going to have to try this a few times apparently I can't sit still or concentrate more than 5 minutes which I didn't even realize until I tried this I'm too distracted by pain I guess idk
It is difficult to concentrate if you are getting cramps. There is usually a pattern to IBS cramps. Mine used to start about an hour after eating because digestion in the stomach causes the bowel to contract to move digested food along. If you can work out a period when you don't get cramps that is the best time to listen to it. Also you can use the low FODMAP diet to work out your triggers and eliminate them for a while. That should ease the cramps.
Yeah. You are right about FODMAP. Got me going on the right or better track straight away.
One more question how many times do you have to do this to gain the benefit 😊
In clinical trials on gut directed hypnotherapy around 70% of people reduced their gut-related symptoms after six weeks of gut-directed hypnotherapy.
Hi is this the best one for terrible bloating and slow transit?
I've been having that too. Does it keep you from sleeping? I haven't slept much at all in the last 5 days or so bc of the bloating, acid reflux, esophageal spasms which trigger panic attacks. It's horrible. 😢
23:13 No pun intended
Why did I cry? 😅
Because you managed to release suppressed emotions? ❤
Ibs c
Just diet and exercise and take meds you will get better.
I don't know why hypnosis is enforced here
Thank you
You're welcome
Hi is this the best one for terrible bloating and slow transit?
I have the same problem...slow transit, bloating.
