- Well, I was lucky enough to be invited to take a look around Newsham Park Orphanage today with a very good guide named James who runs one of the ghost hunts there under Haunted Happenings.
I had taken drone footage of this amazing building around a month ago and said on that video that I would love to take a look inside. And today I did.

Great video. Shame to see such a beautiful building in such a state of disrepair. No wonder it is now used for Haunted House Tours. So spooky.
The Times I've driven + walked past that marvellous building, in the 70s, wonder if the parl was part of an estate? and that was a Manor House?..like Calderstones Park?
You'll have to visit Walton on the Hill St Marys Church There's what we called the "PIRATES GRAVE" re-situated now at the West end of the church just under the OUTSIDE window+ the old Grammar School in rhe grounds next to the BLACK HORSE PUB. Across the road by the ramp going down to the subway is the old door headstone of the WALTON TOWN HALL (corner of CROPPERS GARAGE), On old maps of Liverpool , WALTON PARISH was established well BEFORE Liverpool. On the deeds to my house opp the old GLEBE PUB , the area around it was called "The Glebe" and was huge green fields, probably owned then by the then Lord Sefton, at the side of the St Marys church wall used to be "THE BROWN COW PUB"..Then "The SHITHY" an old BLACKSMITH SHOP, as the Lane was Smithy Lane, leading down into WALTON VILLAGE...Sorry to ramble on but your vids bring back some great "Haunts " we played around as kids.
Even the WALTON Flyover, built about 1963 ish by a "LEN FURCLOUGH" locals used to conjure up visions of Len furclough of CORONATION STREET with a concrete mixer??
That old junction before the flyover was erected used to have 5 roads meeting it, and was a bugger to walk across,

Lovely building but just imagine how many poor orphaned kids were used and abused over the years inside those walls.
It's actually very peaceful inside. Yes some children and then patients were mistreated but unfortunately that was how things where done back then
I would love to do a ghost tour in that place. I'd have to get some padded underwear as I'm sure I would be well soiled if seeing something lol.
Brilliant video and love places with history. I had twin uncles that had a burnt out haunted victorian mansion on their land in Ireland.
Brings back old memories,i used to go there once a week when i was 15 in the 1970,s to help the old people, our reward was a free roast dinner,which we used to look foward to

Great video! I went there on Saturday on a Ghost Hunt with Haunted Happenings. This was my second visit there. Amazing building. A very very eerie place, a strong feeling of sadness and misery whilst you're in there. You've shown bits in your video that we didn't get to go to, So thank you for that!
I'm heading there in February with haunted happenings and I'm really looking forward to it, trying to do as much research as I can 🙂

My self & 3 others came here years ago it’s an amazing place & very scary half of the rooms look exactly the same and the smell of hospital is still therexxxxx

Do they do tours there and can you just walk up to the entrance? I wanna start doing urban exploring so if they don't I'll have to find another "totally legal" way in hehe
the guy who owns this building lives in the IOM ,and he wanted too change use too a hotel but was turned down , so im guessing it will always be a haunted house venue
