Evernight I used to listen to her yedukulakamboji swarajathi by Syama sastry,which makes me sleep peacefully as I am 72 yr old man. Today another opportunity to listen to the best of Thyagaraja thru this quil, what a happy moment.
Bombay Jayasree is one of the very popular singers of today. I greatly appreciate the importance given by her to the FIVE PRIME FEATURES of any devotional music, namely, 1) Bhakti, 2) Melody, 3) Correct pronunciation of the Sahityam 4) Ragam and 5) Taalam It is a feast to listen to her music with concentration. I only wish she train a few youngsters in her own style to carry forward her legacy. Starting from Sri Purandara Dasa, the Sangeetha Pitaamaha, till date, the Carnatic Music has grown leaps and bounds. But considerable quantum of the invaluable Sahityam (Lyrics) have been lost. I wish the Institutions devoted to carnatic music like the Music Academy of Chennai and Tamil Iyal Isai Nataka Manram and similar institutions in India should allocate their time and funds to unearth the lost sahityam over the past few centuries, because they carry a lot of meaning to the mankind of present and future generations.
We cannot give any comments, but listen to Bombay Jayasrees nightingale voice by closing our eyes, wow!" What a tremendous Kanada, she is embodiment of dedication.Her lower notes are incomparable. She is Saraswathy incarnate.
