  • St John's Hospital, or the Lincoln County Asylum as it was formerly known, is one of the oldest to survive today having opened in 1852, so we took a visit to the former hospital to see what remains as of 2023.

What an amazing building. The Victorians certainly knew how to make something so dreadful (as we now know) look acceptable, as if good architecture would make all the difference. I’ve been to an old asylum in Carmarthenshire where my great aunt was matron and it was basically the same kind of thing with a bell tower. Amazing. Keep up the good work. I am enjoying your films..

Kinda reminds me of a convent in France.
