    Just some things - I'm a Brit who knows far too much about the monarchy:
    1) You left out Matilda (sometimes known as Maude) who ruled England (and later just south-west England), with the title "Lady of the English" instead of queen, before Stephen.
    2) You left out Henry VIII's wives: Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard and Katherine Parr.
    3) Lady Jane Grey reigned for nine days after the death of Edward VI, until she was taken prisoner by Mary I and executed
    4) Oliver Cromwell was never known as King but as Lord Protector. He abolished the monarchy during his ruling and established England as a Republic.
    5) After Oliver Cromwell's death his son Richard became Lord Protector but was regarded as weak which allowed Charles II to return to England and take back the throne

    • @janefelix3821
      @janefelix3821 Před rokem +2

      It was more that his Regent John Dudley, who essentially was the ruler as Edward VI was still a minor when he died, had him sign a change to the succession laws disinheriting his two half-sisters, Mary and Elizabeth, and replaced them with his first cousin once removed, Jane Grey, who by the way was the Regent's daughter-in-law, thus he made his son, Guildford Dudley, the King. Since she would be the first Queen Regnant of England the policy was that the husband would be a King.
      FYI, towards the end of King Henry VIII's life he disinherited the Scottish Tudors from any succession line, those were the ones from his older sister Margaret who married King James IV of Scotland. Therefore any change in succession would come from Henry VIII's younger sister, Mary. Going through Mary's descendants, she only had daughters produce heirs. Jane Grey was the oldest living child of Mary's oldest daughter, which is why she was next in line if Edward VI's sisters were disinherited.
      After that coup, the laws were changed and Margaret Tudors line was restored, she was older than her sister Mary anyway, and Margaret's great-grandson, King James VI of Scotland ended up succeeding Queen Elizabeth I of England.

      John 3:16-21
      16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
      Mark 1.15
      15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

    Oliver Cromwell and his son were never kings. Oliver Cromwell was a member of parliament who was one of the group who overthrew the monarch in the civil war and was made Lord Protector of the Commonwealth, effectively a military dictator, until his death. His son succeeded him very briefly but did not really want the job and was forced to resign by the army and the monarchy was then restored.

    You left out the civil war and dispute between Stephen and Matilda sometimes referred to as Maude, who actually had more right to the throne, but was prevented from being crowned, because she was a woman, and you left out the nine day queen, Lady Jane Grey. And that the disposed king was probably murdered and that Richard the third died in battle with Henry Tudor, as did Harold at the hands of William the Conqueror known to some still as William the B word, and that Charles the first was beheaded by Cromwell's regime, and James the second deposed in favour of William and Mary who ruled together, until Mary died, and that George the third's son was Prince Regent before he was king.
    Separately but interestingly George the first become king, because his mother Sophia died before she could take the throne, and Victoria only got to be queen, because her oldest uncle George the fourth, lost his heir Princess Charlotte when she died in child birth, and his next youngest brother died without an heir, so his successor was his third brother, who had no legitimate heirs, but lots of children with mistresses, including one he illegally married. Victoria was the daughter of the fourth brother and he died before she was born, to his German princess wife. Then finally there's George the fifth, who was Edward the seventh's second son like George the third was to George the second, because the oldest and heir, died young, also like Henry the eighth was to Henry the seventh. The missing princes who never got to be king were Arthur ( Tudor ) , Prince Frederick who is responsible for the writing of Rule Britannia, because he commissioned it's composition for an opera, and Prince Leopold who was a royal Duke when he died, because like our current King Charles the third, his father was a long time Prince of Wales. Also there was a habit of taking a different name in the last two centuries, Victoria's first name was Alexandrina, George the sixth was Albert and Edward the eighth was David, but both Queen Elizabeth and her son Charles dropped that habit.

The English Royal Family died out in 1603 and the Scottish Royal Family took over. That being the case, the British Royal Family is a continuation of the Scottish Royal Family. Also, Athelstan was the first monarch of a united England. the Kings you give before him only ruled local kingdoms.
