"If I'm not mistaken, Ben Franklins face is covered in blood" what a line. What a show.
I miss this show. Anybody could be the villain. Race, wealth, religion, nationality, creed... none of it was a barrier to writing a story. The characters in Law & Order, especially a lot of the villains, were three dimensional, and felt way more real than a lot of other shows. There were good guys and bad guys of every walk of life, just like real life.
Kinda like real life... or ideal justice at least.
That’s because many of these crimes are based off or real life crimes but the people were modified to give the story more juice.

It’s amazing how many future stars started out on Law & Order. Every episode I watch I see at least 3 actors I recognize from famous roles.
"He's blended into the rug all right." Love the wit.
You need a sick wit to investigate homicide, don't you?
So nice to see something shot on actual FILM for a change. Has such a good look. We were spoiled back then and didn't even realize it..
can you tell the difference? just wondering
Nice to know these shows will last. The newer DVD shows degrade as you watch.
its even easier on the eyes
Even the banker is creepy in a banker's sort of way... Everything from the extras, the settings, and the actors that have MAYBE 2 minutes of screen time are just nailing it!!!
Again, I gotta say I'm loving all this film stock people shot 20,30, hell 50 years ago that's being transferred to YT. It just looks so crisp 👍👍
High Definition makes the difference.
One of the great things about film!
@@Nuhtalley ... as opposed to digital or tape?
@@dinojay8410 A great deal of TV was shot on tape and it isn't even close.
@@seanwebb605 ... i thought so too ... which means that it wouldn't be film.
I remember this episode. The wife was tired of her husband blowing all the money she worked hard to earn. She decided to have him "wacked." Then she took out the "Wacker" herself.
Not that I would have done it her way, but I can certainly understand her frustration. It's not easy running a restaurant, even in the best of times. Him spending it as fast as it comes in, I don't know what I would have done in that situation.
Maybe found some way to keep him away from the "candy jar"...
Spoiler alerts. Not everyone has seen this episode yet.
@@asnowballinhell ~ It's not as if they'll see the entire episode on here...
Yeah, like, oh, I dunno... a divorce?
@@Deborahtunes exactly. These episodes are not available for streaming (at least they aren't where I'm at) so unless they buy the DVDs they're not going to watch them any time soon
@@alfredoprime5495 ~ 👍 I wish they would show the entire show though...😏
The uniform cops and those old school revolvers lol
Old school is the best school, weenie. LOL.
Hey old or not, they still do the job...
I believe after they upgraded the force, any who were using the older guns were allowed to use them if that was their preference.
The NYPD actually just recently "retired" the last of their revolvers in 2018
www.amny.com/news/nypd-revolvers-handguns-1-18878086/
Those revolvers did the job for 60 years. Now most cops are wussies that need military gear to do a job men did with a 6 shot revolver and shotgun for decades upon decades.
The actress playing the victim's wife also played/plays Finn Tutuola's ex-wife in SVU!
I love this show because the audience figures out the crime along with the Detectives!
They didn't make a "cold cash" joke and I, for one, and surprised! lol
I thought for sure that joke was coming
Lenny and Mike, the glory days!
5:46 The look of "I hate when she's right"
And that's why she's their boss.
Love Law,and Order. My favorite is Lenny!! Always has the best wisecracks!,
Pretty big step, going from restaurant manager to running a major FBI field office.
The Denise Johnson actress? What show are you referring to?
Undercover work
@@TeaAtTwo2 The guy played the FBI Chief in The Sopranos, Uncle Jun. / Dominic Chianese is also in this episode playing a judge
It really is funny seeing how some many long-running TV series recycle actors between them and even within the series. I recognize tons of Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire actors on L&O.
Wow, look at that, a chunky CRT monitor with blue text, wooooow!!!
Amazing how Law and Order is relevant today. Miss this show.
I remember this episode. Mrs. Johnson was such a sweetie (LOL).
I love when the facts eventually come out !!
You can tell this is an old show most cops today carry glocks these guys are packing revolvers
How it was done for decades, mens work. Not cosplay soldiers.
Ahhh...there's nothing like a 10 minute Law & Order clip. It's bite sized. Not too filling.
5:38 "Who's Kovac?" The guy you all were talking about two scenes ago? You know, the guy whose name you put into LEIN and pulled his priors. The guy busted twice in an alley off 110th, where your detectives went to canvas? That Kovac? Ringing any bells?
It must have rung something because she led them to the next clue that they didnt think about: the murders being related.
I smell rewrites or something got out of order.
I REMEMBER THIS EPISODE. IT SHOWS HOW COLD THE WIFE REALLY IS
The WASN'T COLD ; SHE WAS TRIED of her HUSBAND GAMBLING ALL HER MONEY.
Best show ever.
Cuts off just when it getting good
I know right. They always do that...😏
Flushing the nintedo down the toilet brings back memories so much. only it was a SEGA that mom threatened to throw into the fire and it was my dad's not mine
going into a suspected murderer's apartment with just 2 uniformed beat cops armed with revolvers. No body armor , no SWAT backup, none of that. Simpler times. These days you'd have a full SWAT turnout with body armor, shields, etc.
Did anybody else notice that actress who plays Mrs.Johnson is Fin's Ex on SVU?
I knew I recognized her, but I couldn’t place her until I looked her up.
@@srayj I didn't need to look it up, I can recognize faces even if the hair is different
"pulling luds" seems to crack a lot of their cases, makes me wonder why they don't do it earlier
ali ali I think they had to get a warrant?
The guy in the background of the restaurant - clever.
I thought was genius how ex-hostess, Now Restaurant owner, used a 22 pistol from her previous employer. Guess she figured no way trace weapon back old job.
I wonder how frozen cereals taste like.
Ohhh...it's Chief Frank Cubitoso
!!!
I wish they would bring back real Law and order
Well you better be sure to Vote Blue in November.
@@billmurray7473 What?

I love the shows with heros and villains because they are cool the shows just like comics
Ahem 'Cold' hard cash, i'll see myself out.
2:05 seems like they got some inspiration 👸🏾&🐸
8:36
You hear the punchline in your head
Logan with the zinger!
4:31 No, no. Mr. Superman, he not home.
I think Mr. Kovac had snaked his last drain.
Looks like a crisp nyc day!
Wish character still counted when it comes to credit!
So is every episode released on peacock now? Or just some episodes?
season 14 to 20..
Must've been nice being a cop/detective back then look at those models they are carrying
This is wayyyy better than SVU. SVU is all sizzle and no steak. Especially post Richard Belzer
Please Please add the first 12 seasons on peacock!!!!
I agree greatly!!!
Why the heck did he put the money in the cornflakes
4:43...I guess the NYPD doesn't teach trigger discipline or actual gun safety.
5:38 Did she just ask who Covak was? 🤔

The number one motive for murder is money.
In the words of a police procedural novelist of the 1970s, the two main crime motives are stupidity and cupidity (greed).
These episodes are not available on peacock. Where can you find these episodes?

What bank has pink walls?
This one I don't remember as being a real case. But, who cares about a good time charlie getting his just reward from a fed up...? Only the cops--and any family or friends he stiffed who won't now get paid back. As if they ever would have.
Does anyone know who the actress is that playing the wife. She looks familiar but I can't quite place what else I've seen her in.
Lisa Gay Hamilton. You probably remember her from The Practice where she player a legal assistant and then a lawyer in the show.

Great episode that showed deadbeat leech husbands come from all walks of life. I would have thought as her and too bad about the son. I hope that the restaurant survives with her partner.
when i heard Deez at 8:40 i almost flipped out
Isn’t that Fins ex wife? 😮
Yes. She's Lisa Gay Hamilton.
They had no warrant to search the gun. cannot he used as evidence
No warrant required. His gun and his desk. He showed them the gun.
They don't need a warrant if the owner says it's ok...
That's true; he opened the drawer not them
Thank you, Clarence Darrow!
It’s always the wife ugh

Restaurant guy carries cash around and wants a gun, I get that. But after jumping through all the NYC hoops, he trusts his life to that .22 POS?
It was 1995.
It's also a fictional TV show. Relax.
